Only a short dash away from the portal, there was a small clearing in the forest. It was about ten feet wide and ten feet long, the size of a small room. Though the edges of it were lined with tall grasses and flowers, the middle area had been flattened, almost like a mat.

In that clearing were two elves: Adonai, back from his mysterious trip, and Shael; and both of them were chatting and laughing together happily.

They were facing each other, and Adonai had one hand on Shael's waist, clasping her hand in the other. Her free hand was on his shoulder, and they were slowly moving from side to side and in small circles, and from time to time Adonai would twirl Shael about, causing both her skirt and hair to fan out around her, until she landed once more, laughing, in his arms.

Donovan grumbled, he would like to have some resemble of order thank you very much. Though it looked like he wasn't going to get it at all. He followed after, hoping that Lin knew what she was doing.

Which she was, in a child sort of way. Which involved bursting in on the two once she realized who it was.

"Shael! Adonai!," she paused, "What are you doing?"

At the interruption, Adonai and Shael stopped mid-twirl and looked to see who had stumbled upon them. Adonai's arm was still around Shael, though neither of them moved to change their position.

"Lin!" Shael smiled widely, her eyes growing bright when she saw the girl. "Celebor! Welcome back!"

She giggled a bit and stepped out of Adonai's arm, though she kept her hand in his. "Adonai was just teaching me how to dance ... he learned when he was off traveling."

Adonai chuckled softly. "Among other things," he murmured; then he nodded his head at their visitors. "Good to see you again. I assume you didn't come alone?"

"Mommy and Daddy are here too, so is Miyu," Lin added, "So we'll be staying here for a while."

No sooner had she said this, was she lifted off the ground by Donovan. He was shaking his head, honestly did this girl have no fear? Well at least she had common sense... mroe or less.

"You are going to have to learn not to run off."
"But I don't... most of the time," Lin replied, "I wouldn't run off if I wasn't sure it would be okay."

He nearly twitched, it sounded like him as a kid.

Ryu needn't have worried about Feng: since she wasn't able to run and pounce, Shael ran forward instead and threw her arms around Feng.

"I'm really glad you're here," she said excitedly to Feng and Ryu both. "Aliya's been wondering about you and we've all missed you - not to mention, you've missed a lot!"

Adonai rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'm afraid that would be my fault," he told Celebor apologetically. "I really had no idea she would be like that when I left, otherwise I would have told her where I was going."

"Yes, well you should have anyways," Shael retorted, though she was grinning playfully. "Honestly, coming back with them like that? I could have used some time to prepare!"

"I'm confused," Lin admitted, since she had no idea what the two were talking about at all.

Who was them?

Shael turned back to the others once more. "My brother and sister," she said happily. "In the Eastland, in New Kaliningrad ... I have an older brother and a twin sister - identical, no less!"

She laughed.

"He brought them back here, and they lived here for a year ... they wanted me to go back with them, but ... I couldn't."

"She wouldn't speak to me for a very long time," Adonai told the others, folding his arms across his chest. "In fact, not for ... a month after Reuven and Rayna left, anyways. So more than a year after I was back."

"But you're obvious talking now," Lin replied with a smile.

Which was good otherwise that would have been sad, since it seemed Adonai went through a lot of trouble to find Shael's family.

"So you must have kissed and made up."

Probably... but not in the way Lin thought to be the case.
