I used to have a metal one that clipped onto the page, but I didn't like it because it left a dent-like mark on the page, as if it were a really strong paperclip.

I love my bookmark.
It's the classic rectangular shape, but it dips into hourglass-like curves in the middle. Beaded red and gold strings sprout from the top and flowers in corrosponding colours rest above and below the words "Live, Laugh, Love" inscribed in plain print.
It's perfect. >3< ♥

I usually just use random objects, paper and whatnot, though I've recently taken to making my own.

I have a tin full of pretty bookmarks that I've been sort of collecting since I was about five. But I rarely use them. Most of the time I use either my favourite one among them or else a clean tissue or scrap of paper from my floor.

Making bookmarks is so much better than just buying them! I am not really a crafty person but I do make nice bookmarks.
I have so many floating around my room at home, most are simple pieces of laminated cardstock. I really want to get a super fancy one just for fun though.

I have a nice durable plastic one with the "Irish blessing" on it that I found in a library book. Ironically, the book's story was set in Ireland. The bookmark is too big for paperbacks, but it's great for hardcovers since it doesn't get lost easily in the pages.

I use just about anything as a bookmark. I have fancy plastic and paper ones, a few wooden ones, even a plush one, sometimes I use Magic cards or recipts or pieces of paper torn off my homework, but I never dog-ear the pages. I hate it when people do that.

I've started using this nifty bookmark I bought from BAM a few weekends ago that is made of a spiraled metal that marks your place while a circular charm lies against the spine. It's really pretty and I felt it was time to get an actual bookmark. xD I normally would use anything sitting around me that would fit in my book whenever I needed a quick-mark.. such as napkins, my I.D. and gum wrappers.

I use the Obi strips from CDs as book marks. I'd probably loose them in the black hole that is my bedroom if I didn't. xP

♥ ♥ ♥ I have a ton of handmade bookmarks, and some that the library just gives to me for free. But when I need it, I can't find it! It's soo annoying... So usually I just try to remember the page (usually IMPOSSIBLE) or I take out a bobby pin from my hair and stick it in there. It's quite useful. And sometimes I find it amusing to take it off in a dramatic way. *whips off a bobby pin* BAM! ♥ ♥ ♥

I use library receipts 95% of the time even though I have a few real bookmarks.

I have a lot of bookmarks, though, I know I've misplaced some.
I have some bookmarks that my Mom made for me. She just printed some pictures off of the computer and laminated them.
I also still have some bookmarks that I bought at various book fairs when I was kid. I have a Pokemon one somewhere, and I think I have a Star Wars bookmark.
I also have a bookmark with Chinese characters written on it and my name written in Chinese, too. I bought it at an Asian festival.
My favorite bookmark would have to be my Hello Kitty bookmark. It's kind of like this strip of cardboard covered in purple felt. The felt is decorated with flowers and Hello Kitty's face. And at the top of the bookmark is a little Hello Kitty plush.
But when I don't have a bookmark at my disposal, I'll fold up a piece of notebook paper and use that as a bookmark.

I use all kinds of things
sometimes it is a candy wrapper or some other piece of trash that I find sometimes it is my library reciept sometimes it is a free bookmark that I picked up at the library (I do this quite often because I like to collect the free bookmarks. they have so much more personality then store bought ones. I have over 200) it just sort of depends on what I have at my disposal
