Maui smiled, blushing as well. "Strange that I should feel the same" she added with a melodious giggle. "Do you...want to join me in waiting for the stars to come out?" Maui asked sweetly, "We can, stop feeling so awkward and start talking about things we enjoy." She settled down slowly on the cliff side and looked back out to sea. The sun was gone now and the sky was beautiful shades a lavender and blues.

"That sounds both very pleasant and quite comfortable" Starseeker nodded, joining her side shyly. "Where should we start" began the energetic stallion. "We obviously share a liking in music and singing, as well as admiring sunset, twilight, night & the stars..." Starseeker put his head down in thought. They already knew each other pretty well since the fact they came from the same herd and were around each other often. What more was there to say really?
Then a thought struck him. His dad had told him stories about how he'd won mom's affection by asking her to be his life mate as the stars came out. Was it too bold or too soon to try the same? Starseeker was always the do-as-your-heart-tells-you type; just as his father before him was as well of coarse. The thought made him smile and he looked over at Maui. He decided he'd be cutely discreet.
"So I have this idea. How is it you'd go about asking someone to be your life mate when you're sure its right, but you don't know how the other feels?" he asked wittily.

Maui quickly turned pinker than her wings. Of coarse she didn't miss what that 'supposively obscure' statement meant. "R-really?! You think---you're sure?! I mean I'm pretty sure...I think...but...re-really?!" Maui stammered. Maui felt so fluttery inside that she just had to hide behind her wing to regain compose.

Maui peeked out from her wing finally and smiled childishly. She'd never felt so young and giddy before. It was the kind of things she'd always dreamed of but never expected. "Well, yes. I say yes for the sake of following my heart too. But no worries, I don't expect I'll not like you at some point in the future" she giggled.
