Masquerade flicked her ears as she heard voices nearby. A wicked smile strteched her muzzled bareing her pearly fangs. "Sounds like I have toys to play with ..." the little kalona foal cakcled and turned twards the voices she could hear ringing in her small ears. Her light blue hooves danced lightly above the earth as she pranced her tail swatting back and forth.

Flower beamed. "Seems you don't know much about racing!" She called to him as she picked up the pace, her legs pounding. She was nearly neck and neck with him now. It took the span of three or four steps but if he wanted a closer race he'd get it!
She was still pretty young as far as mares went, a mid-twenties to human years and while the colt was surprisingly fast, she could easily be faster. She had no idea, however, that she'd rather be dead last in their next run. Anything to keep Azhar from the upcoming set of snapping jaws.
An odd, throaty laugh, no cackle met her ears but she didn't think much of it. From the pitch the voice's owner seemed to be usdia sized so it couldn't possibly be too dangerous, right?

Azhar kept his little legs pounding against the earth. A noise in the distance caught his ears, but he simply let an ear flick in it's direction. He was too busy trying to win this race to be worried about whatever might be lurking in the shadows.
His blue eyes glanced over to his mother who didn't seem to be too worried about the noise, so he didn't worry too much about it either. Azhar's legs only moved faster when he noticed his mother was right next to him. It seemed the foal had a never ending supply of energy and didn't tire that easily. His mother would have to think of another way to get him tired.
"Come on mum!" He yelled out, flicking his little blond tail as he ran. A few times he almost tripped on the banner around his body and almost lost his hat with the wind. Luckily he stayed right in front of his mother.

Masquerade grinned as the continued to run, unafraid .. well that would be their own foolish fault. Her tail snapped letting out a whp like crack and she took off now her hooves ringing dully against the earth, she dove out of the shadows right behind the two Usida's and kept galloping her long legs moving her quickly over the earth.
"run run my little toy but I'l caaatch you!" she cackled again stretching her wings. She couldn't yet fly but that didn't bother her she could stil lrun faster than them when she wanted to .. beside they'd tire before she did anyway.
A grin stretched across her muzzled bearing her pearly fangs in a wicked grin as she continued to chase the two Usida's.
