Senora was chained to the wall by several thick chains, two to each wrist cuff, two to each leg cuff, and four to the clamp around her neck. She had long since lost count of how long she had been down here, a prisoner in what was once her own world. It was a faint memory, the day she had asked to be locked away, now all she wanted was out. She didn't care how she did it, no matter how many necks she had to snap, no matter how many lives she had to take, she wanted her freedom back.
"They don't even come to see you anymore!!" She hissed, breaking the silence in her cell. By which she was refferring to her parents. "Dead." She began in a quiet and never-ending mumble. "Dead. Dead. Dead. They're dead to me."
"She's loosing it more and more each day." The guard said as he at the bottom of the stairwell accompanied by a doctor, both were trusted to stay quiet about the whole thing, after all no one was to know, about a nearly full demon girl being kept prisoner in the cellar nor of the snake who had bit her. Stepping forward the gaurd kneels down and slides a tray across the stone floor towards the chained girl.
Senora's voice changed as she looked up, breaking off her death chant she gave a soft fanged smile. Her eyes now colorless, souless, blank spots on her face that gazed directly through her visitors and although it appears she has no eyes she can indeed see.
The girl let her head lawl back against the stone wall and ran a hand by her once jet black hair, now turned silver with venom. "You're early today." She stiffled a chuckle starring up at the ceiling. "You still come to visit me." She looked back towards them with the smile she had always had before. A smile full of comfort and peace.
Turning the tray toward her she picked up a small loaf of bread placed on the side. "The Bakery." She whispered holding the food up to her nose to smell. She placed it back down and looked towards her guests. I'm feeling better now." She said quietly. "Would I be so privledged to see the sun again? I miss it so. A short walk or maybe a window? This place is so dark, it would be nice to have some light. And if not that, then perhaps longer chains, it is ever so hard to fall asleep sitting up. Please? My neck hurts when I awaken in the morning and my bones ache from being anchored here."
The two consulted but only for a moment and then the guard turned. "Senora we cannot consent to any of those and you know why."
"Because no one's suppose to know about me. That's why Mommy and Daddy don't come anymore." Senora said spitefully. It was just rumors she had heard about her own death. Apparently it had been announced that she had died from illness. She figured her parents were being paid to stay quiet about the entire deal.
"No it's because the last time we tried to lengthen the chains you tried to run, killing 2 guards in the process. It's becoming difficult to cover this mess up." The guard turned as did the doctor and they headed back up the stairs to leave the girl once more.
"I will get out of here, you know. Don't think I'll forget all that has happened. I'll snap all of your spines just like I do these rats in this dungeon. I'll come for you!! You, the Mayor, dear ole Mommy and Daddy, everyone who has ever been apart of this."
The Guard and doctor had since left as Senora went on planning vengance. She felt her muscles tighten as she slid down to the floor the kind part of her heart had worked it's way forward and tears crept out of the corners of her eyes as her voice softened. quiet sobs left her lips as she began to cry and plead for forgiveness of those who had since left. "I'm so sorry," She breathed. "Please forgive me. It's not me. It's not me. I'm so sorry."

After wondering around the village some more, Kinu stopped in the square. A few passersby paused, watching her. They all knew why she came here, and despite the discomfort she gave them, they had to admit she put on a good show.
She closed her eyes and folded her hands as she breathed purposefully. Then she began dancing. She had the steps memorized. Some movements were graceful, some were alluring, and some were even violent. Every time she turned, the tone of the dance seemed to change.
Next she began to add special effects. A stream of smoke began to swirl around her feet, and every so often, sparks would fly from her hands as she swung them in differant directions. People talked quietly and gawked as the mesmerizing dance continued. Eventually you could no longer see the ground she was stepping on, and one could say it looked like she was dancing on a cloud.
Then in another puff of smoke, she vanished. Hushed murmurs filled the square as the people looked around, unaware of some nearly invisible little shadows moving on the ground. Seconds later, she reapeared at the opposite end of the square, and bowed low as the people applauded. She smirked to herself. She always had loved attention.

Filtiarn sat, cross-legged, and had watched the woman do an elaborate dance that had aroused him. Then she had performed a magic trick. Mmmm... beautiful and intelligent... we really do need to play with that one... Stop it you b*****d! Don't do it! True... she isn't as pretty as that other one... NO! -"Ah, be quiet, ya pest." Filtiarn stood and was hunched over. He lumbered off back into the mountains, stretching his large wings. Once out of sight from the village, Filtiarn spread his wings and beat the air powerfully, forming minuscule whirlwinds. Filtiarn flapped the wings harder and harder, and soon was hovering above the ground. Filtiarn began rising higher and higher, until the village was but a speck on the enormous slate of ground. He then began swooping down through the mountains, searching for food. After a long while, after finding no humans, Filtiarn fell upon a goat, and using claws, ripped it's throat open. He ended the fountain of blood by putting his mouth around the wound and drawing from it the goat's red elixir. He then opened his great maw wide, and began devouring the goat.

In the evening air, Flau walkedslowly through the village, medicine book in hand. Even though she had read this book two times already, cover to cover, she believed that she might have missed something. Seeing Sofia ahead, amusing a child with stories of her youth, she quickened her pace.
"Sofia! I need you to go prepare the sanctuary for our prayers. I will return in a while," she told the disgruntled apprentice. Sofia sighed and said goodbye to the boy.
"Another time, 'kay kid," she murmured, earning a smile from the child and a sharp glance from Flau. Modifying her sentence slightly, she tried again.
"I will see you again. Be safe, child,"
This time, the reactions were reversed. Flau was happy, but the boy wasn't so excited at the formality. Turning on his heels and running off, Flau silently prayed for his safety. Then, turning to Sofia, she smiled warmly.
"Goodbye,"
"Goodbye..." replied Sofia, turning to walk in the other direction. Flau continued on her commonly treaded path through the village.
~
As Flau walked, she caught sight of 'that creepy gypsy woman' as she liked to call Kinu performing a mafic trick. The other youth of the village had taken to calling her that as well behind her back. Slowing down, she called out a greeting once the woman was finished.
"Good evening, Miss Kinu! How's it goin'?"
Smiling to herself, Sofia noticed that while her first sentence was more formal, she had reverted back to her normal speech for her second sentence.

Kinu turned to see the young priestess and smiled as the crowd around her began to scatter and return to their daily routines. There had always been something about that girl's personality that she liked. She could be so nice sometimes. However, she was also aware that the girl had a sharp tounge too.
"Sofia my dear, it's good to see you again!" she beamed, and gestered to the pile of money she was holding in the folds of her dress which she had recieved from the villagers after her performance, "I'm doing quite well today, as you can see. How are you?"

"I'm doin' good. That was an interesting trick you pulled on the villagers. I enjoyed watching. You have so much talent," Sofia commented, grinning. Even though she did like to call Kinu creepy, she was still highly interested in what the woman did. She guessed that part of it was her trying to discover other routes in life besides the two she had already experianced. Although she had enjoyed the way of the blacksmith, and she was slowly adjusting to her new life as a priestess, she still didn't feel settled.
"So, where are ya headed now?" she asked, feeling at ease. Kinu had that effect on her, allowing her to slip into more informal speech.

"Why thank you," Kinu bowed slightly, but not so much as to spill the coins, "I suppose I'll be heading home now, to get this all in a safe place. You should come and visit sometimes when you get the chance. Oh, here, take this," she took a small amount of money from her robes, and handed them to her, "Some of it goes to the temple for an offering to the gods, and the rest you can use to buy yourself something pretty. Just because you're a priestess doesn't mean you can't have nice things."
Kinu knew that she herself was a bit worldly by religeious standards, but she had her reasons. And the atmosphere at the temle had always been a comforting one to her, so she also like to donate to keep it that way.
"And what, might I ask, are you doing this lovely evening?" she rarely saw the girl doing nothing, whether it be something for her own enjoyment, or Flau was sending her out on various tasks. The young priestess almost seemed to have two lives, as was hinted by her two forms of speech. At least that's how she had observed it to be.

((If it's okay, I'm going to quickly use the mayor as an npc. He's still open as a character, however)) Shocked, Sofia accepted the coins. "Thank you, Miss Kinu! Of course I'll visit," she exclaimed, grinning. When Kinu asked her what she was doing, she sighed. "I'm actually heading back to the temple to prepare for Miss Flau's and my prayers. This will help out a lot," she explained, slipping the coins into a small pouch at her side. "See ya in a little while, Miss Kinu. I should get going!" she finished, turning to leave. -~- Walking towards the mayor's house, Flau closed her book. "Maybe this will help..." she sighed, knocking on the door before her. The mayor opened his door and peeked out. Seeing Flau, he nodded. "Yes, yes, come in, Miss Flau. How has your day been? May I offer you some tea?" he asked, smiling the whole time. Flau quietly declined the tea, and asked if she could sit down. The mayor consented, and sat opposite her. "Mr Mayor, my reasons for coming here are important. The young girl, Senora. Where is she? Why haven't I seen her lately? Could it be perhaps that she was bitten by the Demon Snake that has been plaguing our region lately?" she asked, getting straight to her point. The mayor's face whitened. "I don't know what you're talking about, Flau! What is this 'Demon Snake you speak of? Oh, I get it! Those monks at the Temple of Niaran must have told you a legend of some sorts, and you took it seriously! Oh ho ho, young Miss Senora sadly died in an accident a while back. It was very quiet, just her family for the funeral. I'm sorry you didn't hear about it," he stammered, trying to push a smile back onto his face. Flau's face grew stern. "Very well, Mr Mayor. Turn a blind eye. I will find a cure for this, mark my words!" she snapped, standing up. Turning on her heels, she stormed out of the house. Once she was a few feet away from the mayor's house, Flau calmed herself down. "Why? Please, Niaran, tell me what to do!" she whispered, putting her face into her hands.

Filtiarn lumbered back to his place, peering out from behind the same rock ledge. He felt Dolphus immediately struggle for control as he saw her. She was frequently with a priestess, but now she wasn't. Filtiarn took a step forward before grabbing his head, snarling. Dolphus fought hard, stronger than usual for his strength now. Filtiarn lumbered away from the ledge, still fighting Dolphus. Filtiarn stepped further away and felt Dolphus stop. YOU-WILL-NOT-TOUCH-HER! Dolphus let out a horrific roar, full of rage and pain. He then lumbered away, clutching his now-pained head. He stumbled over to a cave and entered it, moaning and growling.

((it's fine, any of the main characters that haven't been taken yet can be treated as NPCs until then))
"Of course. Always happy to help!" Kinu beamed. She twitched when she heard a beast-like cry come from the mountains above. Several people nearby jumped, and some ran for cover as though expecting the creature to come from the sky. Kinu just stood there, scratching her chin as she eyed the ledges closely.
"I should investigate that," she mused aloud, earning her looks of various degrees of horror and shock. She just chuckled when she noticed, and began to saunter toward the town's edge and the tent she lived in outside to gather some supplies before it got too dark. Anyone could join her, she wouldn't mind the company. But she knew there weren't very many people here that would be willing to their lives on the line in such a way.

Senora's pale hair was strewn across her face, she'd just gotten over a terrible fit and she knew it was coming back. Her breathing was deep and airy as she counted the cracks on the wall, anything to occupy her mind. Once that failed she began to sing a children's rhyme, her voice was the only part of her that seemed human, it sounded like it always had before the incident, soft and fluent - like a song bird.
As she sung, thoughts tore at the back of her mind. "What makes you dead? Is it when your heart stops beating or is it when everyone refuses to acknowledge your existence." The thoughts repeated themselves over and over and the longer they lingered the loud she sang. "You could get out of here. You have the strength to break these chains."
"Blow wind, blow And go, mill, go:" She sang a little louder.
"Wouldn't it be nice to see the sun again. you miss it don't--"
"That the miller May grind his corn; That the baker may --" she continued the rhyme.
"You want out, then leave.--"
"--take it, And into rolls make it And bring us some Hot in the morn!!"
"You can't fight this forever!" The voice hissed in her mind.
"Blow wind, blow And go, mill, go: That the miller May grind his corn; That the baker may take it, And into rolls make it And bring us some Hot in the morn."

((this character will become important later. You can't interact with her just yet))
A lovely, mature woman stood on the mountain's highest ledge. A temple resided in silence behind her, far from the reach of most humans. Her slitted eyes were closed as she felt the gentle evening breeze on her face. She was safe up here. Safe from all the troubles of the world below...and from creatures that prefered the places where air was stale, and never moved.
She laughed heartily to herself at the thought, her golden eyes gleaming as she thought venomously, "Just let that pesky brat try! See if she can beat me here! The poor fool doesn't stand a chance. She never has, and never will."
She chortled again, admiring the glowing orb in her hands. It shimmered brightly, like a tiny sun. A priceless treasure. Her treasure. A treasure she would die protecting.

Reaching the sanctuary, Sofia took out roughly half of the coins that Kinu had given her and placed them in the offering dish. Then, she returned the rest of the coins to her pocket and started to prepare the sanctuary. Hearing a roar in the distance, she contemplated checking, but decided to stay where she was.
-~-
Flau heard the roar from the ledge, but paid no heed. She was still upset at the mayor and wondering why Niaran wasn't answering her ples.
