For people who do speak spanish...what is your favorite dialect? I like the Argentine dialect best. The spanish dialect is another one of my favorites.

Proudly_Jewish I like Castilian Spanish the best smile no idea why... I don't mean the languages in Spain, like Basque, Catalan, or Gallician. I mean pronunciation of words. In central Spain...the z's, and c's before i and e, are pronounced like the English "th". In South America, abundantly Argentina and Uruguay, the ll's are pronounced with more friction...and instead of a "y" sound, it's more like a "j" sound. Also in south america, abundantly Argentina and Uruguay, there is a verb form "vos" which is used instead of tu. (means "you") That's why I like it so much. wink heart

spanishnerd99 Espanol and castellano are the same I think. No, no lo son. Me di cuenta leyendo el Mio Cid. Si tienes la oportunidad, leela. Te vas a dar cuenta de que son idiomas sumamente parecidos, pero diferentes a la vez. Hay muchas personas que se refieren al espaƱol como castellano y, en cierta forma estan correctas, pero a la misma vez no.
Una forma facil de diferenciarlos es el uso de la cedilla. (La 'c' con una comita abajo). Ahora solo se usa en frances, pero el castellano original la utiliza para reemplazar 'c's y 'z's.
