"And it would smell and taste sweeter then grass, right?" Stripes said as he began to look around. He saw tons of pretty flowers. All of them giving off a sweet scent. He didn't see much green grass or bigger then grass stuff.

"Yeah! Of course! Sugar is very sweet!" She looked around and all she too could see were flowers. "I don't think there is any here. We have to go far away!" She closed her eyes, and letting go of his paw, she began to spin in circles. Finally she stopped and pointed in the direction she was facing. "Let's try that way!"

Stripes nodded. And watched and she pointed to a place they could look. It was as good as any he'd think of. "Okay, let's go." he began to walk that way. Not too fast as he didn't want to get ahead of Affera.

"Ok!" She said as she began to follow him.
They walked for awhile until they were out of the meadow and came upon a field. In the field were rows of tall green plants with yellow things on the top of them. Affera tilted her head and looked at them. "What is this stuff? It's not sugar cane..."

Stripes looked at the field. "Oh, well... I don't know. They are pretty and smell nice." He said as he went over to one. He then looked it over. No, the name was not comeing to him. Then again he didn't really know plants.

Affera jumped up, trying to reach the top of the stalk, but she couldn't quite make it. Then she noticed a shorter one nearby, which she was able to reach. She grabbed the yellow head off the top and examined it carefully. She then put it to her mouth and nibbled some of the kernels off.
"Mmm!" She said, smiling. "It's yummy! Kinda sweet...but...not really. I think it's a vegetable. Do you like vegetables?" She held some of it out so that Stripes could try some.

((lol my guess had been vanilla! Hee hee it's corn! biggrin ))
"I don't know. What is a vegi table?" Stripes was all for sweets. Really he hadn't eaten anything else. Only candy, sugar, cake cookies you name it. Which he did love.
Stripes sniffed at the yellow stuff. He then took a few kernels and put them into his mouth. Striped chewed. "It's not too bad."

Affera giggled. "Silly! A vegetable is...uh..." 'Hmm what is a vegetable?' She thought to herself. "Uh, well! It's food, and you eat it, and...it's good for you!" She smiled and nibbled off a few more kernels. "Yes, it is good! But oh! We must go find something sweet!" She still held the corn in her hand as she began to continue walking, hoping next they would come upon something sweet. "I'll bring this with us!" She said, holding up the corn.
((What kind of thing should they find next? XD))

Stripes nodded. "I see. So there is other food then just sweets?" He chuckled as he didn't know that. Which made him feel odd like what else had he not known?
"Maybe there will be something sweet next?"
((If we are in a garden how about a kind of fruit? They are sweet.))

"Yes, I hope so!" Affera looked around for any sign of growing plants nearby. A little ways past the corn field she saw what looked like a garden. Maybe there would be some fruit there she thought. She smiled and pointed in that direction. "Let's look over there!"

Stripes nodded and headed over to the little garden. There were many growing things there. THis made him smile as he had no idea about this stuff.
Stripes smelled something sweet. "How about these?" He pointed to red fruit that was small had seeds on the outside and were almost shaped like hearts.

Affera looked at the little fruit Stripes had pointed out. She examined it for a moment, and then she gasped in acknowledgment.
"I know what this is!" she said excitedly. "It's a strawberry!"
She smiled sweetly and handed it to Stripes. "Try it!" she urged him.

"Strawberry? Okay." He took the berry from Affera's hands. It was soft and it smelled very nice. He looked it over before taking a bite. "It is good." He said. He then took another bit and then another until he ate the green part. "Okay, that part didn't taste good."

Affera laughed as she watched him eat the strawberry, glad that he liked it. Then she laughed again when he ate the green part.
"No," she giggled, "the green part isn't sweet. It's not very good."
She then got a strawberry for herself and began to much on it happily, avoiding the green part.

"I see what you mean. Still, this is as good as candy." Stripes chuckled as he droped the green part to the floor. He then took another one and began to eat it too. "You don't think we'll get in trouble by eating someones food?"
