Scyeth settled back down, relaxing once it finally set in that they would stay friends. Best friends, even. (So close, and yet, so far away.) He finally offered some sorry excuse for a lopsided smile, but hey. He was trying. "Expect the worse, hope for the best?" Scyeth offered lamely. What else was there to say, he thought sheepishly. He had said everything he needed to say, and quite frankly, it went over a lot better than he had planned on.

But, then he noticed RuiZhi was blushing and all traces of his smile vanished in a flash. "Are you okay?" he murmured, concerned. Was it still the demon thing? Or had he remembered what Scyeth said earlier, because if he was going to bring that up again, Scyeth might actually have to deny it for his dignity's sake. (Well. Whatever was left of it, anyways.)

The youth felt some of his concern ease at the smile, even if it wasn't as bright or all encompassing as he was used to. Once it disappeared, though, RuiZhi's stomach tightened again.

"H-hey, no, I'm fine!" he said quickly, shaking his head. "I'm..." He hesitated for a moment, before deciding to be honest. Scyeth had given him a great deal of trust; the least he could do was be truthful to his friend. "...just curious about demons. The parts of them that makes them a demon...the part that's different from humans. Like your ears." It came out stounding more lame than he intended, but it was out there and there was no way to shove the words back into his mouth.

RuiZhi jutted his lower lip out in a half-pout. "I'm studying to be a doctor, and I took that anatomy course...I'm just curious about our differences. There doesn't seem to be many."

Scyeth blinked and tipped his head, as if perhaps he hd not heard RuiZhi correctly. That...was so out there he never would have even dreamed his roommate (or were they ex-roomies now?) would have said something like them. "Uhm," said Scyeth, rather intelligently. He blinked again and rubbed his cheek absently. "Okay. But. This is like. A human form?" Scyeth shrugged not exactly sure how else to put it. (And he sort of hoped RuiZhi didn't ask to see more, because that would be...very upseting.)

"So," he said, getting a little more chatty as the meeting went on. He played with his hair and looked around. "What's new? Moving out? Or is someone moving in?" It looked awfully empty for someone to be moving in, though. Oh, wait a minute! What happened to all of his stuff! Oh, they probably got rid of it (beside Banish, of course). They didn't know if he was ever coming back!

Scyeth would not have to worry about RuiZhi asking, for the boy was quite sure his heart wouldn't be able to handle it, not now. Instead, he latched onto the next words, which he understood and could reply to without feeling like he'd just stepped off a cliff.

"I'm moving out," he explained, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm...I'm going to be an official student of the Sciences, so I have to go to that dorm now." The youth paused, removing his glasses to rub the bridge of his nose tiredly. "There's a lot of room, so they wont suspect--oh!" RuiZhi shook his head, chuckling dryly, "They came to take your stuff, but I...I told them you didn't have anything. It's already in my other dorm, but I can bring it back."

There was a grim sort of satisfaction in his voice. He'd hidden the belongings of his room mate's, posing some as his own (since he didn't have much to speak of), and they hadn't thought any wiser of it. He'd even managed to hide the board, which was securely hidden in the new dorm.

RuiZhi sighed a little, looking at the glasses in his hand. "I didn't want them to take you away completely. I hope you don't mind."

"Oh."

That was all Scyeth had to say for a while. How, exactly did one respond to finding out their best friend/roommate was moving out, but hoarded all of one's stuff? The blond wasn't quite sure. He had quite a lot of stuff at home, so he was never particularly disturbed when some of it went missing. But this? This was different. And very awkward, though he supposed RuiZhi was doing it out of kindness. In which case, he should probably say,

"Thank you."

He took a step forward to close the gap between the pair without a second though, and a good thing too, because a second thought probably would have prevented what was coming next. Scyeth leaned down a little (less than he would have had to before!) and planted a very small, very gentle little kiss. He watched RuiZhi the entire time, blazing blues open and alert. He righted himself a moment later, turned, and started for the door as if nothing happened at all. He should probably take his stuff out of Zhi's room. The blond paused, grabbed the nearest labeled box and lifted. Might as well take something with him if he was going, right? He didn't want to be around to witness the reaction.

He'd seen this before. He'd seen his brother lunge across the room to violate Rylenn. He'd seen his sister practically corner Kenth to be close to him. But this was different.

This was soft. This was gentle.

This was also his roommate, Scyeth.

Eyes of rich soil stared into the sky bound blues that pinned him in place, unmoving. He couldn't have moved if he wanted to, because it was over as soon as it began and Scyeth was on his way to move items to retrieve his own. RuiZhi stood where he was, dumbfounded. What had just happened? What happened to the loud, playful boy he knew? The reckless, rulebreaking blonde who just didn't care?

But...he was.

He was the one who was accusational of him writing a love letter to Kenth. The one who stuck by his side during Christmas. The one who had given him nicknames, and held his hand, and...just admitted he liked him.

It'd been like that all along, hadn't it?

There was nothing in his teaching that had prepared him for this. Nothing in school and certainly nothing from his siblings. RuiZhi mechnically picked up a box and followed Scyeth, cheeks flushed, feeling somewhat warm in his robes. It was unexpected...but it wasn't...wasn't unpleasant, either. Gentle, sweet, respectful almost. His stomach felt funny and his heart had skipped up a few notches, but he didn't feel horrified. Was that okay?

Was he thinking too deeply? Not enough? Was he supposed to say something?

Judging from the fact that the surfer boy had all but fled ahead already, the Chinese boy assumed it might be best to let Scy talk when he was ready. Just like before. Nothing changed, not really; he had just been made to realize what had been going on without his awareness.

"Scy!" RuiZhi caught up to the blonde, still blushing wickedly despite his calm voice. "It's the building down the path, room is on the first floor by the fire exit."

Autopilot. He wasn't thinking. Not about where he was going, anyway, but definitely about the company at his side.
