I had a pretty creepy dream once...
I was in this decrepit, old house. The lighting was dim- just enough to see the dust floating in the air, the cobwebs clinging to the objects on the shelves, and the wallpaper, yellowed with age, peeling of the wall in limp and lifeless shreds. The air was cold and the chill sunk into my skin like a disease. The floorboards creaked under my bare feet and the sound echoed throughout the hall as I moved through the deserted corridor, dust rising from the rug and sinking back into the fabric with my every step.
Upon turning the a corner, I found myself at the maw of a large room decorated by a single, burgundy wing chair. It sat facing an empty, crumbling fireplace on the far wall. The back of the chair was tall, and the fabric was faded and worn. I couldn't see around it, and yet I knew someone was there, waiting for me...
I took a step forward, but the floor was sturdy under my weight. No sound seemed to penetrate the confine of the room and it made the atmosphere only more eerie as I approached the chair, like a moth attracted to a deadly flame.
The apprehension was growing inside me. I could feel the adrenaline coursing though my veins as I moved toward the front of the chair.
What I saw made my blood run cold.
In the chair was a small boy with no eyes. In their stead, big, black buttons were stitched onto his pallow, pasty face. Jagged lines of inflamed skin from where the thread was sewn into his flesh surrounded the buttons that gleamed in the dim lamplight. I tried to scream at the grotesque image before me, but no sound arose from my throat. I brought my hands to my neck in horror and staggered back.
At that moment, the once still creature turned it's head to face me, a sloppy grin full of small, sharp teeth spread across his pale features. "Mummy," the gruesome boy said, childlike voice dripping with a foreboding false innocence. "Mummy, you're finally here. I've been waiting for you." The monstrosity lifted itself out of the chair and walked toward me with it's hand outstretched. My eyes were wide with the suffocating fear that threatened to freeze me in place. All at once I bolted for the door, but just as I reached the doorway, it slammed shut, the click of the lock following closely behind. Panic-stricken, I pulled at the door handle and pounded on the surface of the wood, but my efforts were useless. Nothing I did made a sound; my frantic screams for help went unheard and the beating of my fists against the door made no noise.
"You can't leave me, Mummy. You have to stay here."
I whipped around and saw the boy was headed straight for me, hand held out to me as if to steal my soul. An ear-piercing, blood-curdling scream escaped my lips, only to rise silently into the frosty air as if it never was.
"Forever."
And then I woke up.

Just to throw my two cents in, I think "creepy" is an understatement.

You think so? I have creepy dreams like that all the time, and I'm a pretty vivid dreamer too.
Should I post those up as well, or would that be a bad idea? Personally, I'm a horror queen so this kind of stuff doesn't bother me much, but I know there are people with weaker constitutions out there.
I don't want to make people squeamish or anything.

I feel your pain. >.> My insomnia isn't nearly as bad as some people's though.
Horrific descriptions of your dreams won't bother me- I'm afraid I'm a bit of a morbid person- but I can't speak for others.

i have insomnia, i dont really dream much to me sleep is just like closing my eyes for a minute and opening them to some amount of hours later, so i see wat seems like two minutes of darkness but its actually been like 4 or five hours, except when i sleep to help ignore my hunger or sickness then i dream of limitless food or a hospital bed where im tied down and the doctor has a gun and he's pointing it at my heart or head or something saying that he needs to keep me from spreading the rare disease i have then he pulls the trigger and the darkness comes again then later i wake up mrgreen and yes i am really bored and hyper this morning and the hospital dream comes very rarely even when im sick, maybe it depends on the sickness in which case i must figure out how that dream is connected hmmm or maybe im just bpored and trying to drag this on cause i have nothing better to do right now cause im tired but i cant sleep cause of the insomnia and i've been up all night and its almost noon and yea im gonna stop now
