Zweix practically saw Verix's maneuver before the younger kit so much as twitched the tip of a tail, but she was no more for the better of it, her sister leaving her line of vision the moment she heard her mother yell, "Go!" It was then that Zweix realized that she had two options: one, to lay down and cry about the situation, or two, to actually attempt a fight.
As tempting as the first sounded, Zweix subconsciously knew that her two choices had just dwindled into one. She never saw her sister coming, but felt the impact of Verix's momentum, and cried out as her knees started to buckle under her. She did the best she could given the situation, and pulled herself into a roll on top of her sister, her paws and teeth clenching on to fur and holding on for dear life.
Somehow, she could just tell this was about to be a bumpy ride.

"Huh? What?" muttered Nexis, righting himself. Somehow he'd missed and wound up with a mouthful of dirt to show for it. How had that happened?
Never mind. It meant Derix was still at large and... probably pissed. He looked around and spotted the larger kit charging towards him. He tried to move out of the way, but he'd stalled too long and Derix hit him full-force. Nexis went flying. First blood.
Amused, Sechs went to stand over by the two brothers, a smirk twisting her face. She would only intervene if someone risked getting seriously injured, which didn't look likely... yet.
"Zweix is doing better than I thought she would," she observed, watching the two girl kits disappear into a rolling ball of fur and fury. "Nexis is an impulsive idiot, but that's nothing new," she continued.
Nexis shouted his mother's choicest dirty swear phrase and charged again.
"I really don't know where he learned that one," said Sechs, amused.

There was a triumphant grin on his face as Derix felt himself crash head-on into Nexis. The impact caused him to skid a bit on the grass, as he dug his paws into the ground to stop himself from flying forward along with his brother. The kit cackled openly, baring his fangs and swinging his metal arm around. Viiictory~ his mind crowed.
Caught up in his own thoughts, Derix hadn't noticed his brother coming in for Round 2. Heck, he reckoned the first blow had flipped him over and that was that. And so the shock was evident on his face when Nexis came barreling into him, sending him flying.
Derix landed in the grass with a thump, rolling onto his feet quickly. The wild gleam was back in his eyes as he snapped his fangs and charged back. Once provoked, there would be no stopping the kit until one or the other was down.
"And there he goes again," commented Xelon. "I do hope Sechs stops them before they become pancakes with all the smashing." He wasn't really that worried about his sons; they were both tough and eager to fight. Now, Zweix and Verix on the other hand...
He winced as he watched Verix smash into Zweix, frowning at the older one's tactic of attaching herself to her sister. He wasn't sure how that would work out in a battle.
"Well Verix hasn't shown interest in the Dark Arts yet, has she?" He sighed as he turned back to his brother. "You'd best make sure none of those books are within her reach." He'd taken care to purge his library of such things in case Derix happened to get any ideas.

Of course Verix knew how to analyse her opponent's weakness and use it against them, and also, didn't hesitate to do so. For example, she knew (and it was obvious to most people) that Xanul was bad at lying. Very very bad. And that he blushed whenever she mentioned mates, girlfriends and such. Which caused the kit to tease him a lot. But that was another story.
The youngest didn't utter a cry of pain, much less a sound, when Zweix's teeth and claws dug into her. She already had a few scratches with her "fights" with her uncle and Hiroyuki (the talkative kit could be quite annoyingly persistent if she wanted to) and didn't really mind getting hurt. Perhaps it was because she inherited most of Xelon's Nobody side. Or maybe it had something to do with her grandmother.
It took a while for her to consider her options while both of them were rolling, and put all her force, digging her claws into the dirt with a suprising amount of stength, which would cause them screech to a halt, with her hopefully on the top. If she was on the bottom, well, it made no difference. She still would get on top. Eventually.
Xanul wasn't exactly worried for his little niece; he knew how tough she could be. Ditto for the others. "Well, all I've tried to teach her is Charms. I don't think grandad's library has any book on Dark Arts anyway." He silently sat there for a moment, and was struck suddenly by a thought. "Do you think she'll ask about it when she learns about Defence Against the Dark Arts?" He really hoped not.

Zweix was actually proud of herself for having pulled off her tactic, and as she rolled with her sister, was utterly surprised that everything had worked out so well. She didn't have long to revel in her pride, though, because the momentum that she and her sister had been building abruptly came to a screeching halt, and as it turned out, only one of them had been holding on to the ground.
With a startled yell, Zweix snapped free of Verix, tumbling off in a tangle of tails and dark hair. She had no control of her direction, unaware that even then she was coming into range with her brother's battling, where she slowly rolled into a slow and final thud in the ground. Groaning, she struggled up onto her feet, her expression dazed and utterly dizzy, but all of that fled her system the moment she saw the two of her brothers, charging in far too close a proximity for her comfort. In her rush, she tried to bound out of the way, but only managed on tripping on her own paws, crashing down to earth with a definite thud and a moan, her brothers still nearby.
Not good.

Sechs hadn't truly expected the kits to actually learn any technique right off the bat. No, this was simply a warm up, to get them sore and a bit tired so they'd be more willing to listen. When Zweix crashed to the ground, she knew it was probably a good time to call them off. Otherwise, someone was likely to get killed, and at least this gave her some idea of each kit's strengths and weaknesses.
"Stop," she said, striding back over to the stone and taking up a perch on it. She could wait.
Nexis saw the gleam in his brother's eye at the same time he heard his mother's command. Fighting after she said stop would get him in trouble, but Derix would kill him. So, he ran. He was pretty fast, too, and expected Derix to chase him.
"Stop! Mom said stop!"
Sechs laughed in his direction. No one liked a brown-noser. Maybe Nexis was a bit of a coward after all, in addition to being an idiot...
She scanned her vision over the kits, waiting for them to fall back into rank.
"What have we learned so far today?" she asked sardonically.

Derix's head snapped up in suprise as instead of coming at him, Nexis had turned tail and ran. His brow furrowed as he darted after his brother's retreating form, the berserkness that had been building up subsiding and giving way to general annoyance and frustration.
He nimbly hopped over Zweix, taking care to bat at her face with his colorful tails as he passed. He had a serious thought of simply plowing over her, but was certain his metal limb would do lasting damage and refrained. Not out of sentiment, of course; merely avoiding the severe consequences that would arise. Stomping over your sister in the presence of both parents and an uncle was something even the wild kit knew was a bad idea.
Derix grumbled at Sechs' call for them to stop, speeding up in his run to snap at Nexis' tails before making a sharp turn and heading towards their mother. "Nexis is cowardly," he answered succinctly.
"Maybe you should just skip that subject altogether," Xelon said with a roll of his eyes. He watched as the fighting ceased and the kits began making their way back. "She'll probably ask why she's learning how to repel something she takes interest in."

If Verix knew that Zweix was gloating over clinging on to her, of all things, she would have whacked her sister in annoyance. Older than her, or not, clinging was a stupid way to fight back, cowardly even in her own opinion. Perhaps if the opponent was bigger and clinging on to it neck may do some advantage, but well. Perhaps she was angry that her sister had held out longer than she expected.
She screeched to a halt near her father and uncle, who knew enough to wrap his tails around her blade and dodge, simply staring at how her sister was rolling off to where their brothers were. A sardonic smile lit up, waiting to watch a good show. There was a pout when Sechs halted the proceedings and she leaped up to stand beside Derix. Her fur was messy and has some grass and dirt stuck to it, but she didn't care. The kit didn't even show any signs of fatigue. "Clinging on to your enemy leads to disaster...or it would, in this case." She replied, arching an eyebrow at Nexis.
"Maybeee." Xanul nodded, assuming his original position as Verix walked away. This probably meant he would have to avoid using any Defense Against Dark Arts spells, particularly, the Patronus, which he was rather fond of to convey messages. Or he could bluff his way through...but that wasn't a very good thought. He knew how bad he himself was at lying, and so did Verix.

Relief washed over Zweix as her mother called, and she stumbled to her feet, her good eye open and enthused for everything to be over. The batting of Derix's tails were nothing to her, and she shrugged the gesture off, simply glad that it was the worst he had done. She didn't pay any mind to the teasing of her other brother, as she really had no place to give any input, but found herself rather offended by Nexis's remark.
"Latching on to one's enemy is a perfectly fine tactic," she retorted, snapping her head up. "And it's much nobler a pursuit than attacking your opponent's blind spot, especially in a duel of skills." With an open scoff, her tails flickered, and she turned away, beginning the walk to her mother. "Exploiting weakness hardly shows off much skill, don't you think?" If nothing else, she had the advantage of a solid vocabulary and a good sense of maturity over her siblings, and she showed the latter of such traits by sticking her tongue out at Nexis before turning her gaze up at Sechs.
"...Fighting solves nothing?" Zweix suggested in response to her mother's question, her tone genuinely serious, lacking any sort of sarcasm. Her tails swished expectantly, and if she wasn't worried for her clumsy nature, she might have even begun to fidget on her toes. Now that she'd thoroughly been traumatized, she was all too eager to finish the lesson and leave.

Sechs surveyed the kits, who all looked rather worse for the wear now, and listened to their responses. "While your statement is correct," she said to Derix, "It's nothing we didn't know before and therefore does not count as something we've learned so far."
Nexis frowned. He wasn't sure, but he thought he'd just been insulted.
Sechs turned to Verix next. "Perhaps," she said, "But in some situations it may be your best bet."
She at last focused on Zweix, skipping Nexis entirely - he hadn't answered. She studied the one-eyed kit intently and wondered if, had she had a childhood, she would have been something like her. "Just because it is your blind spot doesn't mean your opponent will refrain from attacking it," she said firmly, and brushed her hair off her forehead with a paw. "In case you hadn't noticed, you're not the only one here with only one eye. And you don't see me complaining."
Finally, she stared at Nexis, the self-elected teacher's pet.
"Yeah, so, what have you learned?"
"That this family has serious anger-management problems?" asked Nexis, feeling smart. All it earned him was a pair of boxed ears. He shook his head, trying to get them to stop ringing, before retreating to the line.
Sechs sighed and pondered how much of a role karma played in the world. "Are you all ready to learn actual Panzer Kunst combat basics now?" she asked. "Or would you rather bicker amongst yourselves a bit longer? Because I have all the time in the world. You don't."

Knashing his teeth, Derix grumbled ill-naturedly and shot Nexis an accusing glance. "Well I didn't think he'd be that cowardly," he muttered to himself, focusing his attention on getting a bit of dirt out from where it had gotten caught under his metal paw.
He leered as he watched Nexis get hit over the head, and was about to make a snide comment when his ears picked up the words "learn" and "combat". Derix immediately perked up, turning his head towards Sechs with apt attention and all thoughts of taunting gone in an instant.
"No, no. Go on," he drawled, eyes once more harboring that wild gleam.
"Just be more careful when you do magic." Xelon narrowed his eyes as he noticed the feral nature in Derix's eyes. Apparently Sechs had just said something regarding more fighting. "Best not to be caught in a situation where you need to lie your way out. I don't think that's ever worked for you before," he added with a wave of his gloved paw.

"I hadn't finished." The kit retorted coldly. "If you hadn't let go, it would be a good tactic. However, you could have become a pancake if Mother hadn't stopped them." She inclined her head towards Nexis and Derix. She meant Derix on the overall though. Her brother with the cyborg arm was a lot tougher.
Sheesh, was it just her, or were the younger ones more aggressive than the older ones?
Sechs was right though. "Fighting is about using your strengths and other's weaknesses against them." She said simply. Zweix didn't have to whine over it, she grumbled mentally. "Ready." Of course she was! Why else had she come here for?
The kitsusagi turned pink slightly. "It's not my fault I don't know how to lie properly!" He defended himself, dark tails curling. "Though I have no idea why Lune does it so well." He meant his Nobody side, of course.

Zweix was sure that nothing she would say would get her anywhere except her chastisement, so she kept her mouth shut and sat down, looking at her forepaws. Sure, her mother only had one eye, so why wasn't Sechs clumsy? Furthermore, why was she? It wasn't fair, and Zweix didn't see why she couldn't get it like the others could. It was obvious how disappointed her mother was with her, how irritated her siblings were.
"Are Panzer Kunst tactics practiced alone?" Zweix finally asked, hoping that, if nothing else, none of the siblings would have reason to stay irritated. "And they're really just basics? So, maybe I can do them?"
It was the best she could do for initiative, in this case.

"Like any fighting technique, it's best practiced in groups," she said. Nexis had gotten a bit too close again, within striking distance, and she decided to make an example out of him. With a swift thrust and flip of her paw, she had him on his back. With a jab to the forhead, she left his ears ringing and brain spinning. The kit wobbled to hit feet and stumbled back to his place in like like a drunkard.
"Owwwww," he whimpered. "What was that?"
"Hertza Haeon," said Sechs, "If used correctly, it can destroy brain matter on contact. I dumbed it down for you."
"Teach me," said Nexis eagerly, regaining his ability to think.
"Not today," said Sechs sharply. "Pair off again. Nexis and Zweix, Derix and Verix. Try sparring again, but try to match rhythms. Fighting is like a dance. If you see an opening to strike, take it."
Nexis turned to face his wimpy sister. "Fighting is like a dance-shmantz," he mocked. "Let's get this over with."

Derix found that his mouth had opened slightly as he watched his mother demonstrate with Nexis. So this Hertza whatever could kill in an instant? The kit's eyes narrowed as he thought of the fun he could have with such a move in his possession.
But for now, it was back to sparring. He grinned as once more, Zweix was paired off with another sibling. Just his luck. Fighting with that excuse for a Kitsu was a laughing matter, and something Derix found he had no patience for.
He hopped some distance away from Nexis and Zweix, turning to face Verix. "Come on then, dear sister. I suspect you're rather annoyed at that last match with One-Eye." He sneered at Zweix as he said this. "Let's have some proper fun."
"Maybe because he doesn't have any emotions?" Xelon replied, giving his brother a look. Of course Lune would be able to lie without lifting a paw. He shook his head and sighed. "Perhaps you should just refrain from doing magic around her to save yourself some trouble."
