It sounds like you had a fun day shopping!

You could grow that tomato in a hanging pot, most likely, to protect it from the critters. It needs full sun and will need to be fed and watered more often, but they produce well in hanging pots. You can even grow them upside-down, in plastic growbags made just for that, but a regular big hanging pot is fine.

I have a "mimosa" tree (that's not botanically correct), and they are just as fussy as the little plants. It died to the ground the first 4 years that I had it, then slowly started becoming a real tree---I was really frustrated with it. Even with the tornadoes and ice storms, drought and floods, it has grown well now for several years and I don't think you could kill it if you tried. I don't know how big your little plants wil grow, but if they bloom, and if you have hummingbirds where you live, they will love them. Don't give up---if you can grow those plants, there will be nothing that you can't figure out how to grow! biggrin

thanks, hanging pot is a good idea, it beats having to fence it.

I killed my plant. crying Both my sensitive plants are dead. The other plants are doing fine cause I gave em to my mom. I love nature but I am completely lacking in the green thumb gene which has skipped a generation apparently. No, my brother got it. WTF!

-hugs-

I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe you could try again with something not as difficult to care for as a sensitive plant? You could try growing tomatoes, which will grow just about anywhere so long as they get watered daily.

I've always wanted a mimosa. I've heard they're quite a fickle plant, so please don't feel bad that yours died.

Try again. :3 I have a friend that has "always" killed plants and I gave her part of my monstera deliciosa "Mo". He's a great plant and I highly recommend this type for beginners or someone who doesn't want a plant that is constantly PMSing. XD (Like the weeping fig - it drops leaves when you move it.)
