At his pulling of her braids, she snapped out of her suprised state. She chuckled and nipped at his shoulder. "I am not uncomfortable and everyone deserves to have a good rant. Also I wouldn't say that curiosity brings undesired results. If I had not wanted to know, then I would not have asked in the first place." she said with a smirk on her face. Though in her mind she was thinking that next time she would be careful about what exactly she asked.
She flicked her tail absentmindedly as he stepped back making some distance between them. She really was glad he had been so honest with her and it was something different from other stallions whom she had aquaintences with. They always tried to act macho and never would show thier true feelings to her.
"I'm glad that our first meeting had been a good one and that you did want to see me again and did not hide from me." she said softly closing the distance between them once again and once again being her bold self. She nuzzled his cheek lightly and waited to see what his reaction would be.

He chuckled, smiling despite his internal debate as to whether her words were lies or not. Of course he couldn't deny the truth in them - never had he told a soul about the family problems, about his faults like this. Did he feel relieved now that someone knew? To say no would be the darkest form of blasphemy of them all. And didn't she inquire further? Yes... but he doubted she was expecting something so deep. Still though...
Ah, as always, the pros and cons of her presence was so double edged he could do nothing but shake his head in smiling disbelief. There was without a doubt no other like her in this world.
Slowly his eyes rose to hers again, growing still as she drew near. Truly he must have been forgiven then as she nuzzled him. Jaci let out the breath he'd held as a soft sigh, heart galloping out of his chest in pure joy. Returning the show of affection, his voice was equally soft as he responded, "I'm not too sure it'd be possible for me to hide, if you would have me as such." As always he kicked the ball into her field, making it her decision on where these words and actions would lead. Had he the choice though... while he loved his life of solitary wandering, there was never a doubt that exchanging those ways for time with her was anything less than perfect in his head.

She let out a laugh then at his words and the soft breath he had been holding. She really had no clue as to why he was being tense and nervous around her. She had thought that they were way past that now but it pleased her that she could still get a reaction out of him none the less.
She thought about his words carefully before answering. "What do you mean exactly by if I would have you as such?" she asked not really sure where he was going with it. She hoped he wasn't going to turn into some love struck stallion that would follow her around all the time. She had dealt with that before and after a while it just got annoying. Maybe that was the reason why he was so tense. He was tense because he was afraid she would reject him maybe...or maybe she could be completely wrong.

Jaci laughed, a soft chuckle that had his whole frame shaking. "Have me be blunt, dear Taylor, have me in all that I am born as and all I hope to be as time goes on." Was he speaking in too many riddles? His confidence aided in him, eyes bright and dancing as he chose to cut to the core of the situation here and then.
"The both of us are wanderers - I doubt anything could truly strip us of our ways. But I am not opposed to traveling with company time and time again, even if it is only until I and my companion part ways only a mile or two down the path. I am not one to stalk or haunt an individual for company either, though I would never be against our paths crossing multiple times." The stallion shrugged then, pausing only to ponder if he was being perhaps too blunt now.
"I'm no toy to be flirted with, or to flirt myself, then simply discard the occasion. I told you I mean to change your opinion on stallions being only such, but in the end it is your choice if you would welcome my company or not." His voice and gaze softened then as he finished with a sigh, "If even for a short time, Taylor, would you allow me to wander with you? I can't say when it is our paths would separate, but would you let me stay by your side till they do?"
His mind wandered to his parents then, their brief travels away from a single point of land both called home. Easily one could say the pair had settled down, especially when they had a family to raise, but could Jaci himself ever expect such a life? Sure there was a particular section of river and forest he tend to return to, a warm cave that made for a good resting place, so perhaps he could call it a sort of home. But would he ask for another to "settle down"..?
Looking at Taylor then, at the wild nature within both of them - her especially, he realized then - ...no, he couldn't. To expect such a life would be too much, and to say a permanent farewell to his own life of wandering... for now, was much too much to give up forever.

Taylor stood there and took in his words. She was scared at what he was saying as her mind knew all too well what he was asking. Many had asked her before him and each time she had turned them down in some way or just disappeared and never came back. But this was some how...different.
Different...that was putting it mildly that was for sure. It wasn't like he was wanting to tie her down or make her stop wondering and doing what she wanted to do. He just simply wanted to wander with her and be her companion. What was so wrong with that? He also still had the idea in mind that he could change her opinion of stallions. Things would still be like a game and a challenge. Nothing romantic in there that she could see.
She relaxed as the tension left her body even though she hadn't known it was there. She was pretty sure as well that everything she had just thought about had shown plain as day on her face. That was what happened when she was caught off guard though she hadn't seen things turning to this and usually she could. She looked him in the eye before shrugging her shoulder's and giving him a coy smile and turning.
She looked back at him from over her shoulder and said "I don't care if you accompany me or not. That is purely up to you. If you do then ok, if not then that is your choice and your loss." she replied and secretly deep down she hoped that he would see her words as an invitation and would choose to come with her, if for a short while. She wouldn't let it show though. Oh no, that would be a mistake and then he may think that she actually cared for him or something and would never let her leave if that is where her path took her.
She stopped and turned back around and waiting for whatever he decided to do next. She had no clue what was going to happen from this moment on and it scared her a bit but whatever it was she would accept it and go one like she always did.

The confidence that was his truest nature kept him standing tall and proud, eyes trained on hers as he patiently waited. Oh he could see the unease, the -dare he say it- fright at his words, but he neither flinched or laugh it away. He said what he needed, wanted, to say and now could do nothing but allow her time to ponder and debate and decide.
Would his patience pay off? He could see her relax, see the emotions flicker across her face as at last she turned with a shrug and a smile. So he won, for now - he could feel there was something there, almost hiding, in her then, an edge to his intent either ignored or reluctant for her to accept. There was more to discuss, more to say, more to kick around the bush in their games and teasing and laughs... but it could wait. It could all wait, this was all he needed for now.
Jaci smiled, a cocky smirk as he strutted forward the needed steps to come up alongside her, head held high as he gave her a wickedly happy look. "I think it's clear what my decision is, my dear Taylor. Besides - you know you'd miss me too much if I left now." His grin was perhaps too confident, too challenging, as he took a few galloping steps beyond her, tail cutting the air as he seemed to take on a much younger, much more playful side once again.
In the back of his mind though, he had to wonder - how long would he make excuses to stay with her? He would happily do so forever if she would so let him, but he knew, someday... they'd have to have another interesting conversation.

Taylor flicked her own tail and started after him. She needed to walk, though now she atleast felt like she was back in control of things. But in the back of her mind she knew deep down that she really wasn't. She was just way out of her league but she wasn't going to let him see that and besides, it was way too late for her to do anything about it. Maybe she needed this for some reason or another. She wasn't sure but atleast it would make her life interesting for a while if not for a very long while.
She gave him her own cocky grin as she came up beside him and nipped at his mane before walking on past him, knowing that he would follow her where ever she decided to go. "I think it would be you who would miss me too much if you left now. In any case, I supposed we should get going now if we are going to be traveling companions for a while, though at this time I am just wondering without really any place in particular to go. I hope that doesn't really bother you, though I somewhat already know that it will not." she said back over her shoulder to him. Oh yes, she was sure that her life was deffinately going to get a lot more interesting than she could have ever expected before.

The black stallion grinned and chuckled, following as expected with a new bounce in his step. He couldn't help it - he was just so happy right now! He felt so much more relaxed now, like a weight had been taken off his shoulders. Sure there were more things to speak of later on, but for now... for now he was relieved, and time to just go along with the flow of things.
"I think we can agree to disagree on whom would miss whom the most ~" Though, really, he knew he'd miss her too much if he did leave now. No reason not to keep that to himself for now though. Jaci laughed, nuzzling her cheek as he caught up to her before turning his attention to the path ahead. "Wherever you go, I will follow till it's time for us to part ways. There's nothing to tie me down anyways, so why not?"
There was a definite change in the winds, that was for sure. For how long, he wasn't sure. Perhaps temporary, or permanent, only time would tell.
