Luca placed his glass down once more and couldn't help but notice that the smile on the face of Fiach had changed. Not by a great amount, but something seemed to eat a bit of him. Luca hid the fact that he had seen this, and sent his mind to the questions the man would ask of him and his current talk.
"She loves games. Late at night I'll be woken to the sounds of Pinball. She loves the ones with noises, colors, and blinking light graphics. But more and more it seems like a good idea for scanning. I think compromise with her could work too. If she does one thing, I can reward her with time to play a game or some sort. Maybe even buy an MMO once I have spare change to get one.."
He took into account Fiach's tellings of .Net not being a place for gaining basic computer knowledge. At the words 'dealing with Hackers' the PDA buzzed again.
-If he can deal with me, he can deal with most any Hacker! :3-
Luca suppressed the urge to start laughing by quickly bringing his hand to his mouth and turning the laugh into a slight cough. But he nodded all the same.
"I would hope I would be able to deal with any Hacker. I'm fairly certain they all aren't the same disposition of Au'ret. But I can handle people. My current job has me dealing with them about...Eh, I'd say eighty percent of the time. Granted they aren't in the best of moods when handed off to me, but..." He trailed off, shrugging his shoulders. He put the glass to his lips again and drank before continuing, directing his words to the question newly posed.
"Personality wise I can put myself in another person's shoes. I know the kind of things they are going through just by looking at body language. I'm of mild temperament, so even though I get frustrated, I rarely loose my head. It takes a lot to get me enraged, so it doesn't surface often. Umm..." He stops, again thinking. "For explaining, I am a quick study and things tend to stick in my head, so repeating the same explanations over and over is no problem." He smiled at the last bit added on by Fiach. "I'm certain of people being impolite. We're not always aware of basic courtesy sometimes, especially when frustrated."

Again, Fiach found himself smiling softly, wistfully, at how Luca described Au'ret and her joys in life. It sounded like she was a simple, lovely child, and it made Fiach miss his Aponi all the more. Lifting the glass for another sip, he set his mind back to the task at hand, reminiscing was best done in private, on your own time, and not when interviewing someone about a possible job with you.
Placing his glass once more in front of him, he allowed his nearly idle hands to fiddle with it as he listened to Luca speak. A single eyebrow rose as the man before him seemed to struggle a little before coughing, and Fiach nearly asked if he was all right, before deciding that since Luca had nodded...he clearly was well enough to continue onwards with the interview process. Though, Fiach couldn't help but wonder just what had made him cough like that, and found himself curious as to whether or not Au'ret had said something to cause that reaction.
His broad shoulders raised in a small, subtle shrug as he wrapped his attention back around Luca's response and not his mind's internal wanderings. The tall Irishman nodded softly as the one before him listed off how his personality was well suited to a customer service job, and Fiach found himself quite pleased with Luca. The man was right - if his personality was as he said, then he was perfectly suited to customer service, perhaps even more so than Fiach himself was.
This thought brought a near sigh of relief to his lips, and it was with a smile that he continued, "I'm glad to hear that you can keep a cool head about you, even if the customer is not. That's a very important quality in customer service and its something we value here at .NET." With a pause, he thought over what his next move was, he hadn't really prepared for this interview, and wasn't entirely certain just how to proceed.
"Often times, we have bizarre hours kept here at the shop, as its based on customer need. Would you be able to come in when you're not regularly scheduled, or otherwise comply to assist the customers, or the Hackers, as needed? Our service database doesn't just touch the human customers, after all, but we also have to care for the Hackers - and they can reach us anywhere, at any time, if they so choose..."

A pleased look passed over Luca's face as Fiach seemed accepting of his personality. True, in off days Luca could be moody and lazy, but luckily such moments were few and far between. Even less since Au'ret had come about and he had looked into a new job. He nodded at Fiach's telling of keeping a cool head.
"I agree. Being the levelheaded one in a situation can better it. I've taught myself that over my years of employment elsewhere. Mostly by observing before I was employed at my present place of business, but I've used a lot of that knowledge now."
Luca waited as the man before him paused. He seemed to be thinking of another question to ask. In that moment Luca drained his glass of water and set it back down in time for Fiach's next question.
"I'm certain that would be no problem. I figure the only times I wouldn't be able is if I were ill or in the hospital. So no problem in that area at all."

Another brief smile flitted across Fiach's face as he watched the man before him, Luca seemed pleased, and that calmed Fiach just a little at the thought of hiring the man - at least he was confident. But when Fiach recalled the bedraggled way the man had brought himself in, it made him want to twitch all over again. His white building would never be the same if Luca came to work in that condition every day...
A small nod was given as Luca gave his agreement with Fiach, and it was with a small start that Fiach realized that the man he was interviewing had drained his glass of its water. Grumbling mentally at himself for being such a bad host, he slowly stood up, before politely lilting, "Would you like another glass of water?" With that, Fiach finished his own glass, before glancing at the sink as he awaited Luca's response. It wouldn't do to refill his own cup if he didn't refill his guest's, and he was already feeling like he was doing a poor job of this entire interview thing as it was.
Flouncing up to the door of .NET Hackers, Adalia gave her skirt one last tug to ensure it was properly in place, before smoothing her hair back and unceremoniously tossing the door wide open. She knew it ground Fiach's nerves when she did that, but annoying him was precisely what she intended to do at that moment. She'd seen the ad in the paper, or, rather, Li'tae had and then had happily informed her of it, and she was in quite a mood about being left out of the loop.
Even if she was "just" hired help, she still deserved to know when they were getting new staff. Especially if she was being replaced, which she had a sneaking suspicion she might be, for how Fiach had been treating her of late. What with the Li'tae and Trisste incident, and all. Allowing her heavy boots to make as much noise as they wanted on the hard floors, she trounced into the kitchen, a look of consternation on her face, when she managed to make the doorway and caught sight of a man sitting at the table.
Further annoyed with Fiach for not warning her ahead of time that there'd be a man at the shop for the interviews, Adalia threw her brother a dirty look before sidling up to the table and flouncing into his recently vacated chair.
"Hey there, my name's Adalia. What's yours?"
Rude as could be, but then, she only wanted to aggravate Fiach and being flippant was the perfect way to do so. Pointedly ignoring the starts and grumbles he made, as he glowered down at her in his chair, still attempting to remain a good host, Adalia turned a charming smile on the man who now sat in front of her.
Might as well put on a good show, if nothing else.

Luca nodded as Fiach asked him if he would like more water.
"Please, and thank you." He said as he stood up and handed over the glass to his host. As he sat back down the sound of the main entrance being opened and then the clattering of boots made Luca turn in his chair and peer out towards the other room. As a young woman came in a puzzled look came across his face. Not for her being there, she probably already worked here, but instead the puzzlement came from the look on her face as she gazed at Fiach.
Luca accidentally allowed a surprised look pass over as the woman sat down. As she introduced herself, he regained his composure and responded to her.
"A pleasure. My name is Luca. Luca Creste." Confused as to whether or not he should shake her hand, he just smiled politely. Plus, in his mind, he was sure his dusty gray jacket would poof out some dust; and that wouldn't be good for the sparkling kitchen.

With a smile as he accepted Luca's cup, Fiach turned towards the sink to refill the glass once more. It wouldn't do, after all, to have the interview cut short due to a sore throat from talking, or for his guest to conclude he was a horrible host, and therefore a horrible boss, and simply walk out. Or never return the call if he did decide to hire him in the end. Granted, Fiach really wasn't sure he was going to hire Luca, and he was just settling himself into finding a way to politely end the interview when he heard the door to the shop bang open.
The tall man gave a start and dropped the glass into the sink at the noise, shocked at the racket that had just rung through the previously silent air, and it was with a grimace that he realized the glass had shattered in the sink. With a sigh of defeat and resignation as he heard the clomping of thick boots draw nearer, he began awkwardly cleaning up the mess he'd made, trying his best to ignore the sound of what he knew could only be his sister, and working hard not to cut himself when he winced every step she took.
A further grimace grew on his face as a shard cut into his finger and as he turned to introduce his sister to Luca, he discovered she had already flounced into his chair. Lifting his finger to his mouth to suck on it as the pain started to blossom and the blood started to want to drip onto his mostly clean floor, he stepped forward towards the table, grumbling to himself as Adalia made herself at home and introduced herself to Luca.
Shooting the poor man a helpless look, Fiach merely shrugged as he resigned himself to a day of living hell with her in the mood she clearly was in, as he turned back to the cupboard to get a new glass and fill it with water. Carefully, this time, though, so as not to break yet another glass.
It was with amusement that Adalia had caught the sight of her brother sucking on his finger out of the corner of her eyes. Though she felt a little guilty about having caused him to injure herself, she refused to let any of that show on her face, and instead grinned as the man before her responded to her...but not in the way she had imagined he would. Adalia was sure she'd have gotten a reaction at least somewhat similar to Fiach's, or a glower of disgust for interrupting a meeting, so she was surprised at the polite smile that took Luca's face and the way he introduced himself.
Catching sight of the disheveled looking clothing, she grinned and thrust her arm out over the table for him to accept her hand to shake, it would be all the more amusing if she got dusty or if the table did. She knew her poor brother would nearly have a conniption if that happened - and then he'd certainly not want to hire any new staff. And if he didn't hire any new staff, then he couldn't be rid of her.
"A pleasure to meet you, too, Luca."
Her eyes glittered with curiosity as she added with a wink, "So what business do you have with my brother?"

Again he smiled at the woman before him. She seemed nice and he couldn't help but wonder if she worked here. While she seemed to glance at the Irishman behind her he took in her person from his end of the table. Since he couldn't see all of her it was hard to register her, but after hearing the way she came in he had wondered if she liked to be the center of attention. He couldn't help but wonder if people were a certain way, it was a bad habit, but it just happened on its own. Obviously he kept everything he wondered to himself, but still, he should learn better.
"Oh!" He said as Adalia extended her hand. He had been off in his own little place he hadn't realized.
Automatically and before he realized he was doing it, Luca extended his hand and grasped the one that belonged to Adalia. He nodded only once at her and quickly withdrew his hand. No dust seemed to have come off of his jacket and for that he was grateful. Of course...It could be the light from where he was sitting and he hadn't noticed. As the woman before him winked, he felt an uncomfortable feeling hit the pit of his stomach and, in order to be polite, he nervously responded to her.
"Y-You're brother posted an ad in the newspaper and I'm here meeting with him for an interview." Short, sweet, and got to the point. He mentally scowled at himself for stuttering at the beginning, but it couldn't be helped. If placed in an uncomfortable situation or nervous, it seemed all of his sentences began with stutters. "B-But...Uh...Say are you all right Fiach?" Luca, in a pull to try to get attention from Adalia off of him, saw Fiach over at the sink with his finger in his mouth. Again automatically, he reversed the chair away from the table and stood up, wanting to help if needed.

A small wince gathered on Fiach's face as sister forcefully asked what Luca's business was in the shop, and that grimace only grew larger as Luca quickly responded. Concerned all hell would quickly break loose as soon as his sister discovered this tidbit, he took a couple of steps away from where she was sitting, just in case, all the while carrying the glass he'd yet to fill up with water. Carefully, mentally reminding himself that he had a job to do, and that it wasn't to get scared of his younger sister, he returned to his station at the sink and quickly filled the glass before giving Luca a short nod to indicate that yes, he was quite all right. A bit frightened of what his sister might do, but otherwise well.
The blood that had been trying so hard to drip from his finger had slowed to just a small swelling on his finger, and with his attention returned to the small injury, Fiach returned to the cupboards and pulled down a small first aid kit. With practiced ease, he sanitized and bandaged the small cut, a quick smile touching his face as he admired his handiwork before he returned once more to the table. This time taking a seat of his own, though he did scoot it a few inches away from his sister. One who would normally have been talking this entire time, but had merely sat there glowering at Luca after he admitted he was at .net for a job interview.
Unsure of what was upsetting her so, he gently probed, "Are you all right, Adalia?" A small wince decorating his face as he prepared himself for the onslaught he was sure was to come, a hint at the fact he was used to often be yelled at by his baby sister.
The entire time Luca and Fiach were having their short, mostly mute exchange, Adalia had sat in near silence. It wasn't that she was speechless, or even so angry she couldn't talk. It was more that she was processing the fact that her brother felt that her assistance wasn't enough - or wasn't worth his while - and so due to that he had felt the need to call on the assistance of a stranger. Someone who stuttered when he spoke from nerves, a fact that annoyed Adalia to no small extent.
It was with a carefully even tone that she smiled at Luca before saying, "Well, I hope your interview goes well, then." As a false smile touched her lips, she turned to her brother and simply gestured out of the kitchen, indicating that he ought to follow. Without another word, she stood up and strode quickly out of the kitchen at a speed that even Fiach's long legs had to move a little to keep pace with. Dutifully, her brother followed her, as she had expected, and as soon as they were out of hearing range, she began to lay into him.
She lectured him on how she couldn't believe that he didn't trust her enough to work at the shop, and in return he fired back about how the last time she'd been left to care for the shop on her own - she had left and no one had been monitoring the store. Li'tae and Trisste had been caught in the act of making out, within the store, yes, but certainly not watching it.
It was a short, but well heated argument, and in a huff, Adalia eventually flounced out of the store, threatening to lock her brother out of the house for behaving like a mean dictator.
As the door slammed, and Adalia took off, Fiach turned with a sigh to return back to the interview with Luca. With a wearied look, Fiach gave a small shrug, even though he knew it'd tear things with his sister all the more, he also knew that with her latest show of anger, hiring Luca would be not only an immense relief, but also allow him to rile her up. Get back at her a little for all the things she got after him for.
And so it was with a stern smile that Fiach announced, "Luca, you've got the job. When can you start?"
Even though he had doubts of his own, the thought of being able to dig back at his sister without even trying would be amusing. Though he knew that he'd eventually have to fix things with her, for the moment, it contented him to think that his decision would rankle her.

At Fiach's nod Luca relaxed a little, sitting back down. He hated when people were hurt and blood made him nervous. At the Irishman's words to his sibling Luca turned and immediately was happy he did not pull his chair back in. From the look on her silent face, Adalia looked on edge. Luca considered in the event of her losing it he may in fact have to throw himself out the window a la action movie style. Her fake smile, he could tell it was so, made him uneasy and he pressed himself as far back into the chair as it would allow. He nodded all the same and thanked her before she and Fiach left the room.
Once alone, Luca turned to the kitchen window, wondering if it was unlocked and how much it would hurt if he had to go through it. At the sound of raised voices he turned back to the door. He couldn't make out words, but Adalia had gone over the edge on Fiach. Luca knew it was about him and he shuddered. A sinking feeling told him his luck at getting the job was nil. He turned back to the window again just as the door slammed. The man was certain the panes of glass quivered in their frames.
As Fiach came back in, Luca stood up, going to apologize for clearly upsetting his sister for whatever reasons she had and then thanking him for the interview before making his leave with Au'ret. Luca ran his hand through his hair with his eyes lowered trying to think of how to start off without stuttering. At Fiach's remark, Luca looked up so fast he cricked his neck.
"I-I do?" His eyes were wide with shock. He realized his tone and quickly changed it. "Thank you so much Fiach. I can start whenever you want!" He shook Fiach's hand and walked to the kitchen door, still taken aback. He couldn't help smiling even though he was completely thrown through a loop. On his way out he added; "And I guarantee I'll be less scruffy in appearance the next time you see me. I promise."
