Alex almost laughed at the comment about Weiyuan. She'd been dead on about that one, but she knew her brothers fairly well. A soft snicker escaped her, shaking her head at the pain in the a** comment. Oh, Scyeth didn't know the half of it! And maybe it was better that way.

Before she could offer a sarcastic remark about knowing Zhi well, he asked quite possibly the most entertaining question she'd heard all year. She did laugh at that, a rich melodious sound that hadn't escaped her for some time. "Scyeth, do you see any girls around here?" Alex giggled a little, shaking her head. "If you know my didi at all, you'd know he's terrified of the mall girls. So. Kinda slim pickin's if you get my drift."

That was an interesting question. Zhi had told her about the time Scyeth had accused him of writing a love letter to...okay no, don't go there. That almost soured her mood completely, but remembering RuiZhi's bewildered expression made her smile again. "Why, you got one in mind? Or one of the boys?"

The last part was intended as a joke, but after seeing Weiyuan...

The laugh had surprised Scyeth, to say the least. He hadn't expected such a pretty, light sound to come from someone so angry and intense. Well. Everyone had to loosen up sometime. "I've tried to make him go to the mall," he commented, shrugging. The mall girls were just a small group of females world wide, but Alex was right, it did leave them with slim pickings here on their little island. He shrugged and nodded. That was good to know. Of course, he should have known better, than to open his big mouth. (Really, it kept getting him into trouble.)

The blond tensed almost instantly, blue eyes snapping with much more intensity than the situation should have warranted. Scyeth gave Alex what could only be described as a 'death glare' and shook his head. "No. Not one of the boys. I was just curious," he justified, shrugging. "He's shy. I'm not. I figured I could help him snag a girl, if he wanted." He shrugged again. Hopefully his not-so-friendly Italian gal pal would buy it. The glare was pretty convincing.

When Scyeth glared at her, Alex couldn't help it. She grinned, wide, and still not entirely friendly. How the tables had turned! The woman had a feeling that RuiZhi was fond of his room mate, she just hadn't realized the fondness may have exceeded friendship. Oh she was going to heckle the snot out of that little brother of hers! Not that she thought they were...in love or even attracted to each other, but she thought, maybe, there was a closeness.

Great. Even RuiZhi had it better than she did.

She laughed again, shaking her head bitterly. This wasn't about her. "He's not interested. He's here to learn. Girls aren't even on his radar. I think the closest he came to 'interest' in a person was Rylenn." Alex shrugged, scrawling something out on an application before moving to the next. "Zhi means well but he's not very social. He comes from a world very different than ours. I mean, not everyone has their home ravaged by demons."

"...oh."

Well. Damnit it all to hell and back! How was he supposed to know that RuiZhi's home had been ravaged by demons!? Scyeth swore under his breath, something long and crude and not entirely English. That sort of threw a wrench into his plands (or lack thereof), didn't it? He had told RuiZhi and he didn't care, or was he only saving Scyeth's face? Ug. This wasn't very fun anymore. (Was it ever?)

"I see." Scyeth turned back to his papers, intialing with a second wind. Suddenly, he wanted to get out of here as fast as he could. The blond didn't say anything for five whole minutes, flying through the papers without even looking at them. After it, it didn't really matter to him if he messed up a page here and there. He wasn't the one responsible for the reports. Once the last page was finished, he glanced up at Alex, still scowling, even if the irritation was more inward than directed at her.

"Do you need anything else, or can I go now?"

That was not the reaction she was expecting. Alex paused in her work to watch the other as he was suddenly silent, feeling the small hairs on her neck stand on end. She really didn't like that feeling, it usually denoted something bad.

So RuiZhi hadn't told Scyeth? Or maybe...he just assumed the other would know. The incident in China was no secret, but this Scyeth kid did come after the fact. As he scowled at her, she simply smiled and shrugged her tan shoulders. "Yeah. You're free. I'll get Zhi to help me with the rest." It was obvious there was still work to be done, but she wasn't exactly thrilled by the kid's stand off behavior. She wasn't going to keep him if he was ready to go.

Taking her stack of papers with her this time, she set them on the desk and swiftly started to stamp the remainder of his papers, with significantly less force than last time. That was his dismissal, if he wanted it. Besides, it wouldn't hurt to snag Zhi first and see what the kid was really all about.
