Mkia blushed a little, looking sheepish, "NO. No I can't tell them that I'm scared... they'd just get worried because I'm being stupid. I don't need to be older to be braver... I can get brave now." She smiled happily, "After all, if I don't strive for it now, then it'll just stop me when I get older. I don't want anything to stop me." She frowned slightly, her nose twitching, "I mean... I don't exactly know what I'll do once I get over this fear thing, but I'll figure it out once I'm over it."
She was glad for his advice though, so she smiled at him, "Do you have adventures? I mean... do you have a family, or friends you have crazy stories with? I bet you do... Like you said, you're not scared of anything! I bet you can do whatever you want and you never back down!" If that was the case, it was certainly how she wanted to live.

Jude nodded along with her words to show that he was listening. He had already said all he knew to say to her about bravery. Losing words, he scrambled to find more. "That's good. You shouldn't let anything stop you. I don't."
He was startled when she turned the conversation back to him. "I, um..." suddenly shy, Jude turned and looked away from her as he tried to think of something good to say. Did he really have adventures? "I do what I want to do, so yeah, I guess I have adventures. Like one time there was this fog, and I met this colorful leopard - I think he was a leopard, I never did get a good look at him - and elephants almost stepped on us."
Okay, so he was exaggerating. But his life wasn't really exciting. It was mostly just as boring as anyone else's. How much was there to do every day when you were mostly alone?
"And I, um. No. I don't have a family anymore. But there are some other kids I stay with. We help each other out, but we like...aren't all that close."
He was so boring. Feeling more stupid by the minute, Jude figured it was best for him to just shut up.

"THAT IS SO COOL!" While Jude seemed to find his life boring, Mkia didn't seem to think of it that way in the least. The very idea of living practically on your own and having a fun life with your friends like that? How could there POSSIBLY be a more fun way to live than that?
"Wow Jude! You're really awesome, you know that?" She grinned, standing up and looking completely over-whelmed by the idea, "I wish I could do that! You're so lucky to live with your friends... And you saw an ELAPHANT!? No way! I've never seen one before, but my parents told me about them!"
