Yes! I meant Fire Phieonix. I find odd that our new member spelled it that way. I mean, I'm positive the correct spelling is Phoenix, he-he. sweatdrop
BTW, What if heaven didn't exist? What would you guys do if you knew that for a fact? I'm just asking, don't get all melodramatic on my account, he-he. mrgreen

If heaven didn't exist, I would be in the same position as Mel: fear my inevitable death. That would also mean we wouldn't have souls/spirits... Bad image for me. @.@

It wouldn't necessarily mean we don't have souls/spirits. Just that they aren't going to go someplace nice after we die.
So, yeah, count me in with the fearing death angle.
But, in the meantime, I would hope for total oblivion and non-existence. Because the alternative would be torture in one form or another.
Although, attaining Nirvana would be cool, too...

Thank you! I'm with Berz on saying that there being no heaven, doesn't necessarily means we have no souls. If (and that's a big IF), there was no heaven or hell, I wouldn't fear death but, I would hope for either a good reincarnation or, at least some other way to pass the time waiting for the end of time to come (if there is any). For example, exploring the universe might be a good way for a bored soul to, you know... mrgreen

Acknowledged.
You know there are lots of sightings and sensations regarding ghosts? Well I think of ghosts as the souls of the dead who aren't ready for Heaven or Hell in one way or another. I see them as wandering planes in a spiritual plane that crosses over with the material world. I guess you could call that purgatory/limbo.
I wouldn't like that kind of existence, but I suppose it'd be better than nothing at all.
*Thinks up a thread about ghosts and scuttles off to the Catacombs.*

Yeah, I know about that for sure. When I was a kid, I was afraid of ghosts but now, not so much. I keep wondering if there are more kinds of purgatory than we know of. For example, different kinds penalties would call for different kinds of punishments, wouldn't they? I mean, a person who in life only told little white lies (the same kind as the one seen in the movie Forrest Gump) wouldn't be in the same kind of place as someone who stole only one thing as long as he/she lived. Right? After all, stealing only a few times when a person was very young won't send him/her to hell, will it?
I'm gonna check out the catacombs cuz I have something to say about ghosts as well. 3nodding

1.) What to you think Heaven's Gate/The Heavenly Doorway is?
I am not sure what the doorway is or anything yet i think it just keeps out bad karma and eventually all souls unite with the supreme being.
2.) Can the Heaven's Gate/Heavenly Doorway and Heaven be glimpsed from Earth?
I dont beleive so however i do beleive in maricle moments when God or Higher Beings talk with you and show you the path.
3.) What do you think of Heaven and what do you think it will be like?
A place of peace and unity with the Higher Being.
4.) What are your perceptions of Heaven in the worlds of fantasy?
Same as what i beleive in present world with few twists of magic.
5.) How do you perceive a tranquil afterlife?
with unity with the higher being.
I am a Hindu and so many of my answers follow with the Hindu belief system most of my answers of of reality present day type views of what i beleive in.

Ah, so that's how you see things, eh Suma? That's interesting. Even if I don't share those beliefs, it's always cool to see what others believe in.
I'm sure you must believe in re-incarnation, yes? neutral

Do tell, how exactly do you see re-incarnation? I see it like one of those pink carnations we have here on Gaia, ha-ha! rofl Seriously now, I see it in a complex way so I better post about it later. mrgreen

According to Hinduism, reincarnation is the process of birth and death we are born in this world and then after our death we are reborn in another form the eventual goal in Hinduism is to reach Moksha which is the ultimate breakage of cycle of birth and death and reunite with the Supreme Being also known as Brahman. In order to break the cycle one must do good deeds meditate pray and do things to reach the Supreme conciousness and reunite with Brahman. What you are reborn as depends on what you do in this life if u do good things u turn to something like an animal as an example or if u do not good things u can turn to an ant or bug.
I have a paper i wrote about how Hinduism works in the aspect of reincarnation which if its okay i may add as another topic if people are interested.

That's an interesting view Suma.
Here's how I see the concept of re-incarnation:
* First up, a soul is made/born from God. * It then gets sent to one of the thousands (if not millions, or more) of planets in the universe to be put into a creature that's about to be born (when exactly does this happen? Yer guess is as good as mine). * After a certain period of time, the living being dies and, if everything goes well, its soul goes to heaven. * In heaven, God (or one of the archangels) sees how the soul did when it was on said planet and the sort of things it did. If its death was premature, or if it did good things but not enough of them, it gets sent back to that planet and re-born into a creature of similar, if not the same, species. Now then, if the soul did mostly bad things, then it accumulates "bad karma points" and it will be sent to either a new planet or the same planet but, it might be put into a different species. * This cycle could be repeated until the soul accumulates enough "good karma points" to be admitted into heaven. Once there, it can become an angel or spend the rest of the afterlife as a simple soul.
What do you all think?

Why thank you!
I was also thinking that if you end up as a simple soul, you could do lots of things. You could chose to travel the universe, seeing a lot of planets and living beings in the process, or opt to be sort of a helper to God or the angels. If that's the case, you could someday be made into an angel or even archangel. Depending on how you do, of course.
Personally, I would chose to explore the universe for most (if not all) of eternity. Let others be stuck in heaven for all I care, he-he. Since there's lots of theories out there, I'd like to find out the truth about the universe and if there are other universes out there to explore. Think about it, if that's the case, we could end up exploring and seeing new things forever. Doesn't that sound exciting? I wonder if it would ever get old...
Hmm, perhaps for someone who is not a natural explorer... 3nodding
If you want to expand on what you said earlier, please go ahead! wink
Too bad Mel hasn't posted anything here yet...
