The phone rang, he'd picked it up... it was usual work, techs, teachers, so on calling and so forth. He had them all memorized, too, as any good boss should... So it was easy to catch the name and voice on the other end of the line... the suprise came when he was told one of the dear projects was ... pregnant.
Oh dear. His mind hit a racing point, Rep03... he tapped the computer "Alright ... she's... still young so.." well, atleast someone had fortold this, and they'd created a policy for the matter... still, it left a churning feeling in his stomach when he thought about it... The child would have to be rehomed. "I'll send someone in." he replied, hanging up the phone, only to pick it up again... "Hello, Kat? Well..."

"How? How are we going to figure it out? It's not normal! This stuff doesn't happen, I mean, I know I'm not all human like normal people but even to animals they don't just get pregnant for no reason!!" She said starting to go into hysterics clinging to the teacher for dear life. She had no idea what to think.

It didn't take Kat long from when she received the call to bolt out of her office and to the stairs to get to the little medical ward... She was concerned, to say the least, one of the little girls she'd known was already pregnant? She was just too young, not to mention the policy that Kat now had to work her through... Not yet though. This was a slow and steady process, one she'd been informed about long ago... but one she'd never wanted to deal with.
She stepped into the room, after a quick knock that interupted damaris' hysterucak rant "Damaris?" her usually loud and cheerful voice was soft this time... as she stepped in to join the other woman who was already in the process of comforting the poor girl. "Hey... How you doing?" she closed the distance between herself and the group.

"How do you think I'm doing?!" Damaris said on the verge of tears. She didn't mean to be rude to Kat, she liked Kat and normally Damaris was a sweet girl, but under these conditions she just had no idea how to act.
"This isn't normal! People don't get pregnant for no reason!" She kept repeating completely beside herself.

Kat couldn't help but flinch at the loud voice, the echo of the room didn't help, but it vanished fairly quickly, replaced by a gentle smile. "Shh its okay..." she glanced to the biology teacher, "Dr.Johanson..." she hoped she remembered corectly... "will help figure out how this happend..." Kat assured. "So you don't have to worry at all okay~?" she made her smile widen, shutting the door as she moved closer. "We'll take care of you. Now how about we all get some hot chocolate and talk this over...?" she held her hand out to the young girl, it'd be best to move to a more comforting setting... hard observation tables, and white walls were no place to be discussing emotional matters... Afterall, the experiments weren't just experiments.

"Damaris!" Abris voice was sharper then normal, rather firm, and she hugged the girl tighter. One hand rose up, however, to cover Damaris' mouth, even as Kat spoke. "Damaris." She repeated, softer. "Damaris, darling, I know you're upset and I know this is scary, and screaming and crying is expected. But right now, we have to figure things out."
She pushed the girl away from her gently so she could look Damaris in the face, her eyebrows knotted up. Kat was telling the truth but, sometimes, things like this had to be said face-to-face, not at a distance - not even a small distance.
"You have to remember that this whole place isn't 'normal', love. We will help you. I will help you, like Kat said. After we figure this out, you and I can go out and you can get upset and I can buy you something horrifically girlie like a gallon of ice cream, but right now, we all have to take a deep breath, close our eyes, and calm down. Can you do that for me? Hot chocolate, ice cream, whatever you want. Just. Breathe."

Damaris took in a deep shaky breath and shut her eyes tight. She knew she should calm down, she knew that they were both right but it still didn't help a whole lot. She did want to get out of that room though.
She still didn't look at either of them, finding it easier for her to just keep her eyes closed tight and slowly stand up reaching for both of the teachers hands. They were being very kind, and she needed the support, whether she would admit it or not.

Abri was more assertive than the kindergarden teacher, perhaps it was good to have both methods in play... She let the other woman work to sooth the panic, while she waited for Damaris' release, she took the hand that was given to her with a smile...
"Yes, Icecream, hot cocoa, whatever you want sweetie..." she was breathing again, that was good... and after a moment or two, to let the girl relax somemore, she lead them both out towards her office. There was the trip there, of course, the elevator... the seemingly endless walk, all the while Kat making little soothing comments, it'll be alright, we're here, and so on... when they arrived, the room was a nice modern looking place... a mixture of soft cushy chairs and little toys on the woman's desk. It wasn't quite as vibrant as the classroom she had, but it still seemed to have that air about it... but at the same time alot of comforting soothing pictures, even one of those little water foutains with the rocks and fog... Kat couldn't help but smile at the familiar setting, leading Damaris to a paticularly comfortable chair, and dragging another closer to it.
"What would you like?" she asked, waiting for the girl to calm down a bit further before asking questions... though they needed to be asked. Right now, she had no idea how she got pregnant... and Kat had to make sure there wasn't something... well, not so good involved...

"I just wanna find out what's going on." She said calmer now but visibly confused and timidly. She realized now there was no use yelling, but now she was just scared. She sat down in the chair and brought her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, "I just wanna find out what's going on." She repeated

"Well thats going to take time honey..." Kat gently ran her hand in a circular motion against the young girls back. "We will figure it out though, you just have to wait a little bit..." she smiled, reassuringly... mentally noting to call Alan in a second.
"Can you tell me though... was there anything suspicious that happened in the last month? I mean, no one strange? No ones offered you anything to drink or eat that you didn't know?" one had to ask... obviously she didn't remember the pre-pregnancy event happening... so there had to be something else... There was just so much they could do by voice though, and there were so many things that were unpredictable in the case of these children... not too many had grown this far yet, and no reptiles yet... there was always the chance it could relate to her animal DNA.

She re-ran the past month through her head, actually, it had been a great month...she was making a lot of friends and going to interesting places, but nothing out of the ordinary, "N-No...there hasn't been." Damaris said still balled up in the chair. She was a complete emotional wreck, swinging from anger, to fear, to nothing, she didn't know what to feel anymore.
She closed her eyes and buried her head into her knees. Trying to put all of this out of her mind.

Well that was good... quite a releif actually. A rape case was defiantly something she didn't want anyone to go through... especially not date-rape, and so on...
Well, putting those odd thoughts aside... the girl probably had slept with someone, and just wasn't admitting to it... thats usually how thee went... but, well, even if that was true, Kat felt she should play along for the moment... at least until they ruled anything else out...
"Wait here for a second okay honey?" she smiled, rubbing the withdrawing girls back a bit more, before getting up and moving to her phone.
The conversation was a scattered one... "Alan?" yes... she is... no. no... Yes... You're running some tests? Oh good..." she let out a sigh of releif "thank you" and hung up the phone... No, no one knew exactly what to test for... but... well it was best to run a few things, anyways. Since there was no way they could check to see who the father was at this stage.
She turned back to Damaris "A tech will be in soon to tell us what they ruled out... Until then..." she turned to start making that hot cocoa.

"Th-Thank you..." Damaris said, even in her state she knew that she wasn't being the kindest. Her old teacher had been very kind to her, and she had yelled at her and said mean things. Her conscious was starting to take it's turn with her emotions.

The microwave hummed, and then beeped... the sound of a spoon tapping against the porcelain of the mug seemed to echo against the tension in the room. "Don't mention it." Kat smiled, bringing the cup to the girl, and enjoying one for herself.
Settling in her own chair, she smiled as though nothing was happening "I haven't seen you in quite a while though... Have you made any new friends?" at this point... while they waited, it was best to distract with idle chitchat, and with a pause she added "Or cute boys..." with a little wink... pregnant or not, lizard or not, she was still pretty much a teenage girl.

Damaris nodded as she took the mug, though she didn't seem all too interested in it.
"Mhmm..." She answered, it was true, she had made quite a lot of friends, she has met a lot of nice kids and had been having a great time, until this..."I made a lot of new friends...it's been...nice." Damaris said solemnly. She hoped that this wouldn't put an end to all of that. Her friends would still like her right? But would they believe her? Would they believe that she hadn't slept around with any boys. It was all pretty overwhelming for the girl.
When Kat mentioned 'cute boys' a certain Clydesdale came to mind, but she didn't want to tell any teachers about her crush...they'd only think that that meant she did sleep with a boy.
