She pulled back -- timid, meek -- watching him. Watching him battle his mind. He started to shake his head.
She wanted to help him, but it was impossible. No one could help him, just like no one could help her. She was a hopeless case. She'd spent years on the run, running from her past, running from the wolves' disgusted glances at her as she leapt from the cliff and into the rushing river.
She could almost feel the water running through her fur, soaking her to the bone. She could almost feel the death. And she shivered.
Then, just like that, he accepted. Bipo's heart gave a lurch and she went from solid to animated in a moment's time. She gave a yip and pranced up to him, standing on her hind feet.
She wanted to thank him, to grovel and nibble and lick him over and over. Gracious. Then, she threw herself into a playbow, nipped at his shoulder, and took off across the forest...happy, for once in a long while.

With a mighty lurch of muscles honed from hunting for himself and the pack, Eiros lunged into a run after the brightly colored female. And despite himself, he found himself enjoying the swift pace that she set, the burn of muscles as he ran for the simple reason that he could. It'd been a long while since he'd done anything just for the sake of it. Paws nimbly picking their way among ground that had become home in the months since their occupation, he pursued Bipolar.

She pranced across the forest, looking back over her shoulder at different times to see where he was. The larger wolf was headed straight at her! She gave a shriek-yip of excitement, her muscles buzzing with the adrenaline. Turning on a dime (and nearly slipping in the spring mud as she did so) she doubled back around, meeting his eyes for a brief moment as she blew past him, the grin evident on her open maw.
Oh, how she'd missed this...
The memories of her pack were visually hazy, but she could still feel... That she could never run from. All she could do was go forwards.
She tore past the place where they'd met, the smell of blood still there but faint. Again she spun, taking off in yet another direction, moving rapidly, impulsively, like a young herding dog on speed.
And then the ground was gone and the world collided with her. A sharp pain ran through her as her forepaws buckled and her chin smashed into rock. Blood tasted in her mouth and she collapsed, panting.
Where the rain had fallen, it'd caused a deep drop down into a small chasm. It was now a little cave-like thing, not dangerous on its own but mixed with her reckless speed...
Bipolar heaved herself to her feet and tried to climb the mudslick slope, but white blinded her vision once again and she cried out, sliding back down to rest in the mud.
What if he couldn't find her? What if she died down here? The thoughts were enough to send her into a shaking frenzy and she closed her eyes, trying to will her own demons away. How could something so fun go so terribly wrong?

Larger than Bipolar, Eiros was slightly less agile, but that slight amount was enough to keep the female just out of reach. But he was intoxicated with the thrill of the game, a sort of game he hadn't played since puppyhood when he had been far less swift and far more clumsy. Fortunately for the both of them, he was far enough behind the female that when he saw her suddenly disappear from sight, he managed to skid to a halt just before he too tumbled into the chasm with her. At her yelp, he nearly bolted down into the ravine anyways, emotional walls blasted down--for the time being--by the adrenaline, the situation, and a simple overwhelming urge to aid her. With a whine, he paced back and forth over the span of a few paces above and in front of her. "You're injured..." He knew he should get help, but didn't want to leave the wounded female at the mercy of the elements and anything that should happen to stumble upon her while he sought it.

She was jerked out of her fearful reverie at his voice and relief slammed through her. She wasn't going to be abandoned there! She stood up, ankle-deep in the mud, her mostly green paw pulled up to her chest in pain. "Yeah..." Her own whine followed his and she started up the slope again, three footed, desperate to meet his gaze, needing the reassurance.
Of course, she slid right back down. "What do I do?"

Eiros was silent as he paced back and forth for a few moments, searching for a way down. Finding a place where the slope wasn't quite so steep, he looked back at her. "Do you think that you could make it up if...I came down to help?" While his voice was hesitant, his body spoke otherwise. The strength that had once lain within Eiros was not gone...simply hidden, buried by pain and regrets.

Her icy eyes were glued on him the entire time, a whine rising in her throat. It wasn't just from the pain in her leg and shoulder, but from something deeper...
She could still see the way they looked at her, gazes hateful and suspicious as they glanced between her and the dead yearling -- her own daughter -- at her paws. Blood speckled her face and chest and immediately, she was the assumed murderer...
And she'd run. She'd believed their gazes and their hate. She'd leapt off the cliff to her death only to wash up to shore unharmed but a few bruised ribs.
And now...this wolf wanted to help her.
"M-Maybe?"

Grunting softly, Eiros made his way down the slope, sliding down for a distance at several points. Reaching Bipolar's side, he examined her upheld leg for a moment. "Not a good idea to use that right now, but you won't have much of a choice if you want to get out of here," he commented, tone matter-of-fact. "I'll do what I can to support you, but I can only do so much." Searching around, he stood and looked back at her from a point that he thought looked like it might be easier to scale. "Coming?"

She nodded as Eiros looked over the situation in a grim but determined manner. She stood, when all she wanted to do was curl her paw underneath her for warmth and sleep. But sleeping could kill her at this moment...
"Okay. I'm ready!" she murmured, though enthusiasm wasn't a brilliance of hers. Nor was pain, as she winced, looking up the slope. "We'll get outta here, Eiros. Just tell me what to do..."
Her voice was soft, faint, but she was ready to move. The sooner she was out of the hole, the better.
