Well, that made sense, he supposed, after hearing the mare out completely. "I suppose it is more that we simply never seem to come together. My parents would love to see all their children, they're very... caring... parents, but it just never seems to come to pass. I haven't even met two of my siblings, to be honest. Only heard about them." He gave her a sidelong glance before continuing. "May I ask a question, miss? You've no need to answer it, unless you want to. You say you have a big family, but don't understand family? I really don't understand. "

She sighed while rolling her eyes a bit, since the stallion wasn't understanding her words at all. "My sisters are family, but apparently there is standard that certain families have, with all this lovey dovey bullcrap. I've never seen if for myself, but I know it exists. That's why I don't understand family." Yeah, it was as simple as that! With a light shrug, she yanked at her anchor a bit while feeling the demanding water at her hooves. "Water's changing." she then said, while glancing her eyes off into the distance. Was a storm coming? She couldn't tell at all, but her dull expression continued to mold itself into a sadistic grin. "I love when the water changes." she then said, in a cold voice.

Reflection was quiet for a moment, absorbing her comment about family, so he didn't, at first, notice the twisting of the mare's expression. "I wouldn't call what my family has lovey-dovey bullcrap. If we did, we'd see each other more, now wouldn't we?" He glanced over towards her, and now did see her expression. His muscled body tensed, blood-filled eyes narrowed, and his voice was slow, cautious. "I can see that." he said, finally, after a moment.
Now that she'd spoken aloud, he could feel the water shifting around behind him, feel the sand shifting under him. The salt seemed to sting his nostrils more than it had been, as his focus narrowed down to two things- the off-kilter mare, and the water swirling around his ankles.

Delmare was quiet in observation as the stallion shifted his thoughts, and she giggled to herself before pondering her next words. "Does the water make you nervous when it changes like this?" Her eyes were directly on the stallion's, and her mouth was crooked with delight. "Its only proving to everyone how alive it really is, making a statement everyone once in awhile when it can." Ah yes, it awakened even her own blood that resided in her veins. The mare then bent over and stuck her nose into the water, while slowly raising her neck to feel the newly formed breeze. "My blood is boiling with delight!" Was a storm on the way? Her attention was completely off of the stallion at this point, and she was hardly worried if he cared.

He raised a brow, pondering his next words. Like his father, he had been raised to be chivalrous. But unlike him, Reflection had a certain level of... common sense, when it came to the other gender.
And this mare was batshit crazy.
"You realize, that technically, if your blood was boiling you wouldn't be able to be alive?" he asked, in an uncharacteristically small voice. "But no, the water doesn't make me nervous. It's a part of nature, after all. It's not deliberately malicious, it can't help being what it is. The sea rises, the sea falls. Just like the sun rises and sets. Respect it, and it won't kill you."

Delmare ignored the first words of the stallion, knowing that he was trying to boast himself in knowing that silly little truth about life. She only grunted after he stated such a comment, and glared as he finished his after-words. "Respect it.. that's funny." she then said, while glancing at the water. "There are days when she doesn't care about respect, and that's for sure." The water did what it wanted, and the stallion had that understanding at least. "You are lucky, you haven't seen some of the craziness that the water can produce." Oh well, his outlook on water was so very simple, so it made sense that he hadn't experienced any dilemmas or conflicts.
"You don't seem like the type who would never stand and talk like this." she then said, while beginning to laugh in delight. "Since I am the first random soquili for you to run in to, why are you wasting your time so much? I can't be that interesting."

"Well, honestly, I'm wondering if you're just nutters." he said finally, eyeing the mare. "And you're attractive, and I'm a male. Nutters or not, I think it's instinct to appreciate the view for a little, at least, right?" At least until she made even one aggressive move, then it would be either a fight, or... "After all, I don't meet enough people to know when I'll get to see it again."
Honesty really was the best policy, just like his father had told him. Huh. Too bad he felt like he and this mysterious female were speaking to each other on two completely different levels.

"Yes, the view of the water is nice, isn't it." Her gaze was sharp and tense, and she turned herself so that her head was far away from the male's. Males were such horrible creatures, she couldn't STAND the way they acted most of the time. Especially, when they made comments just like a few minutes ago. "I don't give pity hang-outs. Nor am I crazy. You are just assuming I am crazy because you don't understand me, and that's not fair, is it?" Her teeth were grinding at this point, and she wisped her head back in his direction with a furious hmph!
"Instinct, that's what males always ******** rely on. I don't know why I am always so shocked when they pull instinct out of their a**." Delmare didn't need instinct, she only needed herself, even IF that meant being crazy! "Go waste your instinct on some other mare!"

There was a blink, and Reflection gave a bit of a shrug. "Okay." Ahh, the training his mother had beat into him. "As you wish. Nice meeting you?" he gave a bit of a grin, and turned his heavy body, continuing away from the mare at a controlled walk, humming a little bit. Still, she struck him as crazy. He'd only been telling the truth... well, minus the fact that she had made the back of his mane p***k up.
Still, it was rather a shame that his first non-family related meeting had come out so poorly. Perhaps he needed to work on his social skills? His mother had mentioned something once called 'tact'... maybe that would help?

Well, THAT was easy, easn't it? Delmare spat at the ground as she watched the stallion walk away, and her eyes inched along and followed his body until it vanished. Why had he concluded that it was nice meeting her, when clearly it wasn't? "How fabulous and exhausting." she then commented, while turning herself to the water. For now, she could zone out as she always did, and ignore such silly male tactics. That was all she needed to keep going.
