Mawu took this chance to stay by her brother and perhaps-find him a smile or two. She stopped, turning on her heel and grinning at him. She began to walk back over to where he was-stepping lightly and with a huge grin. She stopped before the beetle, staring down at it. "What? You're afraid of it? Or does it Tweak your funny ear?" She asked, her eyebrow cocked.
She looked down to the beetle and stomped her foot next to it to see what it would do. "I wonder where you got that from?" She said teasingly, sitting down next to it. "I suppose they are so big so no one will eat them.
Afterall, no one wants to eat a big bug that won't fit in their mouth!"

Feeling the hair ridge along his back even more, Muskie continued to cling to the tree. Now glaring at his sibling, who was sitting next to the horrid little creature with no fear, he was not about to answer her question. He felt stupid enough that he was the only one effected by the horror and monstrosity of these insects. It didn't help that she kept stating how large it was! Why was she torturing him like this!? WHYYY?
"Not funny, sis..." he hissed. He wanted to kindly ask her to remove it, but if he did, then his hard work would be all for naught! There was no way he could ask such a thing of her just after stating he wanted nothing to do with her or her kindness. Now he was paying dearly for it. Surely if anyone else saw him like this, he'd be the laughing stock of the pride!

Mawu grinned over at her brother-her toe tapping the beetle on the back. How would she play this out-she could be a complete monster and flip the insect at her brother-or she could be a sweet angel and remove the terrible beast. She held the beetle in position with her toe-her other paw tapping her chin. "Hmmm. If i remove the nasty little bug with its enormous clicker-snappers.. Will my Lovely Brother grace me with-
-A smile!?" She asked, her eyebrow cocked. She pushed down on the beetle to make it a bit aggitated. She knew that her brother absoluetly hated these things and it made her thrilled. She didn't mind them at all. In fact-she rather liked some of them. Though this nasty beetle was a bit to gross for her tastes-she could easliy touch it without regret.
"I would move the creature-but what will I get in return? Hmm?

Muskie glared condescendingly down at his sister for a moment. Amazed that his kindly sibling would conjure such a pact, he didn't know what to think. It was evil enough that she was agitating the darn thing, making it move around too much. He wanted the bug to go away, but he would have rather allow himself to be run over by an elephant before smiling because she wanted him to.
For a few moments, his mind revolved around the possibilities. What good would come out of this and what wouldn't? There was no way he'd leave that tree unless that heinous creature was gone but at the same time, he couldn't allow himself to lower his own pride. Pride, or killer pincher bug? Pride or... Having finally making up his mind, Muskie suddenly gave her a big, fake, toothy smile. Aside from the fact that his mouth was gaping, his expression didn't change at all though he attempted to look happy, which resulted in his eyebrow twitching.
"Happy?" he asked through is clenched teeth.

Mawu grinned. Even know she could obviously see that the smile was fake as can be-it still brought her a feeling of power-dominance. He'd have to get used to that someday. She grinned wide. "You don't even know. She said, putting her paw fully over the nasty little creature-scooping up the beetle into mouth. She removed her paw, showing that the beetle was alive and flailing its legs wildly.
She pranced forward past her treed brother, into the jungle and quiet a few yards away before she put down the creature and scooted it away. She walked back just as happy, her head peeking out from the bushes. "I ate it-just for you brother of mine..." She teased, stepping out to watch him retreat from the tree

Not only was Muskie's ear twitching from his sister's footsteps, but his eye was too. DID SHE JUST PUT THAT THING IN HER MOUTH?? Not only that bud did she just say that SHE ATE IT!? His red eyes widened, Muskie stared at his sister in a mixture of dumbfounded and repulsion when she returned.
"Y-you did not just..." He gulped, not sure if he should let go of the tree just yet. "You just walked away and dropped it..."
He wasn't saying this because he was sure, but he said it in hopes that it was true and that his sister would agree with him. Despite that, she still put it in her MOUTH! He wasn't sure if she was brave or just plain crazy.

Mawu sat there grinning. She knew that the little stunt she pulled would gross him out beyound compare. Her purple eyes shown in her glee-a grin across her maw. She stood up and waddled to he base of the tree, rising up and raking her claws down its trunk-sending little scraps of the dark bark everywhere. She yawned wide up at him-showing him her big open and empty mouth. "I ate it. Whole. The buggar clamped the whole way down he did... 'nom nom nom'. "
She opened her shut her mouth with the last three statements-she resembled a gaping fish in a way. She lowered herself to the ground, stretching. "I let it go Muskie-do you seriously think I'd eat something like that. Sheesh.. thats just gross...
Now come down here..."

Eyes still wide, Muskie stared down at his sister and her crude antics. There was one word he had in mind for her question, and that was a flat-out- "No."
It was terrible how this whole thing was turned around on him like this. He never knew his chatty, yappy, happy sister to be so cruel. He smiled for her, didn't he? So why was she still proceeding to gross him out? What was even worse was the possible fact of this story getting out. He still had his own pride here. How was he able to defend it when she was carrying on like this?!
Just go away...
Letting out a sigh, Muskie dug his claws deeper into the wood and hoisted himself up onto a higher branch where he settled himself. It was the best way, in his opinion, to evade her for the time being.

Mawu stared up at him-her lower lip jutting out in a pout. Stupid brother... he had to make everything difficult... and that just ticked her off a little bit. She sighed, sitting back with her paws to her chest-staring up at him. Fine... He wanted to be alone-she was glad to attend that wish of his. Standing up, she lifted her head high and began to prance away from the tree-she had better things to do.
"Well.. I have better things to do brother-so stay in that tree all day-Mom or Dad will find you up there. You should really get over your un-fascination with bugs... big bugs." She said, turning to look over her shoulder at him. Then, with a snort-she vanished into the shrubbery. She did not stop if he spoke-only headed off to meet a sister for some gossip.

Muskie lifted his head and watched her go. Alone once more, he heaved a relived sigh as he rested his chin on his paws. He wouldn't expect her to understand the way he saw things or his reason for wanting solitude. It wasn't that he fully enjoyed it, but the lack of sound and noise made it easier for him to think. Muskie liked being in this state, escaping to a place to where he could be himself- where his thoughts mattered to him.
Though this sister of his was a pain in the rear, he still cared for her. What kind of brother didn't feel the need to protect his siblings? After the stunt she pulled, it was difficult to trust her now but he still couldn't help but be impressed with her cunning prowess. Keeping an eye on her from a distance was a good idea for now.
He'd leave the tree soon, but for now, the view up here was actually quite beautiful.
