Freckles looks over at Pax. {Hey, that looks like fun!} Still running, she throws herself down on her shoulder and starts tumbling down the hill. {Oh, I say, ye-OWCH! Ooh! Ow!} If this wasn't so - whoo! - painful, it would be fun. Oh, who am I kidding; this is the best thing ever!

Madra was worried for the two rolling down the hill. They could easily hurt themselves. Not wanting to tempt fate and end up the one hurt, Madra carefully made her way down the hill in the hope she would be able to help if they needed it.

Nearing the bottom of the hill, Freckles twists about onto her stomach and digs her claws into the hill side. She skids to a halt just before the trees - although it's a near thing - and trots over below Pax's trajectory. She lies down on the hillside, as stretched out as she can get, and braces herself for impact. I sure hope this doesn't hurt!

Cart pauses at the sound of tubling dragons. {Freckles!! What's going on up there?!}
Sfor stops. {Hey, wait up!! That sounds like fun!!!} Before Cart can do anything, she races forward and pulls into a controlled roll downhill.
{Ow! Oo! Owch! Yeoooowww--ow!ow!OW!!! How come there are so many--OOCH--roooowwwwie!! cks on this hill?!}

Freckles' eyes widen in dismay. She can stop one of the tumbling children, but only one. Which one? {Cart!} she shouts, {Catch Sfor before she tumbles into the woods and hurts herself! I've got Pax; he's closer to the bottom and you won't be able to get to him in time.}

{All right!} Cart calls back. {Stay here!} he growls to the other youngsters. Leaping down the hill, he gingerly catches Sfor by her neck before she runs into a large boulder. {Don't you EVER do that again, Sfor!} he snarls through a mouthful of fur and muscle.
{Sorry, Cart,} she says contritely.
{I've got her! Thanks for the warning, Freckles!} Cart calls back.

Pax saw Freckles stop even while he was tumbling. When he reached the bottom he hit Freckles in the side. He was now looking her upside down. {Can we do that again?}

Freckles grunts at the force of the impact - right in the stomach - and turns to nuzzle Pax. The young ones are so cute when they're upside down! {Maybe some other time, Pax, when you learn how to stop on your own. Or we can find a hill without any trees at the bottom.}

Pax flipped himself right side up. {Alright. So are going to go fish now?} He started to walk around Freckles and bat at here. He made motion pretending to fish, or what he thought was fishing.

Freckles laughed. {Of course we are! Cart can bring up the rear... follow me.} And with that, she stalked into the woods and headed for the stream. It wasn't long before she found it again because it really wasn't very far away. She sat down on the stream bank and waited for Pax - or any of the other dragons - to catch up so that she could impart to them the true wisdom of her "special" fishing technique.

{Finally!} Pax ran after Freckles and found her sitting by a stream. {So this is where we are going to fish?} Pax ran to the stream at started putting his paws in it, playing in the water.

{You bet!} Freckles said. She tried to remember how Khala had managed to catch so many fish, but decided not to try. Khala's way was so boring. {There's one!} she shouted, and leapt into the stream. She managed to pin one fish under body, but most of the others darted away. She lifted her head, and shook it to get rid of some of the water. {Where'd it go? Oh, that tickles!} She squirmed in the water, trying to figure out how to get at the fish trapped under her belly.

Sfor padded down the slope at a more sedate pace, while Cart continued to walk at the rear. Seeing the water, Sfor stopped. {Wow.}
She trotted to the water's edge and stared deep into the water. {So those are fish,} she said, gazing at the silvery shadows in the water. She delicately dipped her paw into the water and tried to scoop it onto the bank. The fish was too fast and escaped. {Drat!}

Emblem trotted out of the cave cheerily, taking in his surroundings. There was a fresh glow to the world, and he slipped on down to the riverside next to Sfor. {Hey, sis!} he said, smiling. The little orange dragon stuck a green paw into the crystal-clear water, imitating Sfor's technique. He flicked his clawed paw with an easy grace and hooked a silver fish, shining with water. {I got one!} he squealed, hopping around with excitement. The fish plooshed back into the water, and his head followed. With nimble jaws, he snagged the fish. {Still got it!} he chirped, turning a soaking wet head towards Sfor. He tried to grin, but the fish blocked his cheery smile and he looked absolutely ridiculous.

Sfor giggled. {Nice catch, Emblem!} She once more dipped her paw into the water. This time, she snagged it on her claws. {Whoop, caught one!} She brought it up to her mouth and bit it.
{Nice technique!} Cart said, padding up to them. {Don't let Freckles see; she doesn't approve of Khala's method.}
