Jhordaan could feel the imperfections of his shields, hairline fractures that would buckle under any sort of prolonged strain. Strengthening those obvious weaknesses, though, would take time and patience. It would have to wait. He was already trembling from the strain of reworking the parameters of his mental shields, and pushing the envelope any further would probably lead to total mental exhaustion; he needed his wits about him for the time being.
Forcibly, he concentrated on the faint tug of the Force, strengthening the connection with gritted teeth. The mental exertion he had already put himself through, though necessary, had taken up a ridiculous portion of his concentration and resources. His stamina was close to nil. It was something he would have to work on.
Singling out Camlan's aura among the swirling eddies of color that made of the Force was easy, Jhordaan had been practicing that very sort of thing for several weeks now, but actually interacting with the Force...
Hesitantly, he extended his reach farther, feeling a jolt of surprise when he 'bumped' into something. Camlan.

Camlan felt like his head was going to fall off. He could feel tendrils of the Force pushing and pulling on him; the Amaran tried hard to block them out and focus on himself and Jhordaan. The bubble that was his Force signature seemed to almost be breathing as he was... Carefully, Camlan pushed against it, trying to stretch it like one would stretch limbs before exercising.
His stomach was starting to toss around a little bit. But they had to complete the lesson and somehow Camlan knew that Jhordaan was almost within reach. Slowing his breathing down as much as he dared, Camlan could see that they were like two people standing on opposite sides of a river bank reaching across. If they both reached too far, they would fall in and that would be a bad thing.
Suddenly he felt a bump and a weak voice saying his name. Camlan. Taking the opening, Camlan bumped back and answered. Jhordaan!

Pondering the particulars of the assignment, and not generally being one for lengthy discussions, Jhordaan didn't make any rush to respond. To be able to communicate through telepathy would be a vital skill when out in the field, and could potentially be linked to, but wasn't necessarily, the goal of the lesson. Char Langui had spoken of letting the Force 'build' between them; whatever had been meant, it was obvious that they were supposed to do it together.
He turned his attention back to Camlan, We're meant to work together at this. Help me see the area.
Without much thought to social niceties, he took a firm grip of Camlan's Force presence. The boy could probably shake him off if he was determined enough, but it would be a counterproductive and utimately pointless demonstration.
Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he forced their senses outward.

Camlan gasped as Jhordaan grabbed ahold of his Force signature and tugged. He remembered what it felt like when Mater Sva let the Force wash over them gently instead of like a tidal wave. Camlan took his energy and turned it towards his other senses. He had heightened sight, sound, and taste due to his more animalistic nature... Grabbing Jhordann mentally, he pushed back and showed what it was like to taste the wind and here whispers that some others did not.
See what I see. Feel what I feel. The Amaran replied. In that instant, he could feel his strength truly start to waver. I don't know if I can hold it.

Jhordaan exhaled, concentration wavering as he tried to process the rush of information being relayed back to him over the link he and Camlan shared. The shear scope of Camlan's natural sense perception was staggering.
He took another steadying breath, That's fine. Truth be told, he didn't know how long he could keep it up, either. The mental strain of linking with Camlan in combination with maintaining his own shields had taken a toll; he just didn't have the stamina.
Mentally and physically exhausted, he gently pulled free of the link and took a moment to center himself before opening his eyes. The world around him seemed rather dull, suddenly, without Camlan's sense perception enhancing his own. Perhaps this was what Char Langui had meant, after all.
He stood, working the kinks from his body, and used the opportunity to observe Camlan. He'd been afraid going into their acquaintance that they would be completely unable to work with one another. As it turned out, he'd been wrong.
Posture relaxed, he extended a hand and tried on his closest impression of a smile, "Thank you." It seemed fitting, somehow.

Camlan mentally fell back when Jhordaan let go of their connection. Instead of opening his eyes right away, he focused on bringing himself back together. The air around him felt strangely empty now that they had let go of each other. Carefully, he opened one eye and saw the other boy staring at him.
As he opened the second eye, Camlan wondered how much time had passed. His small stomach rumbled slightly and he grinned. "You're welcome. I think I am hungry."
Shaking Jhordaan's hand, he stood up and shook himself. Letting go, he turned around and took a deep breathe. "Thank you for completing the lesson with me. I learned something today. But now, I think I shall go and get something to eat."
With a slight bow, he wasn't sure if he should ask Jhordaan to come or not, but figured if the boy wanted to... He would follow.
