Intuthu listened intently to what she was saying. Not once did he think that she was talking too much. She was opening herself up while she spoke and that was enough for him to admire her even more.

"Your family and pride sound amazing!" He smiled and thought back to his own. The pride was splitting and he knew his siblings would be too. He wasn't sure what side his father would take but Intuthu was sticking with his mother.

"I have four brothers and one sister. All of them, well we are firekin." He let out a soft sigh. "I guess we just don't have the same kind of relationships as others do. We are brought up in a way that means we are far from well, our relationships just aren't as close." He was rambling, there was no doubt about it.

He let out another sigh. He envied her life, her family and her pride. They seemed to be so close and he didn't see that in his own pride. They were all so high and mighty that for some even showing emotion wasn't ever allowed. He thought of Ashi then, the lion was crazy. He didn't feel emotion and Intuthu was certain he was not normal in any way.

"Your life sounds so perfect." He forced a smile onto his face and then looked behind him at where he had come from. The desert, his home. Part of him didn't want to return but he knew he had to, for his mothers sake if nothing else.

Though she was a bit of a scaredy cat (okay, a lot of one) the lioness wasn't emotionless. In fact, she was quite a compassionate soul and her concern over others actions made her a fabulous reader of body language; her caring soul allowed her to be empathic even amidst her nervousness.

Still, spending time with the little lion cub was opening her up much more than she ever had imagined she might; in fact, more and more Intuthu wasn't so much a stranger as becoming a friend. That fact alone made him both a hundred times more terrifying and wonderful all at once! Oh, but she didn't want to get ahead of herself, no way. They weren't really friends, not yet at least, they were just talking and there was a good chance she'd never see him again once they parted ways.

No. . . . he was still just Intuthu and that would be that. The little firekin cub she chanced upon one warm afternoon.

Jumuu's ears pinned a bit as the pale lion explained his own family; they weren't close with one another which was something the little female struggled to understand. How could a family not be close with each other? That's what made them a family, wasn't it? Still, the smile he offered her as he dubbed her own life 'perfect' made her frown ever so slightly. . . .

Intuthu just didn't seem very happy with the subject of family. Not. At. All.

"Oh, it really isn't perfect," she was quick to inform, golden eyes turning up to him, knitted in concern. "I'm not very close to my siblings either, at least not compared to others. And my parents have duties in the pride that keep them away. . . . . In fact I'm not. . . . Well, I'm kind of lonely even with everyone around me too." It wasn't a lie, it was the genuine truth. Her fear inhibited her relationships and while her siblings ran out and about and got to know their pridemembers, Jumuu tended to play the lone wolf.

It wasn't easy, but her fear had always kept her distanced from the world.

The adolescent shifted a little finding that staying in one place for quite a long time, well it was painful to say the least. He never stopped looking at her though and he did just feel comfortable around her. He made his decision then that he would come back and see her as often as he could. He was sure that they would be good friends they seemed to have so much in common that it surprised him. He had always been the odd one, the one his mother punished the most because he was too soft and gentle and that wasn't right. Yet here was someone who seemed to accept him and well she was just nice.

He listened as she spoke and more and more they seemed to have something else in common. The firekin was a large pride and he always felt alone in it. He had sworn to attack that stupid lion one day but he knew that he couldn't on his own. Ashi was an example of a pure firekin and Intuthu wasn't and he knew that. He let out a soft sigh.

"I understand."

He took in a deep breath and looked skywards for a minute before looking back at Jumuu, why was it so easy to talk to her?

"I have the same problem at home. I wasn't like the others, I wasn't a true firekin." He let out another sigh.

"Mother use to beat me a lot because I wasn't like I should be and so I spent most of my time alone, occassionally with my sister but she was a perfect firekin and already a near perfect huntress." He smiled a little, he really did understand.

"Our pride, well you aren't suppose to be close to anyone. I have felt lonely most of my life but I couldn't dare mention it, mother would have punished me for it, I'm sure." Why was he being so honest around her? It was strange. He had never felt this comfortable before but oh he loved it, he was happy to just lay here and talk to this stranger who really wasn't much of a stranger anymore. He really liked her, he felt free around her. He didn't have to pretend.

Jumuu winced as the pale lion explained exactly what it meant to be a 'firekin'. . . or at least gave a pretty clear example. Never in her life could she believe that a mother, much less his own mother, could do something so harsh to a cub. Given, she'd heard rumors of creatures treated badly or neglected, but never had she witnessed any such behavior in the Nchi'mahadhi. Heck, the more she realized it, after talking with Intuthu, the more lucky she had become.

Her pride was all about music, dancing, and generally having a party. So how could the desert pride (which was one of their neighbors) be so completely different? Something told Jumuu that she would do well to stay far from the firekin. . . well, all except Intuthu, of course.

Lowering her head to rest them on her paws, the young adolescent listened as he explained himself. "I'm sorry things were...are... so rough," she finally murmured, averting her gaze as guilt welled up within her. It wasn't fair for him to have to go back to a pride that he didn't fit in. . . "But maybe you'll find someone in there that's like you. If you feel lonely perhaps, if the pride is really big, others are just as a lone as you." She shrugged her shoulders at the suggestion, knowing that it was a rarity indeed. "But . . . " Jumuu hesitated, ears flattening as a new fear seemed to overwhelm her.

She was going to be risky but it had to be done, for both their sakes. "If you ever do feel lonely you can always come visit me. And my pride," she added hastily, wanting to include her bigger family in the process. "That way you won't have to feel so alone, even if your pride treats you rough." She nodded, the logical part of her mind certain that it was a friendly and welcoming thing to do. He was a friend, wasn't he? Or. . . well. . . at least on the way of becoming one.

Mother and father would be so proud, especially since she had no other companions.

"But you surely don't have to, mind, just. . . just if you ever wanted to." Oh, hopefully he didn't think she was trying to pressure him to come back. She didn't want him to feel guilty if he didn't because, as far as she understood, he could just be acting personable out of obligation! Or . . something of that sort. Oh bother, her anxiety sky rocketed and she held her breath as she waited for him to scoff at her idea.

Maybe she shouldn't of said anything at all because he might very well say no.

He watched her as he spoke and part of him worried that he said was causing her more distress that it did he. He watched her reactions but as she spoke he was shocked by the emotion behind her words. It was as if she cared about what had happened to him and that just, well confused him.

"It's okay, it's just erm... well normal. I guess I don't know anything different so please, don't feel bad about it."

He let out a soft smile as he spoke and then she asked her question and he couldn't help but smile even more.

"I would love to come and visit you! I can visit every day if you would like?" He offered the chance to her because well, he did like her. She seemed to be a lot like him in some strange way. Oh how he liked to spend time with her more as she was someone that he could at last talk to.

"I would very much like to visit, I like talking to you. It's nice, to be able to talk. There is no one at home who would understand and even if they did, the trouble I could get in for just voicing those opinions. Thanks you for listening to me ramble on for so long already!" He smiled at her being completely honest.

How could someone not be concerned over Intuthu's state of being? It wasn't everyday she met a lion that admitted so freely to abuse and punishment. In fact, the more she thought about the Firekin's way of life (ignorant as she might be) the more it sounded quite unpleasant! Why should he get punished and have everyone consider it normal? In fact, it stunned her that he accepted the abuse so freely and without objection. . . .

It was just normal, a way of life for him. "It still doesn't make it right," she blurted out, unable to keep said objection to herself. Her ears flattened for a moment as she glanced away, not liking the idea of him returning to a land where all he'd do is get in trouble. There was nothing wrong with talking or caring. . . . In fact, there was a world of 'differences' even he could partake in!

Ah, but her concern was momentarily displaced as Intuthu seemed pleased at her suggestion. Ears pricking, the young lioness smiled and wagged her tail a bit, her own golden eyes lighting at the chance. Everyday? A friend to meet her everyday, someone to talk to. . . ? Oooooh. . . . . . "I . . . I'd love it if you could. . .or, if you'd get in trouble visiting everyday, than at least. . . well . . soon. I'm not used to talking so freely myself, but I . . .I think I could get used to it, at least with you." Offering a little shy laugh, the young lioness added softly, "You're my very first friend." And that was someting Jumuu was quite unaccustomed to.

Intuthu was inviting the ebony and spotted girl to tread on territory she'd never walked before; it was new for her but incredibly healthy. With luck they'd continue to get along splendidly. . . and perhaps he'd keep his word. Eventually she would have to part and head back to the Nchi' to continue her lessons and trials. . . . The two couldn't chatter like this forever.

Intuthu couldn't believe how against it all she was and in a way it kind of pleased him that she was. It somehow made him feel better. He just smiled at her, a little thank you smile. Oh he was glad his mother had sent him away through out all the fighting.

"I can try... no I won't try I will. I will come every day even if I have to fight my way here. It shouldn't be hard, a few of our lions leave the lands to hunt. The desert doesn't have much in the way of food." He smiled. It was new territory for him as well, this whole friendship thing. He had never really understood how one could be able to talk as freely as this without feeling judged in some way or another.

"You are my first friend too!" He smiled, making a decision right there and then that he would tell his mother about Jumuu. A friend was much better then a pride right? Though he knew his mother wouldn't allow him to be kicked out without some sort of fight but then he had a friend and he wanted to spend time chatting and hunting and messing about like friends are suppose to do.

He smiled, so happy at the thought and then he looked to the sky. He should probably be heading back. His mother wanted to meet him in not too long.

He let out a sigh, he didn't want to go. He wanted to sit here and talk about really random and unimportant things but he knew his mother and he didn't wish to be late.

"I should probably head off, mother will be waiting to make sure I am alright." He smiled and let out another sigh. He really didn't want to have to leave her.

Jumuu lit up and felt extremely pleased that the little lion cub was going to be her first friend and meet her everyday! This would mean she'd have a friend to look forward to meeting and it would even get her out of the Nchi'mahadhi lands to explore! Yes, it was a good thing she didn't flee when the stranger had approached. . . a very good thing indeed.

Golden eyes glowed brightly as she gave a nod to Intuthu, peeking up at the sky herself. There was still much to do within the pride and she had to finish lessons with some of the adults. They wouldn't like her to be absent and off the pride lands for long, oh no! Rising to her paws, Jumuu found she wished him to stay longer, and already was anxious to see him once again.

Oooh . . . wait until her family heard about this. "I should return to my lands too," she responded gently, glancing down at her paws for a moment before offering the young cub a much more relaxed and genuine smile. She wasn't quite as nervous as she had been intitially and her body language proved it. "I don't want you to be late or leave your mother waiting; I'll . . . I'll come back here tomorrow, around the same time, perhaps, and with luck I'll get to see you again! If you get here and I'm not here, feel free to keep heading to the Nchi lands, just over yonder; all you'll have to do is ask for me." There, that covered all possibilities, right?

In case he couldn't come tomorrow, or couldn't get away until later, this way he'd know he'd be welcome to seek her out anytime. She most certainly didn't dare approach the desert lands of the firekin, oh no. Heaving a small sigh herself, the lioness waited for her friend to run off before she'd head back to the welcoming sight of her pride.

Though she was sad to see Intuthu leave now, the young lioness also understood that she would see him again soon.

((I think this is just about wrapped; feel free to call it FIN or tack on a final post. :3 And let me know when you'd like some more Jumuu/Intuthu RP!))
