Oh. Oh, he was probably invisible. Spooky. That made sense. He was, after all, dead or something or a spirit or whatever: the moment she'd sensed any magical signals coming from Wisp, Beatrix had sat her down and had a firm talk about it and to not mention her Uncle Jack's name if she ever, ever, ever was stupid enough to talk to something otherworldly. "No, no," she said, distracted, hurrying after Rory: why was Antony peeved? "A girlfriend is when you have, you know..."

How did one explain a girlfriend? Wisp was pretty vague on the idea too. "You like... kiss them," she said. "And you go on dates, and, like, maybe you marry them later, because you're in love. Right, Antony?"

Rory flushed brightly as realization dawned on her. She was using 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend' in -so- the wrong way. Her hands went to cover her mouth as she realized just what she was saying.

"Actually," she said, finally finding her tongue. "I, uh.... just meant that Chris was my friend? He and Wisp are my best, best friends. So, of course I want be be around them, and stuff!"

"Good plan," Antony said, not knowing what ELSE to say. The idea of Wisp having children somewhat horrified him, considering her taste in clothes and ability to see Thanatos. What types of horrors would her children be? And that she had almost kissed Iggy made it worse.

Images of rainbow splatter puppy boys danced in his head just long enough for him to fall back while the two chatted. If he took too long he would lose sight of them entirely.

"I don't know," said her friend, quite puzzled. "I just do. I see weird stuff sometimes. Mommy says I have the influences." (What this meant, Wisp wasn't quite sure.) "He's wearing black and lots of jewellry, and he has a dark tan, and silver hair, and he looks pretty neat."

She darted through the mall door. Thanatos might have been interesting, but shopping was interestinger.

"Huh, okay!" Rory said, having not noticed that they lost Antony. She was intent on shopping, after all. "So, we need outfits! Chris fully rejects spandex," she said, leaving out the detail that Chris didn't want to do this at all. He was voicing that often, anyway. "Any ideas for him?"

Antony looked around, then gave up. "Which way?" he asked the shinigami, who smirked, slowly pointing in the opposite direction. Antony turned and started walking, heading for the other set of shops.

Then he stopped, the sound of music catching his ear.

Wisp's doubt immediately cleared; she clapped her hands. "That's an awesome idea, Ror!" she said. "That way, Delilah doesn't get into a whole lot of danger, but she's still, like, fighting for the Cause, and she's still a member of the team!"

That was satisfying. "I think that Irelia's really cool too," she said, "and really brave. So maybe she could be a -- a member of the team, like, fully, but we'd have to get Chris to teach her how to fight... maybe she could be a relief member? Like when a teacher's away, you get a sub in? She's pretty brainy, though, she could come up with Plans."

"Sure!" Rory said, open for any ideas. She had this feeling Chris wouldn't want to do it much, anyway. But then he was going to come along anyway, to keep them out of trouble, right?

She shrugged off those thoughts quickly enough. "I got Anotny to agree to teach us to fight!"

Then the sound of music got her attention, distracting her from the immediate worry. "Hey, what's going on over there?" she asked, tugging on Wisp's arm and heading off.
