The summer skirt's material glistened almost magically as Raina leaned back in her chair, quite a bit more relaxed now that things were starting to clear up. A mechanical fan lay embedded in the ceiling that she glanced upon, its blades whirring like a beast. The restaurant was quaint and lovely from the floor view, but hints of its under layer were still visible at the top.
Turning her eyes back to Luca, she smiled, amused at his comments, wondering if he was truly happy working for such a company. At least Au'ret didn't seem too spooked by the character.
Raina opened her mouth to reply to Au'ret, but a beep from her laptop signal's Svenn's answer, instead,
<>
"Svenn."
<>
At Luca's question, a pixellated question mark materialized above the verdant hacker's head. Audacious as he was, he told only the truth, his head held high, as if he was willing for whatever punishment that would befall him.
<>
"Oh, USB's are definitely good. I'm just glad I got into the habit of it," Raina shrugged and looked towards Luca's cobalt eyes, wondering if this would be enough. She didn't need to use the laptop for a day or two, anyway, so it was all fine on her part.
Nearly snorted at Au'ret's personality view of Luca, she shook her head in mirth, feeling the urge to reach out and pat the sour man on the back. Resisting, she settled back further in her chair to be safe and sent the two of them a stellar smile, tilting her head to the side.
"I think Luca just needs to reach out a bit more. He's quite knowledgeable, and excuse me I'm being too involved for someone you've just met, but I do believe he can make it big out there, if he tried. And, personally, I'd like to spend some more time with you, too," she mused, sending a well-timed wink over the table.

At the response of the Hacker Luca spoke.
"I was told the best way to keep him from eating your files would be to make multiple copies of what he prefers and keep them in a separate folder that is just for him. It worked wonders with Au'ret." Luca paused, thinking of what Fiach had told him. "Ah, yes. Also you'll come to notice that Svenn in his own way is like a human. He'll learn emotions and ask you questions, things like that. Of course, they love to interact. He'll probably play the games that come with the laptop or take trips into Cyberspace. Getting something like an MMO would help keep him occupied as well."
-Luca promised he'd get me one. I did research. They look like such fun!-
"Once I save up the money Au'ret. You're earning your bonus points quite well."
-: )-
"But anyways..." He directed his attention to Raina. "If Svenn can work the pieces of your work back together then wonderful. That would probably save you a headache or two, even with the USB. We're only human, we can forget to add something to a safe place." At Au'ret's description, he shook his head. "Believe me when I say I'm not always as she says. I think I may be coming down with a head cold and sick plus Luca always equals a mood. I apologize."
-You should have seen the great influenza epidemic he had. Not a happy Luca at all.-
He nodded and contemplated her statements to Au'ret. As Raina winked at him, that familiar uncomfortable feeling in his stomach came back. Oddly, that hadn't happened since his interview and when Adalia has thundered in. All the same though, his true nervous side came up and his sentence began with a stutter. "Th-Thank you for your kind words."

Raina let her emerald eyes flicker casually over Luca's face as he spoke, running her fingertips out of habit over the small wrinkles running over the fabric in her lap. She listened intently, nodding every so often, accenting his words with her lighter 'mmm's. Her legs were cool as she rubbed them together underneath the table, and she smiled, definitely not eager to leave the well-conditioned environment.
"Like a human, huh," she mused aloud, looking to her green hacker, who responded quickly with a bit of a courteous nod on his part. "That doesn't seem like too big a problem. I mean, to be honest, it's summer, it's better to have one more companion than to spend it buried in papers."
Her tone was slightly envious as she looked over the two hackers; them and their MMOs. While they weren't exactly sentient, living beings, they still led lives of luxury, something she had always longed for, but couldn't afford in this kind of society.
Raina blinked as her attention was drawn back to Luca, then nodded sympathetically.
"I have confidence that he can do it, somehow," she laughed mildly, her eyes alight with concern for the man's sickness. "And I do hope you get better soon. Please, believe me, your mannerisms have been quite delightful thus far. I-"
A beep interrupted her.
<> came the questioning words from her Hacker.
Raina frowned at Svenn, unsure of what to say.
"I beg your pardon?"
<>
And with a quick scan, Raina came to realize that half the page had been restored already as it was. It seemed that Svenn was quite the technician, in addition to being a gentleman.
"That'd be a 'u', Svenn," she affirmed, her eyes shining with approval for the capable little creature.
She turned her eyes back to Luca and let the Hacker work.
At the little stutter, her smile only grew wider, but she said nothing else, just let her face fall into that easy expression for the awkward-seeming man on the other side, hoping to relax him a little.

"Exactly. It takes a bit of psychology sometimes, but the benefits of watching them grow and develop is quite satisfactory. And I agree. Au'ret keeps me from going up a wall during the quiet times at home."
This was true, before the Hacker came he would blast music or play the television nonstop just to have some sort of activity going on in the background as he did his routine. It got lonely during those times, very lonely.
"Thank you. I hope to get some medicine once I am through here, as I have no other engagements so far today. Though I am on call for whenever they need me, so that could change instantaneously." Luca reached for his cell phone and looked at the screen. He had all the alarms off and he would check it once just to make sure he hadn't received any calls. None, so he was glad. At Raina's smile, Luca smiled back, still not entirely over the dull feeling in his belly. It would pass, it just took a bit.

The young writer nodded appreciatively and sat back in her chair, the legs protesting with an almost-feminine squeak. At Luca's considerate words, she took in his implications and soaked into the reality of what was happening around her. So this young, gentlemanly hacker who carried himself with an air of respect and a touch of chivalry was to be hers for the next while. She was almost sure that she ought to have been blown away by the news, but she was strangely calm and accepting. Maybe the heat was getting to her.
"So... where did these Hackers come from in the first place? Are they just... spontaneous happenings?" she mused aloud, green eyes falling down from the ceiling to meet his gaze.
From the screen, Svenn tilted his head a bit, and then continued his work. The page was almost completely restored, and he seemed to be enjoying it immensely.
A beep resounded from the machine, and Raina offered an apologetic smile while turning to the screen.
<>
Raina nodded in agreement, turned her eyes to the male for answers.
