X sighed and walked over to the table. she poked Alphonse in the shoulder and asked "are you dead or something?" she had her opposite hand clentched into a fist in case she needed to fight.

Alphonse looked up from the table with a sigh. "What, you're closing already?"
Now that he thought about it, the time had really ran away. While waiting in vane for possible crewmembers to arrive, the whole day had gone by. The moon was up and he couldn't hear anyone out in the streets anymore.

"i dunno if they are" X said "but i'm here about your ad outside" she pointed to where the letter was. "and i'm wondering if you're still looking for a navigator."

As soon as Alphonse realized what she had said, he abruptly sweeped his arm across the table, shoving all of the mugs of it and changed completly. He leaned back in his chair and put his hands together behind his head and smirked with great confident. He had gone from looking like a complete drunk to a respected airship captain in just a second.
"I know you are." He said. "Have a seat and tell me a little about yourself."

X looked a little confused, but sat down any way. "well my name is X and i am skilled at reading any map be it star water or land. now i'd like to know a little about you before i continue." she said

"Me? Well, by the looks of it, I'm your new captain." He paused. "Is there something in particular that you would like to know, navigator?"

Damnit! I can tell that I'm not the only one that is interested. I hate competition.
"Honestly?" Alphonse said To hell with that "Why because you won't find another ship like The Eternal in all of Kinryael, not to mention a captain that cares about his crew... especially if they are as good looking as you. You want to get off Dunheim and find your fortune, this is your best bet."

X looked at Alphonse and said "fine. but i'm not real relationship girl, but you won" she hoped it sounded as believable as if it were totally true.

Alphonse shone up in a goofy smile for a brief moment WHAT!? Really!? Oh, man. I can't belive she actually fell for that
Suddenly he looked as if he realized something.
"Oh. One thing though. You can't see the ship untill we leave port."

"fine" X said, trying to hide that she was glad he had believed what she had said and had hired her. her hand went to her side where she had a few star, land and water maps stored in a small bag she had at her side.

The would-be captain leaned forward and rested his head in his hands, resting his elbows on the table. "Good. I see you know when to not ask bothersome questions." He glanced over at the bar and the bartender then back at X. "Why don't you go get yourself a drink and then I've got some things I'd like to talk to you about."

"i;m fine" X said "i don't need a drink. why not just start talking now and maybe i'll get one later." the truth was, she couldn't bring herself to get anything, so she always just said she didn't want one right now.

Alphonse just shrugged. "Well. First of all, I don't think I catched your name." he said and observed her. "And what's your story? How did you come to learn how to read maps and what did you do for a living before this?"

X looked up and sighed again, she was gonna have to make something up or tell the truth. "X" she said "and i came to learn maps on my own as if they kinda, i dunno, talk to me. i can navigate with these and it is as good as any trained navy ship's navigator."
