|| - Arrival - ||September 2nd, 2005Setting the last shirt from her bag within the drawer in her bedside table, Arianna let out a small breath. That was everything. Or at least, everything important. She was never good at unpacking, always leaving a few things within their boxes and only opening them when she needed them. Ah, how disorganized she was. Pushing a braid from her face she placed her hands against the ground and got herself up. She inspected her room and finally her gaze came to rest once again on the journal she had been given along with the two jars.
Picking it up and running her thumb over the cover, she hoped she'd do alright with it. She had never been good at writing in journals, always finding her life too boring to write about. Well this place sure was interesting...and from what she heard, taking care of an Aerandir would be a busy job. Moving over to her desk, she slipped into the seat and picked up a pen. Opening the journal she paused before beginning to write.Journal Entry Dear Journal(that is how to start right?),
I'm here...well here in the island. Well, I suppose I wouldn't have this if I wasn't, but I'm supposed to tell you things, right? Anyway, I got here yesterday on the boat. Well, not before I got my ticket. I'm all a jouble! Here, let me start from the beginning.
I was walking along, exploring around some shops, because I love to brouse, and this random guy runs up to me and gives me a piece of paper. Random people rarely run up to me at all, you see...I'm easily overlooked. Maybe it's because I'm short? Anyway, he gave me this paper that talked about how they need people to help save the "Aerandir".
Maybe you don't know, but I'm an animal nutt. I'll talk, save, etc. any animal I see. At camp, I would save the cabin spiders...at the movies I once saved a praying mantice and out in the woods I stopped people from harassing a snake. So, naturally, hearing about helping to save another animal was great. I went right to the place, though I still wasn't exactly sure what an Aerandir was.
A man there explained everything to me, about how they really needed volunteers and such. I wasn't doing anything at the time and needed a good place to stay...and besides, this sounded so amazing! I signed up on the spot! He then gave me two jars...one with a Hyacinth Macaw feather and another with the tail hairs of a Zebra. This was to be my Aerandir...in time I suppose.
Ok, so I got my ticket and came to this island. I believe it's the Ar'Idil island. It's HUGE! I loved all the wild life and vegatation here. It was so beautiful. I wish I had a camera, though I suppose I wouldn't have anywhere to develope the film. I went to the lodge and picked out my house. I picked #7 because it was on the edge of the group and looked like it had plenty of room for a garden later. I'm not much of a gardener, but we'll see.
I unpacked mostly today. I made a special place on my desk to put the jars. I'll probably spend alot of time here since I like to write and such. They'll always be in view, which is a comforting thought. I must say I'm a little nervous about being here, though. I don't know anyone and I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to do. I have an idea, but, you know me, always wanting detailed directions so I don't screw up.
Hopefully I can go meet the other volunteers later...and maybe and Aerandir or two. That would be so exciting! Well, until later, journal. =)
-Arianna Keeylis Ari slipped the journal shut, feeling a small ache in her wrist. Ah, the joys of writing non stop, she thought. Lifting herself from her chair, she dropped her pencil and headed over to the ladder. She made her way downstairs, hoping to get something to fill her craving for food.

||-Musings-||September 3, 2005Ari stretched back her arms, feeling her muscles loosen from their stiff positions of sleep. Letting her hands fall back to her side she yawned a little and stood up. Moving across the room she picked up two sketches she had set aside and went to her desk. Rubbing one eye drosily, she sat down in her chair and pushed open the cover. Moving to the second page, she slipped the two sketches inside and began to write.Entry Dear Journal,
What am I doing writing at this time in the morning, you ask? Well...I'm really not sure myself. I am FAR from being a morning person. Usually I lazy around until I'm more awake and then do something...but this morning I have too much on my mind for that.

Ever since I got my jars I just can't stop thinking about them. Is that strange? I suppose it may be...but I'm strange so it's ok. See, I kept thinking about things like...what would a Macaw and a Zebra look like as one creature? Would it be able to fly? The Hyacinth Macaw is the largest parrot, but does that mean it'll have enough wing support to fly with a body of a Zebra?
What parts will be Macaw and what will be Zebra? I do hope it has Zebra ears...for some reason I just love them...they're just so big and expressive! Now, heres a big question as well...would it be a girl or a boy? I can only think so long on such things for I can't do anything about them at the moment. Ah well. It's fun to imagine.
I plan to go meet my neighbors today, if I can. I wonder if anyone else here just got their jars and is musing like me? Maybe we could share ideas. =) Well, off to fully wake up...
-Arianna Keeylis Slipping from her chair, she stood, stretching again. Glancing out the window at the early morning sun, she let out a tired sigh. Ahhh, morning. She moved over and went down the ladder carefully, hoping for maybe some hot chocolate below.

|| - Vial? - ||
September 3, 2005 Ari shifted through a box idly, only half paying attention to the remaining items she dug out. Sure, she was unpacked, but that didn't mean everything had a place to be shown off. She actually liked keeping things away in small boxes or bags...others might think this a lazy gesture, but she knew it to be a way to keep track of things.
Within one of the boxes she found a bunch of blank journals...she had a habit of buying them and never using them. Strange as it sounded, she really liked to write her stories in journal books. It gave her more a thrill. Running a finger over the green cover of the one on the top, she smiled. Maybe she could use them later.
Suddenly she heard a clink within the box and winced. What could she have in there that was breakable? She thought she had covered everything like that in tissue paper. She shifted the items around a little until she was able to see a small vial. It was filled with a violet liquid and had a note taped onto it.
She lifted it carefully out and turned it around within her hands so she could read the paper clearly,Essence Note Dear owner,
We thank you for your purchase of this essence. The essence inclosed is that of a house cat. It shall be female. You chose upon your purchase to have the colors brown, white, and violet included. You also chose to have features like that of a puffy hat, were wolf tail, solor-headdress(wing-armlets), and braids. You have given it the name Shasta and it should evolve within a few weeks. This should only be a reminder, since you signed on most of these things yourself. Ari blinked and looked at the vial. She smiled for a moment and let out a breath, "Ahhh! I remember...I bought this before I came here..." She felt suddenly happy and attentive. As much as she hated to admit it, she had missed having cats around since leaving her home. They had just been so loving and cuddly. She had known her Aerandir wouldn't be like that...at least not in the same way and had been slightly homesick. Finding this made her feel extremely well.
She moved over and placed the vial and the note by the jars upon her desk. Eventually she'd have two new friends sharing her house. On this happy thought, she put the box away and went to read a good book.(( Note: Shasta was purchased today. No such notice was really sent out. All this is only for plot purposes. =3 ))

|| - Surprise Letter - ||
September 6, 2005 Ari climbed up the ladder and into the bed room. She was dressed in shorts and light clothing. Apparently she had been ready to go outside for a long period of time. There were even traces of sun block visable on her skin, not rubbed in all the way. She was full of energy, but despite this she walked over to her desk. Sitting down, she pulled out her journal and a piece of paper which she slipped into the pages.
Taking a pencil she paused for a moment. Thinking of exactly what to write and how to express herself she remained that way for a moment. She then began to write quickly, barely keeping her hand writing neat.Entry Dear Journal,
I was going out for a while to study some of the plants in the area. I wanted to do this because I had planned on planting some things before my house. Obviously I couldn''t just plant any old thing out here, so I wanted to go see what grew locally. Much to my surprise I found a letter on the door! It read:
Dear Arianna Keeylis , I am happy to note that the accomodation you were allocated has now reached a stage which is suitable for your Aerandir items to be placed together within a single bottle. This will allow for them to "merge" - admittedly, however, this process may take some time.
The reason I am writing to you is to confirm that we have a name for your Aerandir for our records. Further study of the evidence gleaned from your artifacts has shown that it is 87% likely to be female. I included this information with the hope of perhaps aiding you in choosing a name. If you could get back to me with haste I will arrange for all of the formalities to be completed so that we may start you on your way as an Aerandir guardian.
Yours sincerely,
Anthony Blakewell, Ar'' Idil Administrator.
87% female?! Wow, that almost ensures it will be a girl! I''m so happy! Though I wouldn''t have minded having a boy, I''m sure a girl will be easier to deal with simply because...well...I''m a girl. =)
I ran right to get my naming book, which was on my bookshelf down stairs....it took me a while to find, though. Then I went through tons of names and pages trying to find the right one. To tell the truth I couldn''t decide between three names at first...Alina, Rawiya, and Valisa. I ended up going with Rawiya because it somehow seemed to...fit better.
Now I wonder even more what she''ll look like...I''m sure she''ll be beautiful! How could she not be, being made from a Zebra and Macaw? I suppose I''ll just have to look for plants another day...I''m far too excited to go out right now...I''d ignore all the plants I saw!
-Arianna Keeylis Moving from her chair, and almost knocking it over in the process, she bounced across the room. She scuttled down the ladder again, starting to hum at random.

|| -- Flower Petals and a Jar -- ||
September 7, 2005 Arianna moved into her home on the lower, level, her steps dragging across the floor. She looked rather winded, but there was a smile formed upon her lips. Her hair was a mess and her braids nearly undone. She had been out walking in the rainforest all morning, examening flowers and other plants. It showed too, for her clothes had some stains of green upon them and her backpack was covered in brambles.
She set the bag down upon the chair near the harth and tried to brush some of the dirt off her clothing. However, she was interupted by a knock at the door. She blinked in surprise and shifted her violet gaze to the door. She quickly moved over to it and pulled it open...however, no one was there. Instead there was one jar at on the porch, with a note beside it.
The jar contained the blue feather and black tail hairs from her other two jars and had a lable with "Rawiya" upon it. Feeling a slight panic, she picked up the jar and hurried upstairs. She wasn't exactly sure why she was acting like that...perhaps it was because she hadn't noticed the jars being taken away to put the two items together int he first place. As she found her desk, to her relief, the two other jars were gone...at least, she thought it was relief. She reasoned that the person who had sent her the letter asking for a name had simply come and made the change...it was that simple.
Letting out a sigh, she moved over to the desk and set the jar where the other two had been. Taking a seat she lazily pulled open the journal, taking up a pencil as well. After along pause to calm down, she began to write. Entry Dear Journal,
Ok...I'm just going to start from the beginning of the day to get my rant about pointless stuff over with. I went out this morning with my sketch book again and went to study the plants for my guarden in the making. I saw alot of flowers I wanted...but I was extremely impressed by the Passion Flower. It makes passion fruit and it attracks birds and butterflies. It sounds perfect. I didn't have time to draw them...so I just jotted down names instead...since I have been using a few books to help me identify things.
Anyway, when I came home I heard a knock on the door. It was strange, because I don't know anyone who would be visiting. Anyway, when I opened the door I found one jar with both my feather and tail hairs in it! I kinda freaked, thinking I had done something wrong or lost them or something...cause I never realized they had been gone in the first place. Well...at least I now know my Aerandir is one it's way to becoming flesh...that is what one jar means, doesn't it?
Anyway...I feel better now...and I guess I'm excited! Oh, goodness...I need to do something to get this adrenaline rush out of my system.
-Arianna Keeylis Ari stood, and went over to her bed, flopping upon it's surface. A blue flower petal fluttered down upon the floor, unnoticed in the shimmering sunlight through the window.

|| -- First Friendships -- ||September 7 - 17, 2005WyvernScale Motivation was much like a steel trap for Wyv; it either clamped on to her fiercely, or missed her entirely. Had this motivation been an actual steel trap instead of just a metaphorical one, she'd be in a world of hurt right now. She peered questioningly at the note Anthony had left up. Did she have any of those items? Her memory failed her however and she gave it up with a shrug, making a mental note to go and check later and re-focused on the task at hand. With precise, patient motions, the machinist tacked her own notice on the board, done in rather large and scrawling hand writting. the message FIRST(hopefully)ANNUAL AR'IDIL HORROR-FEST!From the brilliant minds that haven't brought you anything yet! Chao and Wyv propose BBQ/water-fight/movie watching extravaganza! B.Y.O.B.M. (Bring your own B-Movie) The cheesier, the better! Plot is not required! And since we've got some young'uns around, the real horrorfest will wait until after bedtime. The water fight would consist of two teams: Humans vs Zombies (team names subject to change) and lots of red and green food dye. If you're interested, have suggestions or anything of the like, feel free to comment. Wyv finished by attaching a pen to a string and hanging it next to her message. "There," she said, quite satissfied. "Wachoo think, bloo?" She turned to look for Makai, who had been attacking her shoe laces. ...had being the key word. "Bloo?" Ary Keeyara Arianna walked down from her home all the way across the area to the lodge. She had come to see if there were perhaps any books here on the local plants. Secretly she hoped she'd meet some of her neighbors as well. She had been inside her home for the past few days, making sure everything was ready and keeping up with her duties and writings. It got rather lonely at times and she didn't have anyone else living with her at the moment.
She saw another woman at the lodge not far away, apparently tacking up a notice on the board. That was helpful to know...they had a notice board. She smiled a little to herself and went to see it. Upon reaching the board, she stood on her toes so she could see if fully. Sometimes being short was a hazzard.
After reading the notice she glanced at Wyv. She smiled a little, though she still felt a tad shy, "Ah...it's sounds fun...was it your idea...?" She knew the topic was a little...well...stupid, but hey, it was better then nothing at all. WyvernScale "Hmm...?" Belatedly, Wyv turned, realizing she was being addressed. Oh, hey, there was a person! And not one she was accquainted with. She didn't look familiar. New guardians on the island? And no one said anything? She had the urge to put something wet and slime in someone's bed, but she wasn't sure who. "Yep!" Wyv puffed out her chest in an inflated show of pride. "Well, Chao helped. It was a mutual thing. This place hasn't been too active since the Summer Festival and I wasn't here for that." Her face darkened slightly, thoughts of that time brought up bad memories, but they quickly passed, shoved out of the way. She'd deal with her problems on her own time. "... actually, I think we decided on horror films mostly to have a splash fight. Or something." She was rambling now. She gave a sheepish grin. "But if you're not the only person new to the island, maybe we can turn it into a welcome fest!" Her face split into a wide grin. "Any excuse to party," the green-haired woman proclaimed, hre grin turning impish. Abruptly, her grin vanished. "Oh, hey, you didn't perhaps see a little blue and tan torpedo on your way over here? I seem to have misplaced mine." Ary Keeyara Ari listened as the other woman talked, not wanting to interupt. She gave a small nod of her head, still seeming a little quiet. Perhaps she was still awkward? Well...that did happen around those she didn't know, "Ah...I see...sounds interesting..." She wondered if there were, infact, more new people on the island like her. It was a slightly comforting thought. Perhaps she wasn't the only one who wasn't sure what they were doing.
Hearing the question she blinked. She wasn't exactly sure what Wyv was talking about. She glanced about, "Ah...blue and tan torpedo?...I...don't think so." Ari realized that it was mostly likely not a torpedo...but she wasn't exactly sure what it COULD be. An Aerandir perhaps? WyvernScale "He likes to wander off," she explained, oblivious to the other woman's hesitance and more than slight confusion. "I know there aren't any beasties that could really hurt him or anything around here, but still..." she trailed off into a grimace and a shrug. "It's bad form." Sliding around on the floors was fun! The halls were so much wider and longer than thsoe at home. But now, his curiosity was sated from scampering about the bigwideplace and he wanted a scritch or two. So carefully, stealthily, Makai crept back to where he had left his Green One.
And there was another One with her! He liked the big ones, 'cause they were big! Even if this one wasn't as big as the others. He scooted closer, wondering if her shoe laces tased good. Ary Keeyara Ah! He must be her Aerandir, Ari concluded mentally. She didn't believe this woman would talk about anyone else that way. She gave a small nod, parting her lips to say something when something blue at the corner of her eye caught her attention.
"Oh!" There she potted the Aerandir. It was blue and brown and a little smaller then she expected...but then, she didn't know what animals he was of. Finding him extremely adorable, she couldn't hold back an "awwwwwww". She bent down so she could see him better, wondering if she could pet him, "Is this him?" WyvernScale Wyv turned and couldn't help but smile. She remembered her own reaction to a real live Aerandir gryphlet. "Yep, that's him." Makai forgot about shoelaces as the not-so-big one made herself even smaller. He whistled a few times, mimicing Wyv's tone pitch-for-pitch as he bounded closer to Ary, placing both forepaws on her leg."He does that when he wants to be picked up." Wyv's voice was warm, bordering on gushing. Makai was a subject close to her heart. "He likes to feeling things out with his paws and his beak, so he might n** you a bit." A stunned expression flitted across her face. "I'm an idiot." She shook her head, green spikes swishing back and forth. "His name is Makai and he's a Blue Swallow/Cape Otter mix. And you can call me Wyvern's Scale. Pleased ta meetcha." Ary Keeyara Ari smiled and reached forward, running a few fingers over his smooth feathered head. She felt her heart shutter with excitement and warmth. She always loved animals...of any kind, to be honest, but this was truly amazing for her. Carefully she picked him up from under his front legs and then moved one of her hands under his hind ones, holding him slightly against her shoulder and chest. This was a position she commonly held her cats in, and seemed comfortable enough for the animal in question. She smiled at Wyv, "Well my name is Arianna Keeylis...Ari for short. Please to meet you AND Makai." WyvernScale Scritches were always nice. The gryphlet trilled happily as he was lifted from the ground. He poked and prodded- gently though, he had leant his lesson well- about Ari's personage. She smelled... warm. Like Wyv's tools after they'd sat in the sun for too long. Not unpleasant, but different. He whistled a question at her, staring intently as he tried to mimic the pitch of her voice. Wyv grinned. "Likewise for him too, I'm sure," she said with a nod of her head. Makai liked her- but then, Makai liked everybody for the most part. "So how long've you been out here? I figured there would've been an announcement or something. There were, what, four of us on the original voyage." Ary Keeyara Ari didn't mind the proding at all, for she was used to nips, pokes, and the like. In response to his thrill, she scratched his head again, smilling, "Oh?" She then glanced at Wyv again to reply to her question. She had to think for a moment, "Ah...well...only a few days really. I'm very new." She wondered how many people were here now, if four had been the original number. WyvernScale Wyv looked thoughtful. "Well, There was me, Sin, Chao, Jizzy... and Abby, so that's five... And then there's Anthony, the administrator, so you makes seven?" She shrugged. "I've gotten so used to a half empty village, you'd think I'd notice people moving in." Makai gave a whistle that was pure otter at his green one. He had noticed, even if she hadn't.Ary Keeyara "Well...that's just like saying that I should have met my neighbors by now," Ari said with a sheepish grin. She had been so busy in her home that she hadn't found time to meet anyone until today...which was rather sad, since she had been here at least 4 days or so. You'd think she would have met someone on the first or second. WyvernScale The otter-gryph heaved a mewling sigh. They were hopeless. He nudged Ari's shoulder with his head. His message was clear: enough with the chit-chat, make with the pampering."I met everyone on the first day," Wyv admitted. "But that's just because we were all on the boat together. The only person I really know is Chao, 'cause she watched my jars for me while I had to leave the island for some personal business." Secretly, Wyv was proud. She'd managed to finish that statement without any change in her inflection. See? She didn't have to let herself be burried by the past. "So..." She wasn't sure where to go from here. "I'd offer you a tour, but I still really don't know where anything is, save for the lodge, my house, and my fishing spot." Ary Keeyara Ari began to stroke him again, easily doing it while conversing with Wyv. She had had practice with such things, for her cats had been like that years ago. What Wyv said made sense. "Well...no one else was with me on the boat...and..." She paused and said in slight embaressment, "I'm not the best at meeting new people..." It was very strange...she was only shy around people she didn't know...everyone else she was easy going and relaxed with. WyvernScale Wyv's face lit up. "All the more reason for you to come ot our horror-fest or whatever it mutates into! Everyone here is fairly nice, you'd meet people just by being there. And food is always a good conversation starter," she finished with a satisfied nod. Truth was, Wyv wasn't that good on meeting peopl either, much prefering not to intrude on personal space. But Ar'Idil was her home and these people were her neighbors and so they lost some of the aspect of being strangers to her. They were, after all, a community. Makai made happy little sounds. He absolutely adored being fussed over. He crooned softly, imitating each sound the two women were making to the best of his ability.Ary Keeyara Ari gave a nod, her hand continuing to stroke the Aerandir almost machanically. She couldn't help but chuckle a little at Wyv's comment about food. Oh, yes, talking about food was probably the most desperate conversaion starter ever. Yet, it worked most of the time, which was very strange. "I'll come...even if I'm not a horror movie fan or anything..." She smiled, rather glad she had come out and met Wyv today. WyvernScale Wyv smiled back, a much warmer and welcoming smile than her usual. "That's okay. If all goes according to plan, we'll have a bunch of cheesy horror films to run our own version of MST3K to. That's always fun." The older woman turned to Makai, craddled comfortably as he was in Ari's arms. "Now c'mon there, Bloo. We gotta get back home. Music lessons, and all that jazz." Now, she looked at Ary. "You wanna walk with? So you know where I live. You could come over and visit Makai 'n' me whenever you'd like." Ary Keeyara Ari reluctantly shifted her arms and set the Aerandir down. He was such a sweet heart, she kinda felt sad that she had to let him go. She supposed she could visit though, if she went with them to see where they lived. With another pat on his head she looked up at Wyv, "Sure...that sounds handy...after all, you are the only one I really know for the time being." WyvernScale Makai fussed. He didn't want to be put down, but home was a good place to be. And music was fun! Even if he didn't know why and his green one really had no idea what she was teaching. He nipped playfully at Ari's shoelaces and the lopped ahead. He paused and looked back over his shoulder, as if to say, "What are you waiting for? Let's go!""Alright! We're off then." With a cry at her ward not to get too far out of sigh, Wyv started towards home. Ary Keeyara Ari giggled a little at Makai as he attacked her shoe laces and then raced ahead. He seemed so full of energy...it was very refreshing to watch. She followed along side Wyv, hoping that her home wasn't too far from theirs. It'd just be more convienant if they were close...but she supposed walking wouldn't hurt her, either.(( Omg! *eats the sucky post* Horrible! )) WyvernScale Makai bounded along, racing ahead, then lowing until the duo passed him, then zigzaging from side to side to end up in front again, but always making sure they were in sight. He liked his green one happy and if this kept her happy, it was a small price to pay to not go after all the intersting other things. He could always investigate them later. Wyv marched on, keeping a running comentary going- on the ground, on the trees, on what fish she'd caught. She wasn't usually so chatty, but felt obligated to make her shy companion feel welcome. She stopped mid-word about her latest catch. Wow, that long seemed to take longer to than from. Wyv gestured with a flourish. "Welcome to my residence. Make yourself at home." (( Yay for side-stepping dialog! And likewhoa, I wandered off screen and back in the town and there's like 70bazillion people there now. )) Ary Keeyara Ari listened with interest, jumping into the conversation on occasion to comment on the subject from her past experience. She had travled a lot before coming here and had seen many things. Yet despite this, she still held with her within her personality a sense of innocence she couldn't shake. Finally seeing the house she looked surprise and smiled, "Oh! This is your home? We live next to each other then!" The turned her head and pointed not far off, "That's my home over there!"(( I like...couldn't find you, so I left the towns. xD )) WyvernScale A look astonishment plastered itself across her face. "... really?" Wyv blinked. Numerous times. "Wow, I really AM oblivious." She shook her head. "Well, that makes the visiting part easier, I guess." She grinned. Makai clicked his beak in frustration. Yep, hopeless. (( I don't even know where I am anymore. But I caught a firefly! Yayness. and I think that's all from me for a while. Reality calls. >< )) Ary Keeyara Ari laughed, looking a little embaressed as well, "That goes for me too, I suppose...can't believe I didn't notice and come to see who lived there..." She flushed a little, but smiled none the less. "Yes...this shall make visiting easier..." She paused and glanced about. After a moment she said, "Well...I must be returning to my home...I've got some work to do. I'll see you again later!" With a friendly wave, Ari headed to her home, glad to have made some new friends.(( *waves* ))

|| -- Essence of Cat -- ||
September 22, 2005 The patter of shoes upon the wodden surface of the ladder rang out suddenly in the once silent house. Ari's head soon appeared in the opening in the floor as she pulled herself up into the bed room. As she stood she ran her fingers over her clothes, brushing off what appeared to be cat hair. With a content shrug, she moved over to the her desk and went to her jounal once more.Entry Dear Journal,
I have no written in about a week due to the fact that I had to leave for the mainland for a while. Well...I really only had to go there for about a day or so, but since there is only a ferry once a week I had to stay longer. I have to admit I was extremely nervous about being away for so long-for I didn't trust myself to bring the jar and yet I feared something would happen if I left them.
Though I wanted to get a little shopping done and visit a few people the main reason I had to go was that my vial started to glow white. Well, it really just faded into a pearly shade, but still. I remembered that that meant it was time for it to be brought back to emmerge. If I didn't go back, she might never become her true self.
So I took the ferry early in the morning and had breakfast on the mainland. I did my erands first, to get them out of the way. Then I went back to the Essence Kenals.
When I got there it was rather empty, but the Owner, Kai, and her Essence were there. I showed them the vial and they took me into a back room. It was extremely cold in there, so much that I was shaking. Kai seemed fine with it, so I wasn't really worried. Then she dropped the vial and it broke!
At first I freaked out, thinking that it wasn't supposed to happen. But then I saw that the liquid that had been within the tub was moving about on the ground. It was slowly coming together, molding into the shape of a cat. Not a normal cat, but one with a hat and winged armlets. Her fur was brown, lavender, and white, far from a normal coat pattern.
I was thrilled! She was so beautiful and she was sweet as could be! I had named her Shasta as a vial and that is what she remains. What happened afterward on the mainland was far froming being as exciting. I visited a few friends and then, when the next ferry came, headed back here to the isle with my new cat.
I truly couldn't be happier. Perhaps the house won't feel so lonely anymore.
-Arianna Keeylis Setting down her pen, Ari heard a meow behind her. Turning, she saw the Essence in question sitting upon her bed, her fuzzy tail curled around her feet.

Smiling, Ari stood and went over to her, deeming it a good time to relax in the company of her new companion.

|| -- For the love of Brownies! -- ||
September 22-??? 2005 Ary Keeyara Arinna pulled the door to the Lodge open in a smooth movement, stepping inside quickly. Her attention seemed to be focused upon the names listed upon a page in her sketch book, however. She hadn't been able to get the information on them that she truly wanted. Hopefully she'd be able to find it within the mini-library here.
A brown, white, and lavender shape slunk past her legs before the door shut. The strange looking cat glanced around the room, her white eyes not appearing to move at all. Loping along the wooden floor, she bounded up upon the couch and settled into a comfortable position to watch anything that might happen.
Ari, seeing Shasta go by, blinked. She hadn't known she had come along. Shrugging it off lightly, she turned and walked toward the door leading to the room that contained books and other sources of information that might be useful. Jizzy Jazz Stupid.. poopy.. headed.. door. The tiny Aerandi was pushing hard with his side on the door to the lodge, but the dumb door wouldn't open for him. He grunted and huffed pushing harder, but not even a budge. It wasn't until his mother arrived that the door decided to open for him and he burst inside, hooping triamphanly.Jizzy chuckled slightly as she pushed open the door for Tobias. He must think he opened that door by himself, well, perhaps better to let him. Tobias was rather touchy about his size. "Hello?" Jizzy called out into the lodge, hoping someone was there. She hadn;t had much company lately. Ary Keeyara Shasta turned her head to gaze lazily at the strange creature entering along with the woman with him. Her tail flickered to the side slightly, but she seemed rather passive toward their precense. She was quite a strange sight, with a hat and winged armlets, but then many things upon this island were strange.
Ari blinked upon hearing the voice. She had been flipping through the pages of a book, sitting upon the floor. She glanced over her shoulder slightly and then set it down. Someone else must have come in. She peeked out of the library room to catch sight of Jizzy. She smiled and gave a small waving motion, "Ah...hello!" Jizzy Jazz Tobias heard the noises and looked up to see one bigthing like mother and another new thing!. Tobias hooped in gleee and rushed over to Shasta, clicking a greeting while jumping up and down, his spines rustling as he did so.Jizzy smjiled and waved back. 'Hello.. You must be one of the new guardians.. I'm Jizzy.. Pleasure to meet you." She said, walking over to ehr and extending a hand in greeting. Ary Keeyara Shasta cocked her head slightly to the side, her one visable ear twitching. What was this thing doing? And what was that strange sound he was making. She opened her mouth slightly in a meow, causing her wiskers to rise and fall for a brief moment.
Ari smiled and gave a nod, "Yes...I am. I'm Arianna...but you can call me Ari." She reached out and shook Jizzy's hand lightly, "Nice to meet you too." Her gaze shifted slightly to see Tobias and she seemed to brighten even more. Another Aerandir! This was only the second one she had seen and he was quite different from Makai. Jizzy Jazz Tobias heard the sound and jumped around. He'd never heard that sound before. He leapt up to Shasta's leg, brushing his head on it, as a sign of affection. He was in a wonderuflly good mood.Jizzy nodded, commiting the name to memory. "Ari.. It's a nice name." She commented absentmindedly. She floowed Ari's gazed and smiled when it feel upon Tobias. "I'll take it yours is still in a jar. It's amazing when they come out.. I consider myself very lucky to have seen several emerge." Ary Keeyara Shasta didn't hiss or arch her back, but she did take a small step away from the Aerandir. She hadn't met one before and he was farm from normal looking! Besides, she wasn't so keen on those spikes he had either.
"Thank you," Ari said with a sheepish smile about the comment of her name. Then she nodded once more, "Yes...mine is still within a jar..." She paused for a moment and then asked, "How....how does it happen exactly? When they come out?" Jizzy Jazz Tobias hooped softly and sadly. Why was the cool thing walking away from him. His quills drooped slightly and he clicked sadly to the cat. He just wanted to be friends.Jizzy's eyes brightened at the memory. "Well, first the jar shatters. We were some of the first to see it so we though we'd done something wrong, but the jar breaking is perfectly normal. Then this glowing or comes out and then.. the Aerandir is there, from the orb. It's.. you'd have to see it yourself." Jizzy said, smiling and sighing softly. She'd gotten rather into her story, telling it with wild hand gestures and everything. Ary Keeyara Shasta watched him with critical white orbs. She was still uncertain about this creature. He seemed friendly, but those spikes did not. She was far from being stupid and she didn't want to get pricked! She meowed in response to his click, but did not move closer.
Ari looked amazed and exicted. It sounded amazing! She couldn't wait to see it happen! She smiled at Jizzy, "Wow...it sounds...wonderful...thanks for telling me about the breaking bit." She knew that if she had not been told this piece she would have paniced when it did break in the future. Jizzy Jazz Tobias looked up at the meow and hooped. Maybe he sttill wanted to be friends. He leaped around and then set off in a small hobble, stopping, looking back and shaking his head forward. Shasta and he would go exploring!Jizzy chuckled slightly at Ari's enthusiasm. She'd felt the same way, but now with Tobias being the little troublemaker he was, well. She was a bit less exited and a bit more tired most of the time. "Yes. I panicked myself when it happened. I thought it might be nice for you to know.." Ary Keeyara Shasta simply stared at him, making no effort of moving. Who said she wanted to go exploring? She was very happy with the seat she had and the view as well. She could see almost everything in the room from here.
Ari smiled and gave a small nod. She was sure many people had...but now perhaps she could prevent that reaction. "Well...thanks again for the warning."((*eats crappy post* Nuhhh. >.< )) Jizzy Jazz TObias stopped in his tracks and hooped again. He wanted to explore with his new friend.. He jumped up and down a few times, ran to Shasta then ran back to his spot. Exploring time!Jizzy nodded. "Anytime.." She said, sniffled randomly and set off towards the kitchen. This is odd. SHe felt rather lightheaded. She shook it off quickly. "Join me for some brownies? I'm in the mood for chocolate." Ary Keeyara Shasta settled all her weight upon her four feet, as she remained on the couch back. She meowed at him, but did not move. Maybe she didn't feel like exploring. Couldn't this funny creature see that?
Ari couldn't help but laught. Brownie cravings, hm? Well, she knew what it was like to have sugar cravings, which was almost the same. She nodded and hurried after Jizzy, grinning, "Sure!" Jizzy Jazz Tobias gave a sad hoop and shuffled hismelf over to Shasta's perch, clicking an hooping in a pleasding manner. He didn't want to sit around all day like this. He wasnted to explore and to find thing and have fun.. He ran around in a small circle, falpping his tiny jumps and jumpin about. He wanted to pllaaaay.Jizzy smiled and ducked into the fridge. "I know I had some batter ready from before.." She muttered and sniffled again. Was she getting sick? No, that was imposible.. She pulled out a bowl full of a dark brown batter and smirked. "Freshly baked.." She said and began to prepare the batter in a tray. Ary Keeyara Shasta began to find the creature way to energetic. Perhaps she should go find a new sitting spot attop a bookshelf or something. It would not do to have him come up and try to push her into activity...she still was extremely wary of his quills. Hopping down, she loped lightly over to the library room, who's door had been left open.
Ari moved into the kitchen with a smile, "Well that's handy." She moved over to the ovan and began to bring it to the correct temperature for brownies. Or at least, the kind she usually made were about this high. Jizzy Jazz Tobias hooped and followed eagerly, mistaking her reluctance for a wish to explore. He entered the library and looked around, losing a bit of interest in his furry friend."I made a bit to much last time, so I just keep the rest of the batter in the freezer till I need it." SHe said and moved to the oven. SHe smiled upon seeing the temperature was already set and simply plopped thm in. "Thank you.." Ary Keeyara Shasta walked into the library, her white gaze traveling about the dusty shelves. Crouching back, she jumped up onto a desk and then leaped to the top of a shelf. She shifted around slightly and then settled herself into a comortable lying position. Such should have been her obvious dislike for the exploring idea.
Ari smiled and nodded, "No problem...though I'm not much a off a cook myself, so I'm rather surprised I got the right temperature...since I don't tend to remember such things." She rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly at her own comment. Jizzy Jazz Tobias hooped and jumped around the library, examining anything and everything that he saw. He began running around and witha loud BAN, he collided head-first with the bookcase. Tobias yeleped as a barrage of books came plummeting towards hi and he leapt out of the way before we was entirely crushed.."I'm sure you have your strenghts.. Being naught but a cook can sometimes prove a disadvantage.." She said smirking and taking a seat by the table. Ary Keeyara Shasta let out a hiss as her fur bristled. She quickly darted away, her reflexes snapping into action. She jumped from the shelf onto the desk, right before the books spilled out onto the floor where Tobias had been. She tried to settle back down, but have a Tobias a irratated yowl for causing such a mess.
"Well...yes...but they don't usually help me when I'm hungry," Ari grinned. Blacksmithing and magic weren't always good to mix with preparing food...so she usually had simple things and ate them over and over again. Jizzy Jazz Tobias gave a shudder as the dust settled and the book bombing ended. he crept out towards them, a few opne, most closed or upside down. Helooked onto the pages of one. What odd symbols.. Pretty too.. He began to trace them absentmindedly with his beak.."Maybe we could help each other out then. My cooking skills in exchange for.. what did you say you could do again?" She asked, even though she knew perfectly well Ary hadn't said what it was she could do. Ary Keeyara Shasta shifted, letting her fur settle back into a smooth coat as she relaxed. It seemed the strange create was calming down, so there shouldn't be any more toppled shelves. She curled her tail around her feet and brought her head down the table top, ready to try for a nap.
"Ah...um...Blacksmithing, Magic, and...a little writing," Ari said, counting them off on her fingers as she looked upward in thought. She wasn't exactly sure how any of these could help her new friend, but hey, you never know.

|| -- Shattered -- ||
September 29, 2005 For some reason the darkness of sleep slipped away from Ari in the middle of the night, waking her for no reason. There wasn't any deam that faded away or a buzzing sound of an alarm, nor a need to use the privary. She just found herself awake when the moment before she had been sound asleep.
She sat there for a while, thinking she had just had an odd turn and tried to close her eyes again. However, there was a nagging feeling in her mind she could shake. Perhaps she did need to relieve herself? With a sigh of annoyance she reached out and felt the switch upon her light and turned it on. Slipping out of bed she trudged toward the ladder, planning on heading down and getting it over with.
However, how that she was up she noticed something strange. There was a dull glow coming from her desk, muffled by the light of her bedside lamp. She squinted and moved closer, trying to find out what it was. Then her eyes slowly slide wide as she realized it was the feather and hair within the jar!
Just that moment there was the sound of glass shattering, pieces of the clear material scattering upon the desk. The glow grew brighter, to the point where she almost didn't want to look at it. But her heart was going a hundred miles and hour, for she knew it must be time! Her Aerandir was here!

The glow was bright, sparkling. As the glass shattered, the glow seemed to coalesce and become something moving, living, breathing. Faint stripes, a blue feather here and there emerged.
The glass seemed to be pushed back by the sheer force of this transformation, glistening in its brilliance as it toppled over the edge of Ary's desk. From hoof to tip, Rawiya emerged. She was an explosion of colour and energy. She was here.

The desk shook from the impact and pappers scattered everywhere in a dizzy of motion. The journal clattered to the floor and pencils rolled off to join it. Rawiya landed upon the wood with a loud thumb, her hooves making quiet the racket as she did so. She slipped onto her rump, her hind legs bending forward to met her front ones as she sat. Her neck lowered until the camotion settled down, her large ears folded back in exagerated distress.
Ari could only stare, for Rawiya was so like what she had imagined and yet so much more amazing. Anyone could imagine something, but few could ever see these imaginations come to life right before their eyes. And that is what Rawiya had just did. The colors of blue, white, and black clashed and yet meshed together in a way that you could not think how such a creature would not be possible.
Once everything had settled down Rawiya lifted her head slightly, peeking her orbs open. She then scrambled to her feet, looking rather comical in the act, and raced behind Ari with a bray sounding like a donkey who had been given helium. Her weight seemed to cause the floor to rattle and shake, which Ari did not think was a good thing. Rawiya would not be quiet, apparently trying to tell her something. Ari had a feeling she was making a fuss about being attacked by paper and books. Was she easily scared like that?
Stroking her dark beak, Ari whispered soothing words to calm her, "Hush, it's alright, you're ok. That's a pretty girl." She began to calm down, her ears slowly pulling forward. Then, moving away from Ari, she began to strut about, as though she had conquered some great evil or accomplished a great feet. Again Ari heard the rattle of the floor boards and began to fear for their safty.
But how in the world would she get Rawiya down the ladder? Ari suddenly felt extremely stupid! How coud she have not thought that a zebra macaw mix would be large? She should have left the jar downstairs or something. Feeling a little paniced, she tried to get Rawiya to stop moving about so and come back, "Rawiya, come here please."
The gryffin stopped in mid strut and her ears flattened back in irration. Couldn't her 'mother' see she was busy? With a click of her beak she walked over to Ari, her hooves hitting the floor harder then nessasary to show her sulky attitude. Ari felt herself reeling from the sudden changes in mood. It seemed she'd have her hands full.
Peeking down the ladder, she finally said to her new friend, "You're going to have to jump, before you end up breaking the floor...I think your wings should make it so you don't hurt yourself." She hoped anyway. Her heart was racing and she felt like wringing her hands together, which was a terrbily femine habit. Rawiya bent over to look down the hole, almost as if she was going to jump...
And then she balked. She scrambled away, her motions clusmy and careless. The floor began to vibrate and creak from the strain. Ari felt her heart skip a beat as this burst out so suddenly. She jumped forward, racing after her Aerandir, "No! No, Rawiya, stop!" Ari seemed to go every direction Ari was NOT. She felt like she was chasing a rabid animal or a stray cat.
By sheer luck Ari moved to a position where Rawiya had to choose the hole or her. Without thinking, she pushed off of the floor boards and jumped right through the opening, landing with a squawk and a thump upon the floor below. Things were quiet for a long moment, for the floor had stopped shaking, until Rawiya began to make quiet alot of noise below, braying terribly.
Ari hurried down the ladder, fearing the worst. Oh why, why had she been so stupid? Now her precious Aerandir could be hurt or dying or something horrible! Down at the bottom she saw Rawiya laying on the ground, her legs spread out in a rather odd way. Ari hurried to the gryffin's side, feeling along her legs. For that must have been what was bothering her.
However, nothing was wrong. Ari knew this, for because she was a shifter she was an expert in animal antanomy. Rawiya was making a fuss over nothing. What a drama queen! She gave the create a stern look, "You're fine, stop fussing." The gryffin shut her beak, ears falling back slightly.
Ari let out a sigh, a small smile forming on her lips. How could she stay angry with her? To be honest, she couldn't stay angry with anyone for long. She moved to sit by her Aerandir as Rawiya shifted to a more comfortable position. Ari wrapped her arms around Rawiya's neck and hugged her tight, "Welcome home, girl...welcome home."

||-- Wrapped Around Her Hoof -- || AIM Roleplay Key SanLona : Ary Keeyara Brianna n Kor : Tahja Quote: SanLona: The sunlight sparkled through puffy white clouds floating over head, lighting up the outdoors pleasently. Ari sat upon her knees in the dirt before her hut, gardening gloves upon her hands and dirt splattered across her pants. The ground was turned up before her from her digging and it was quite a mess. She was not a very good guardener, to tell the truth. She hadn't even collected very many things to plant as of yet, so it didn't make much sense to be doing it now. Perhaps she just wanted to do something different for a change. Rawiya was not sharing Ari's thrill with nature. Restless, she trotted around the yard, fluffing her feathers. She squawked and kicked her beak at Ari, who paid her little mind. Was her 'mother' going to do anything but sit there. Irratated, she settled herself onto the grass and let out a long short through her nose to show boredum, hoping to catch Ari's attention indirectly. This didn't work either. Briana n Kor: It had only been an hour since Li merged, but the quiet gryphon certainly had a strong curiosity. He was rather straight forward about what he wanted, as well, though it didn't seem he was the demanding type. Tai understood the request to go outside very well, though. They'd just roamed the area around the house when lot number seven caught Li's ears. More specifically, Rawiya's snort did. He sent a look to the "big person" that seemed to be in charge. She just nodded her head a bit, giving Li inverbal permission to look ahead. He went forward on slightly cumbersome paws, which grew less akward with every other step. The human was never more than five paces behind, giving Li space without letting him out of her gaze. Big person's name was Tai, and he knew her as such, as well as "mom", like the white big person called her. Li hadn't decided which name he liked more yet but, he did like Tai, that was for sure. The snort seemed to come from right across the way of their home. Who was making that funny noise, and why couldn't he? He took a few steps more before a figure came sharply into view once around the corner. The gyrfalcon had unrivaled eyesight. He could make out Rawiya very clearly, and she was big. SanLona: Ari left Rawiya to her complaining, as she had grown used to the Aerandir's antics over the past few days. She was never happy unless she was actively doing something and being paid attention to...which couldn't happen twenty four seven. Restless still, Rawiya lurched to her feet, flapping her wings in the process. Tossing her head, she pranced about, tossing dirt upon on the ground with her hooves in her jerky, yet graceful motions. She brayed, sounding neither like a horse nor donkey in her sound, her tone almost bubbly as it moved up and down in scale. Searging forward, she began to trot around the yard, her movements wide and exagerated. She did not notice another Aerandir watching her, too busy trying to keep entertained. Briana n Kor: Li crooned quietly and crept closer for a better look, now that the daze had worn away. Somehow he knew that this creature was the same as him, yet different still. Look at how easy that other Aerandir moved! She was so graceful! His legs weren't that long, he was only roughly the size of a cub after all. After a few steps he stopped once more, watching the other with wide yellow eyes. SanLona: Rawiya moved into a graceful lope, tring of her own jerky motions. Her pace was smooth and light, moving around in loops through the yard. Her black and white ears pulled forward and her wings loosed slightly to feel the air beneith them. Her dark eyes caught sight of something near the edge of her yard and as her long steps brought her closer she slowed down. Slowing to an easy, confident trot, she moved over to the creature that seemed so...so little. She stopped and flicked her tail upward slightly as she bent her head down so she could see him better. Somehow he seemed...familiar, yet she had never seen him before. She let out a small squawk, clicking her beak curiously. Briana n Kor: Wow, she was even taller up close! The little one looked up at the other, unintimidated. He screeched lightly back in greeting, reaching up to paw at the offered beak. Was she a friend? SanLona: Rawiya drew her beak up close to rub against his paw in an hello and then pulled back suddenly, letting out another strange whicker. She jumped into motion, prancing and dancing about him in playful, excited movements. She wasn't exactly sure why, but she was thrilled to meet this other creature, that somehow felt to have more of a connection then the others she had met, like the cat withint the house called Sashta. Briana n Kor: Li flattened his ears to his head as she returned the hello, but then abruptly pulled away. At first he thought he must have angered her somehow, but then her playful display reassured him once again, if not slowly. He blinked owlishly, then rose to stand firmly on all fours, watching curiously and mimicing a few of her moves. By this point Tai slipped past the two with a smile their way, approaching the keeper of the house. Her adopted daughter, Tessa, and her adopted son Kyou both insisted that she get out and make friends with the other guardians. She had no problem with this, she simply didn't particularly feel it was an urgent matter, being a creature of solitude, herself. Still, she did enjoy meeting new people, this would be a good experience for all of them. She stopped perhaps a yard away from the other, her own partially pointed ears (just the tips) alert for a response or signs of trouble with the playing gryphons. "Hello?" SanLona: Rawiya, seeing his efforts to mimic her, began to do different things then she had before. She pawed at the ground with her hooves, tossing her head about and then lurched onto her hind legs, moving her front ones in rounding motions. She then began to walk in circles around him, bringing up her legs higher then needed and in a clockwark fashion. Ari looked up suddenly, blinking white violet eyes. A smile formed gently upon her lips as she saw Tai and she quickly turned around to face her propperly, brushing dirt off her gloved hands, "Ah! Hello!" She hadn't seen this woman before, but she hadn't met very many people, so it was very probable she lived near by...even next door. Briana n Kor: "I hope we're not interrupting. I thought it might be rude of me not to introduce us. I'm Tahja, I live in house thirteen right across the way." She returned the smile with a warm, bright one of her own. "My friends call me Tai." Li looked quizzical for a moment, then flopped down to sit on his haunches. Hmm.... this was an odd game, but then again he'd only come to really exist an hour ago! Since she was the one that intiated play, he would go along with it. Of course, he couldn't lift his legs quite that high, and he had to use his wings to balance on his hind legs, but he easily downed the last part, taking it a step further by daringly moving to weave between her hooves as she pranced. A chittering sound akin to laughter arose from the amused little one. SanLona: "No, it's fine, it's fine," Ari said, standing up, her knees overed with dirt and grass stains. "It's very nice to meet you, I'm Arianna...Ari for short." She made a motion to hold out her hand and then blinked rapidly, realizing they were dirty, "Oopps!" She took of her glove correctively and then held out her bare, clean palm instead. Rawiya stopped as the other creature disappeared from view. "Cawwww.....?" She cruned, her ears flickering about. She then bent down spreading her legs slightly. She pulled her neck over so that her head was upside-down looking beneather her, where she found the sounds of the other coming from. Seeing him there, she tried to n** at his tail playfully with her beak, but it was rather short and her cooridnation was flipped and awkward. Briana n Kor: Tai laughed good naturedly and accepted the re-offered hand, shaking it in a friendly manner, as she spoke again a slight accent was audible in her tone. It wasn't one that could be placed, but it was definitely there. "It's nice to meet you, Ari, this is your Aerandir?" She smiled, looking to the hybrid. Li would've grinned if he had lips to do so. Instead he bounded out of reach of her beak and circled around to face her again. It seemed like they'd both just made a new friend. SanLona: Rawiya let out a suprised squawk at missing and quickly brought her head back out from under her legs onto to see him standing before her now! Whickering, she took two stumbling steps backward, only to fall down upon her stripped rump and hind legs. She shook her head, ears flopping about to clear it and blinked back at him with dark orbs. She hadn't seen him coming like that! He was so tiny! Ari glancd over to see Rawiya and Li playing about and she grinned. She gave a nod to Tai looking back at her, "Yep...she's mine. Her name's Rawiya. I'm asuming the other is yours...?" Briana n Kor: O O;; Li took two quick steps forward after Rawiya's tumble, stopping beside her and yowling once in concern. "She's gorgeous! Such vibrant colors..." She admired, then looked to Ari again and nodded at her words, pleased. "Yes, the little one is with me. His name is Li, he only just merged an hour or so ago. I'm giving him a chance to find his legs........" It didn't seem like she could keep her eyes off of the two, still in a sense of wonder after what she'd previously witnessed. "... he's a curious little tyke." Parenthood, it was funny how this type of thing could bring people closer together. If not for Li then she wouldn't be having this conversation with Ari right now! This thought brought another grin to Tahja's face and the woman folded her arms lightly under her chest. "Seems like they've become fast friends..." ~I hope, at least.~ SanLona: In a burst of childish desire for attention, Rawiya rolled so that she was lying on her side, letting out a long drowl of a bird sound. She brought up her right leg to cover her beak in exagerated distres as being frightened. Her wings spread out to cover some of her side and her ears fell back in dismay. Oh how horribly frightening that had been! This was the impression she was giving off so dramticly. Ari smiled, feeling a little abashed at the praise Rawiya was reciving, "Yes...she is very bright...your Li is very handsome, though. I love the bird colors...black and white, so pretty." She glanced at the two as Tai did, seeing Rawiya start her long acting spell. She was tempted to shake her head, "It seems so...of my...there she goes again..." Briana n Kor: Tahja just chuckled again. It seemed like Ari had an entertainer on her hands. Giving the other young woman an understanding expression, she responded. "Thank you. Have you been here very long?" Oh! She was probably keeping Ari from her yard work! Looking alert as soon as she had this thought she gave Ari a questioning look, as if to ask if she would rather be left to what she was doing. They could always talk another time after all. ... With a small mewl he moved forward to inspect. He hadn't meant to scare her! He pawed at her neck, continuing to mewl in a bit of a panic. Get up, oh, PLEASE get up!! SanLona: (( xD lol. Poor little Li.... )) Ari didn't seem to mind she was taking a break. Her face was still slightly flushed from the work she had been doing before. Besides, she was glad to be talking to someone. She loved to meet people, even if she did have a more shy demenor then others, "Ah...well...a few weeks. You think I'd know more people by now but...ah..." She grinned sheepishly. Wiya peeked at him from behind her black and white leg, watching him paw at her relentlessly. Deciding to give the moment one more push, she moaned again her parrot-like tone, rolling her shoulders slightly in her discouraged mood. Briana n Kor: Ohhhh he'd done it now! The first one like him that he met and he hurt her!! .... Somehow.... Li didn't give up on her though, instead he raced around to her other side and nudged her lightly with his beak. If she couldn't get up he'd have to go for help. He'd probably be in quite some trouble for-- whatever he'd done! "Oh, don't worry about that! ^_^;; I've been holed up in our house since we moved in myself." .... "Actually? You look familiar, were we on the same ferry here?" SanLona: Ari blinked, "Uh....I don't know...were we? I could have been..." Yet most people who saw Ari didn't forget her....just because of her extremely strange appearance, but then she was also short and easily overlooked in that sense. Rawiya moved her leg slightly so she could roll her gaze upward to look at him with mournful eyes. She had been soooooo scared! Her legs muscles twitched slightly and after giving a small whining sound she began to move her leg back up again to cover her face. Briana n Kor: AH!!! He was sorry he was sorry he was sorry!!! He gave a mournful cry of his own and nuzzled up to the female to show his remourse, hoping she'd accept it as a sign of his repentance. She didn't seem to be hurt hurt, but she was clealry distressed! "It's possible, probable, even. I suppose that it doesn't matter. Would you like to come by and visit some time? Maybe we could have dinner together, our Aerandir and other charges and all?" Briana n Kor: AH!!! He was sorry he was sorry he was sorry!!! Moving her leg away from herself and letting out a small, soft bray of acceptance, she folded her wings back at her side and sat up slightly. Ever so slowly she let her ears move forward and her eyes loose their dismayed appearance. "Sure1 That'd be lovely!" Ari smiled, nodding. It would be nice to have some company around for a change...she loved her cat and Aerandir, but neither could talk at the presnet moment, so it was lonely at times without someone to discuss topics with.

November 7, 2005 Ari came up the ladder, careful not to slip due to the water on her fingers and the soles of her shoes. Whiping the mosture from her hands on her pants as she reached the top, she moved over across the room with a tired breath through her open mouth. She settled into the chair greatfully and took up a black pen, the only writing tool she could find upon her paper covered desk.Entry Dear Journal,
I have not written in a long time...and I feel extremely bad. Maybe this is why I've never kept a journal solely for myself before-I can't seem to remember to write things down!
Anyway, I've been very busy ever since Wiya came into being. She's so energetic! She never seems to tire...nor does she ever seem to give up. She's very stubborn and sometimes I get very frustrated with her. Her moods swing around like the wind and she makes such a big deal out of such little things. I suppose she's just my little "drama queen".
I had problems finding a place for her to sleep at first. I feared she'd break the floor upstairs due to her weight, especially after the panic I had when she emerged up there. The best I can seem to do is have her sleep by the fire with a bunch of blankets and a pillow. She doesn't fit ont he couch or anything...though I suppose she doesn't need it.
The one time she seems to settle down is before I head up to bed. This seems to be because I always read her a story. She listens the whole way through, seeming to drink in every word I speak. At first I was tempted to limit her to children's books...the ones I would read to children of five years or so...but then I decided to try something just a tad bit harder, for those around eight years of age. She seemed to like it so much better!
Last night I read her one about an indian who's brother got sick. He went off to the great mountain where it was said he could find a magical plant to cure him. In the end he saved his sibling, of course. Wiya must have loved it, for today she did something very surprising and troublesome.
She got into my pant, making a mess trying to do markings on her coat like an indian or something. I must say the result was rather comical...she looked VERY silly, but it was horrible to clean. The paint was all over the house! I had to scold her afterward, but I don't think she took it very seriously.
However, now I know that I need to watch her more carefully when reading such stories.
-Arianna Keeylis Ari sighed again, but smiled in spite of herself. The Aerandir had really grown on her. Trying to clean up a little bid, she put some papers back into some drawers and then stood up. Brushing a braid from her face, she went back downstairs to read Rawiya her nightly story.

November 21, 2005 Ari pulled herself from the warmth of her sheets as the sun spitefully glared through the window to bring the morning. She stood up, blinking away the tiredness she still felt and shielded a yawn with her hand. Glancing about the room she took a moment to listen the the sounds around her. It didn't seem that Wiya was up yet, since she was rather noisy, and all she could hear were morning birds and the buzz of a few insects.
Taking advantage of what little time she had all to herself, she moved over to her desk, which she seemed to find hard to spend time at as of late. She pulled open the cover of her journal and took her pen, beginning to write in her curly script.Entry Dear Journal,
It's nearing that time of year again. Christmas is next month and Thanks Giving is a few days away. I know not everyone celebrates Thanks Giving, but even if you don't do it for the pilgrims or whatever, I think it's a great holiday to have. It brings family together and reminds us we shouldn't take anything for granted.
I've been trying to explain this holiday to Wiya-I'm not sure if it's working. I've told her stories of Indians lately, to get her in the feeling for it, and then I worked my way up to the story of Thanks Giving itself. As always, she soaked up the story like a sponge does water.
The next day I found her strutting around pretending to be a turky. It was rather comical and her attempted gobbles were no where near close to what they should be, but I could tell she was putting in quite the effort. She gets into character so easily, sometimes I wonder how she does it.
After Thanks Giving comes the real trick however-how to explain Christmas, Santa Claus, Raindeer, and everything else. I wonder if I can get her to give her friend Li a present? That'd be cute.
Well, I best be off to get to work before Wiya gets up. There are so many things that are hard to do with her bouncing around.
-Ary Keeyara Ari stretched as she stood up, and then headed downstairs to get something to eat and drink and perhaps start making something for Wiya to eat for breakfast.
