They continued their walk, her tail swishing as she looked around, taking in all the sights and sounds that were happening around them. When she had noticed that he moved from her side, she turned her head to watch him as he moved off to the side and grabbed something. Was that a stick? She asked herself inwardly with an elegant tilt of her head.
No matter, what he wanted with it was his business, not hers. Besides, it sort of reminded her of a knight with his trusty sword... if that sword was a stick.
At his smile, she gave him a coy smile back. She was tempted to give him a small nudge with her shoulder, but that wouldn't be too ladylike, at least, not on first impressions.
"Balgen the Victorious Brawler? Sounds mighty regal." She told him, eying him curiously, wondering where he got such a title from. "I'm afraid I don't have a lovely title such as yourself, but I am Juliet."

Balgen felt so happy and proud she thought his title was so regal. He always wanted to be regal. Sometimes, though he appreciated hte good life Gabriela and Mythril gave him as part of their family. He felt like his destiny lay beyond their land.
He smiled at her. "Juliet..." He let it roll off his tongue and started to think. He was contemplating a good title for her. Still, he didn't know her hardly very long at all. Maybe after spending more time with her, he could help her find a very nice one.
"So.. do you have a family? one of your own.. or one you are part of?" He looked. He waited for her answer.

Juliet was truly enjoying this stallion's company. He wasn't trying too hard to impress her like the others, at least, from what she could tell. He was so easy to talk to, that she had lost track of where she was going, she wasn't even too sure where she was at the moment either.
She returned his smile with a gentle one of her own, tail flicking behind her. At his question, she tilted her head slightly. "A family? Well, I don't have one of my own just yet and hopefully it won't come anytime soon, but I am part of a family. In fact, not too long ago, my brother started a family of his own."

Oh man!!! What were the chances!! He wanted to bend a front leg inward to cheer, but then he felt some discretion might be better since she was just standing there. He did grin though.
"Yeah. I hear ya! My brother had some babies recently. Well, they are grown up now.. but geez... If they keep on poppin like they are; poor Taipa will have to get herself a new teepee. She's cool about it though. I think we all keep her company. She's a real nice lady. According to my mom, Taipa used to have a husband who disappeared on a hunting trip. There are hushed rumors that it might have to do with when the skinwalkers appeared, but noone knows for sure."
Then he realized he hadn't clarified his status for her. He thought maybe he just better.. for sake of knowing. Knowing was half the battle! Right? "Oh and.. I don't have a family of my own either. I was thinking I might wait until I am sure about whoever mothers my children. If I do that, that's for life. Gotta be sure!"

"I never met my nieces or nephews, but I'm sure they're grown by now as well." She said. A small frown came to her face at a small thought. "My mother also had new foals of her own recently as well, so I have little half-siblings running about. I'll probably never meet them either." Juliet said a bit forlornly. Although her father was droll, she would have liked to see him and her mother stay together like a typical family would, but unfortunately, not everything could be like a fairy tale. At his comment about this 'Taipa's' husband, she nodded to him. "I'm sorry to hear that, it's truly sad when one loses a loved one."
When he told her that he was saving himself until he met the right mare, she smiled softly. "I couldn't agree more. I'm searching for my Prince Charming myself."

Balgen nodded his head a bit. "Yes. From seeing some of the soquili you do, you might think that fairytales can actually exist here. However, I really am not inclined to believe it. I really think things just happen. Like.. take for instance.. my mother.. i can tell that neither her or her mate are my real parents. I can tell this... They did take me in.. but what on earth happened when i was a foal.. that I lost my real family?"
He tried to shake this line of thought that was bound to make him feel melancholy. Certainly the last thing he needed to do in front of this pretty mare was start feeling sorry for himself as he did at times. That would likely impress noone.

Juliet frowned when he had said that he didn't really believe in fairy tales. Perhaps it was too much of her to believe that he would be the won since they were so similar, but she wants her Prince Charming to have the same ideals as her. She didn't give up too much hope on this one though... maybe one thing different wasn't such a bad thing.
The frown didn't really leave her face though when he mentioned that the parents he known weren't his real ones. She would have felt horrible if one or both of her parents weren't her true family as well. But she just moved closer and gave his cheek a small nuzzle. "That is unfortunate, but at least you have some one who did and does love you like a mother would. There are those who are unfortunate to have neither parent nor guardian."

Such a tender and caring gesture; it wasn't lost on Balgen. His eyes immediately roamed towards her. It was true. In his heart, he knew Gabriela loved him no different than she did her other children. He knew if he ever had his own; they'd be welcomed with open arms as well.
He returned her gentle nuzzle. "I appreciate your concern my pretty friend. You are absolutely right. I suppose I'm just being a Mr. Grumpy pants about it. I suppose that is just something that lurks in my mind sometimes. It feels like I was given a mystery I didnt' deserve handed to me."
Then, he thought maybe the family he was born from was itself broken. Maybe he had been spared further heartache and toil by growing up in the small herd. Then, an idea crossed his mind. "Maybe your coming into my life... might also help me to find those missing pieces. Maybe... my faith in better days will be restored." He quirked up a half grin for her.

The mare gave his cheek one last nuzzle before she straightened up with a small toss of her head, hair swaying back and forth before cascading down over her neck. "Although it is unfortunate, it is never wise to dwell on such things. All it does is make one upset and it doesn't really change what happened." She told him softly.
At his comment, she quirked a slight questioning brow to him. "Really?" She asked softly, with a small tilt of her head. "Well, in that case, I am happy to be of some help to you my charming friend."

His eyes regarded her carefully and with great admiration. "You are both beautiful and wise."
He nodded and scraped the ground with his unclothed hoof. Then, he looked up to her with a crooked smile. "I suppose you're right. I won't dwell on it. Or, at least.. I pledge myself not to do it around you. I wouldn't want to murky up such pleasant company with my bad behavior.
Then he winked at her. He just thought 'hmm' to himself that she thought he was charming.

Juliet looked to him and grinned softly, tossing her mane at his comment. "Why thank you." She beamed.
She quirked a brow curiously at his crooked smile, but just nodded. "I greatly appreciate that. Nothing ruins a good day more than sour company." She told him, giving his rump a playful nudge with her own.

Balgen softened his expression and smiled broadly at that nudge. His tail flicked; feeling his tail hair flop down through hers. Did girls like this really exist? Well, obviously they did.. as she was plainly standing there.
"You're welcome." He wanted to attempt to do something 'romantic',so he blew lightly on her ear, and nuzzled lightly on her cheek.
"I like you."

The mare giggled softly after she had nudged him. Her long black tail flicked for a moment as she was about to continue their stroll again.
Just before she could take a step though, she felt a soft 'breeze' rush by her ear, causing her ear to flicker lightly. It was soon followed by a nuzzle to her cheek, where a bit of color appeared. Looking to him, she smiled softly. She wanted to come up with a witty come back, something about him commenting about liking her, but all that came out was a simple 'Thank you' and "... I like you too."

He trotted along grinning quite a bit. He looked off to her out the side of his eye.
"Were you headed anywhere when I ran into you? We can go that way if you want. I wouldn't mind escorting you... anywhere... If you wanted to go..."
See, he could be brave.. and dashing... just as much as any of his herdmates.

Juliet flicked her tail lightly, looking to him at his offer. She smiled and shrugged her shoulders lightly. "To be honest, I don't have a particular destination in mind." She told him, glancing up to the sky, watching a cloud drift by slowly. "I just go wherever my legs take me and when I get bored... I head home. I know it's not too fantastical, but you're free to stay with me... if you like."
