Keep bleeding love." Cleris fans say it's merely for connecting games and character designs. It doesn't involve the LTD at all. But somehow, because Aeris is bright and girly and because Cloud is dark and dreary, the two are together.

In actual reality that isn't true at all. xd It's similarities that people are attracted to. You can't have a relationship without anything to start on. (Psych nerd. xd )
The fact that the staff MADE their appearances AND personalities fit each other means that there has to be a connection between them.

I don't get it though, it connects the games because we now see the strong connection between Zack and Aeris, which connects to the connection Aeris and Cloud seem to have, because Cloud connects to Zack.
The argument falls flat unless they are trying to make the 'Crisis Core changes things so it's not canon and just a cute game' claim.
No one's denying here that Zack and Aeris' relationship helps connect the game to FFVII. It's actually a fantastic thing and proves to us that the events of Crisis Core had some affect on the events of FFVII. Like ALL prequels. XP
EDIT: Ya, and also the Cloud and Tifa being connected thing. We see these two couples in love being connected together... but no, it's meaningless because there's some symbolism that the creators have never pointed out themselves that proves something different. Lulz. Funny that they point out the symbolism between Zeris and Cloti, but not Cleris. If it's so obvious, why not? XP

CC has a huge effect on the story of FFVII since Zack entrusted his future, his dreams of being a hero to Cloud and a special request to look after Aeris for him. biggrin It's practically impossible to deny the existence of CC since it provides the connections prior to FFVII and the deeper feelings that go with it. biggrin
Oh....it's so sad.....I just remembered Zack's last words....
"Hey, do you think I became a hero?"
That just broke my heart. That's a little off-topic but it reminded me of his words.

When it comes to Cleris stuff, all you need to know is that SE has said that Cloud fell in love with Tifa, Tifa fell in love with Cloud, Zack fell in love with Aeris, Aeris fell in love with Zack. There's no official word from them that Cloud fell in love with Aeris, or vice verse, so they have to use symbolism and strawmen arguments to try and prove their pairing is the canon one.
Though, there's even more to it, since Cleris try to argue more about the story. Like that Cloud didn't take on Zack's persona (see my thread with tons of quotes saying otherwise), or that Aeris didn't fall for Cloud because of Zack (see the quote from CC saying that Aeris acts the way she does around Cloud in FFVII because of her feelings for Zack), ect.
Just don't worry about it though. There may have been a point where there was a debate, but it's long over now. Cloti+Zeris are canon, but like any fandom, there will be people who try to go against the creators since they like something else.

Which is impossible.....But yeah, that's all it boils down to really. A general statement like:
"loud fell in love with Tifa, Tifa fell in love with Cloud, Zack fell in love with Aeris, Aeris fell in love with Zack."
Gets all the Cleris fans angry and flamin'.

Ya well, too bad it's straight from SE. We've got the quotes, and they don't. They can flame all they want, but what it boils down to is the debate is done and the canon is set. If they don't like it, oh well.
