Des, just asnwer her question.

Just because you're in charge of this RP doesn't necessarily mean that it's perfect. Plus, if you ask for an opinion, don't snap at it just because you dont' like what's being said. You should know quite well by now I'm pessimistic by nature, and I tend to ask quite a few questions to make sure nothing goes wrong as much as possible.

Dont' be so blinded by your own creation you become incapable of being critisized. I kind of want this to be somewhat of a success you know. It'll help prove to me that there is some creative leadership in this guild besides me and Cale. So please drop the attitude and work with us.

What do you want answered? Thats barely a variable question. I originally had this RP in mind to help spark activity in the guilds rps, including RotC.

Who you need to convince to get your precious RotC going are the regulars who dont normally roleplay, such as Missing, whose the first to submit any kind of character idea to this RP of mine, elvisnake, CW, and a few other lurkers. I myself am working on a few concepts that would ignite the guilds roleplay.

This is a minor project meant to stand in the shadow of RotC after its refueled interest.

I don't want my development thread turned into a damned discussion thread. So unless you have things to add to the rp, don't post here, we can talk about this stuff in the Cantina, like we are now.

Just tell her what a mini-rp is, Des. Quit acting like she knows everything and is out to simply be a thorn in your a**.

You know damn well that the only RP she's been in here is CotS. Try explaining things to her like, what firefly is, why is this a mini-rp and not the main, s**t like that. Quit acting haughty and do your duty as a mod.

And if you don't want discussion, change your title in your thread. It says "project firefly- discussion and somethign". The cantina is not your discussion zone. This is. This is where you discuss the RP. In all aspects.

Now start working on things you need to do. Tell us these newfangled concepts you've got cooking, since you brought them up. Let people develop them for you. Give people something to add to your ideas. Honestly, all they have going for them is a ship selection and time frame. Not much to go off of if you think from a newbies perspective.

Me as Captain? I dunno. Last time I had any sort of direct command role in an RP, everyone seemed to flip me the bird and go to do their own thing, then I ended up having to bail people out of trouble almost continuously.

And Nelo, Ive yet to see you do a real Outlaw or a Bounty Hunter.

Just have that quality, and I'd certainly not play it. But the thing about this rp is, whoever the captain is, you have to obey in a sense, or else your character leaves the boat and becomes an NPC. The entirety of the RP takes place on ship or on one of their jobs.

Its a classic Jaine vs. Mal situation, they may not like each other, but they see the merits in working together.

For the ship, it could be a more high-class luxury cruiser or something, but it serve more as a front for the outlaws so that they appear as legitimate crew aboard it, etc.

Example: Normally, the Captain is just that, the Captain. However, he secretly doubles as the leader of the little band of outlaws under everyone's noses. One of the cooks is also the Captain's best gunman, the doctor is also a slicer, etc.

Plus with it being a luxury cruiser, it'll be big and space won't be an issue. Whenever it makes stops to get new passengers is when the outlaws go out to do a few jobs. Anyone left behind when the ship has to go somewhere just catches up via arriving by shuttle and dropped off, or some other method like that.

As for plot, here's an idea: The outlaws serve as the crew to hide their identities from the Empire, and they can range from being wanted to just wannabe rebels, to just ordinary people that get caught up in their business and join in, to flat out criminals, etc.

IMO, that'd have pretty much all the bases covered.

I'm just trying to help. Shooting down everyone's ideas different from your own will greatly discourage anyone from doing much with it.

Simply having the ship be a luxury cruiser opens up a lot more positions for characters to be in, etc.

Personally I don't see why you object to it, but I know you have your reasons, and this is your RP, but trust me when I say you will eventually have to make some compromises. Something will come up at some point in time that can't be resolved without making a change. What if the person playing Captain can't get online for a month? What if [insert random event here]? Etc.

Its ruins the traditionalilty of the RP and it flys so far away from the core concept. Part of which is to have a physically limited environment.

Its not about having more options, its about picking the right options. Nelo just wants to be picky with his character selection.

That idea is a one-hit deal, this isn't a Valve game.

Also, I'm going to carry over an idea typically used in tabletop if a person is not that, is have that person puppeted, and more the story along in case they may be gone for a few weeks.

So the captain becomes suddenly sick or wounded, or the pilot sprains his wrist, have someone else improvise into the spot needing filled.

We make absence of character or player apart of the story, thus allowing it to still move ahead.
