I've seen lots of robots that have their heads stylized to look like they have hair.

Berz.

In Doctor Who?

Not even the point.

*Headdesk* What part of "not even the point" do you not understand?

For the last time, you're looking for connections that don't exist based on purely coincidental design choices. The only thing that the two have in common is that they have sculpted hair which is a fairly common design element to robots even outside of Doctor Who. Even if they're the only two robots in Doctor Who that have that one design flaw, it means nothing.

They don't have anything to do with each other. Let it go.

Calm down, guys, you're not trying to kill each other.
All knight was trying to say is that they look rather similar at first glance, not that they're carbon copies of each other. I didn't see anything that implied he thought the new was ripping off the old, just that he was pointing out that they looked a bit alike.
I don't think he was trying to offend or start an argument.

I suppose that they based the ones in VOTD on the ones from ROT.

Does noone else see the link?

in Doctor Who robot designs are completely different in general which is why I think there is a link.

Clearly, he was trying to imply that they were either supposed to be the same robots or related plot-wise or, at the very least, a recycled design. It's pretty clear to me and several others that the scant few design similarities are a coincidence.

Now can we please let this topic die already?
