Antony laughed, shaking his head slightly. "Thank God someone actually sees my logic," he said. "But right before he died I discovered something that I can do, something that I don't much like other people knowing."
He picked up one of the s'mores and ate it without dropping a crumb. "I can see spirits," he told the other boy. "Irelia knows, she caught me talking to a mirror ghost one day. She's still trying to come up with ways to blackmail me because of it."

"Oh." Ignacio shoved the s'more into his mouth and chewed it with as much attempt at manners as he could manage; it was fairly passable. Then he swallowed. "What do spirits say?"

"Ah, the usual stuff for the most part," Antony said as he ate another s'more. "Come talk to me, I want your body, I want your soul, that sort of thing. Thanatos likes to accuse me of being a sexual deviant because most of the females I know are still children."
In other words he had been holding a lot of things in.

Iggy's nose wrinkled and he tilted his head to one side. Clearly, he was trying to work out the logic of such allegations. "That Thanatos doesn't sound like a smart guy," he finally announced. "So what if the girls you know are kids? What's that got to do with sex?"
It was suddenly apparant to the other boy that it was possible that Ignacio still did not understand the concept of sex; Devon was not the type of father to give a coherent birds and bees lecture.

"It's something you're better off not knowing," Antony said. "Trust me, I had to look it up online to understand. It's not something they teach in school, that's for sure. Although I think we should have someone give a lecture or something about it."
He shook his head. "I'd rather not go into it now, though. Do you want to watch a movie?"

"... Okay." Ignacio reached out to vaguely pat Antony's knee, though, and offered him a reassuring smile. "If it's bad, though, he's definitely nuts. You'd never do anything to Jace or Delilah or Irelia or any of 'em." He picked up another s'mores then, continuing to eat it over a hand; he obviously respected (even if he didn't understand) his friend's desire for neatness. "What movie?"

"I just got 'The Hogfather' in the mail," Antony said, grateful that Iggy had said that. "It's based on a Terry Pratchett book. It's a rather good book, so I'm betting the movie will be good as well."
He stood, heading for his desk to get the movie and pop it into the dvd player.

Ignacio crammed the second s'mores into his mouth and chewed as he waited for his friend to set the movie up. Then, after swallowing politely, he relaxed back on braced arms. "Hey, Antony? Did you get a little brother?"

"Ah, no," Antony said. "But Jack got a baby. So I suppose in a way, I did. Or at least I got a new cousin." He walked back, sitting down again and pushing play on the remote. "It took a while to get used to it, but it's not been so bad."

"Why not?" Antony asked. "Then again I doubt my Father would ever get another kid, as well. He isn't very much into the baby thing, I'm afraid. Not that I can blame him. They tend to excrete things from all different parts of their bodies."

"Our place is small and Dad told his mom that she'd better be happy with me as a grandkid 'cause it would be muchas anos before she got another one." He snickered. "She tried to make him go out with this lady she met somewhere. Church or something."

Spanish, Antony thought. Which was actually rather cool. He made it sound so casual. The blue boy wondered if he could speak fluently now. "So did he?" he asked curiously. "Will you be getting a step mother or something soon?"

Ignacio laughed harder, shaking his head. "No way," he replied. "Dad said no. Then he went and set a bad example by lying to his mom in front of me. Can you imagine this? He told her that he was dating someone back here." He slouched back and put his hands behind his head as he propped himself against the side of the bed. "And he tells me not to lie."
Suddenly, he looked sideways at his friend. "Do you want a stepmom? Or does Jack being your uncle count as enough extra parent?"

"I wouldn't mind a stepmother," Antony said thoughtfully. "But Father's in love with a woman that doesn't have any use for him. And she's got far too many kids for my tastes, so I think I wouldn't like one, after all."
He thought about the Jack thing. "I do like having Jack around," he said. "He's not as likely to buy me pornographic magazines for my birthday. He got me a complete collection of Shakespeare and a twenty dollar gift certificate for the mall, instead."
