After watching a couple more episode I've noticed a pattern about this anime, one which I find unique.

Every 4 episodes is a complete story. The time line doesn't change between story lines. The villain in one episode is the hero in the next.

And it always starts the same way, 5 friends from the same school are in a gaming club and then they go to the festival, learn a horrible secret about the town and end up killing each other.

every miniseries starts like this...

and then back to everyone's happy again... rewind 4 days to before everything went horribly wrong and go down a different story line, and there's always a teaser at the start of every episode segment.

It's damn near addictive. It's like 8 mini movies.

Interesting, but very, very weird.... The squeamish part might give me some trouble, though. There's enough evil in human nature as it is; I'm not really a fan of watching people torture others or whatever you're referring to. *shudders*

I know it's not an anime, but have you ever seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Firefly? Now that's addicting. blaugh

Let me ask you. Did you even try to watch more than 10-15 episodes of Naruto and Bleach before you decided that?

Yes, I tend to watch the first three to five episodes of a series before I decide "no, I don't like it."

There's a lot I haven't seen yet.

Watch End of Evangelion, it will all come to what is the point. GTS is not good?

Ghost in the Shell was a really good movie, in fact it was a great movie. The Stand Alone spin-off series with that annoying blue tank thing that followed the characters around was terrible.

Serial Experiments Lain is about the social and philosophical nature of everyone being wired into each other and how it effects a person's view of reality. I've already read several books and seen movies on the subject. Techno-babble doesn't hold much interest for me anymore.

Me too. Frankly I don't know why a bunch of spiky-haired blokes standing around for ten episodes powering up/grunting in constipation was so interesting.

The upcoming Dragonball live action movie looks hilariously bad though.
