Irelia did not get a reply in the form of words, but received one as Antony began to fade from view.
"God, Antony what's going-" Irelia stopped her words as he seemed to flicker, and she ran towards him, her hooves hitting the old hardwood floor with dull thumps. She grabbed on to his arm, which was still opaque and held on for dear life.
She had read Tam Lin far too many times not to at least TRY to keep him in place.
"Don't disappear!" Irelia screamed at Antony. She hadn't realized that her dislike for Antony had turned in to an uneasy friendship. And she didn't want to lose one of her few friends.

"It will stop..." he muttered. "In a little bit," he told her, almost dragging her to the bookshelves where she tended to hide. He had to calm down. He couldn't believe he was stupid enough to do this in front of her, as well as the exorcism.
"Just give me a while," he told her as he slid to the floor.

Irelia slid down to sit beside him, crossing her legs as she did so. This was not going well. Antony was disappearing, he was mad at her AND she was still freaked out by the whole knife thing.
"Crap Antony. You know how infuriating this is? I can't do anything at all to help and all i do is make you mad at me."
Irelia pulled a couple of books off the shelf, and held them in her lap. Their voices were soothing, old and competent men and they gave her strength.
"I could read you a story? To get your mind off of whatever it is thats happening."

"I'm fine," he muttered. "This happens once in a while. I used to wake up with parts... missing. An arm, a leg, the sheets were tented but there was nothing to be seen."
He had to calm down. Think cold thoughts. Think homework. With that his color started to come back, trickling into place like water.

Irelia had no idea what was going through Antony's mind, and she really didn't want to know. Antony had unknowingly laid boundaries that Irelia would not cross and one of them was to respect his mind. She was done with trying to read his secrets, and she wasn't particularly sure that she ever would want to in the future. Every time she did so, things went crazy and she was barely able to get herself out of the stupid situations she found herself in.
"That's not normal," Irelia said harshly, staring at Antony, "for you to be disappearing like this. What if you never reappear?"

"Then there would be a lot of absentee-ism in my future," he said as he started to solidify. "But I don't think that's how it works. This is something you shouldn't worry about. And you should stop trying to pin the word 'normal' on people from the patch," he added.
By this time he was solid enough that no one would look at him twice. So he had reaped a soul. It wasn't as if he had actually killed her. He just separated her from this dimension to send her to another.
He stood, pulling out his dagger and inspecting it before putting it away again.
