"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not." Ugh, Tifa bashers seem to be the worst. Most Aeris "haters" I've seen at least give their well thought out reasonings, and admit they may not be one hundred percent full proof, it's just the way they feel "so deal". rofl
Back to Tifa bashers. More than just that random rabid in the AC thread claim that Tifa is/was bratty and spoiled. Their liking of Cleris has made them go THAT low? :/

My all time FAVORITE reason for someone hating Tifa was

LOL. She fights with her fists! She couldn't possibly be a Monk class from the previous FFs. I'm finding more and more people who debate FFVII who hardly know the existence of the previous games. Even today, in a world where getting a copy of FFVII is extremely difficult, and getting a copy of the previous ones is easy. XP

That also reinforces the fact that they haven't played FFVII as well. Their ignorance of previous FF's only means that they are 1) not a dedicated fan 2) not a gamer 3) only like FFVII because Cloud and Aeris look "good" together.

Keep bleeding love." I noticed that most Cleris fans are not gamers. O____O They aren't gamer girls at all, they just "watched their boyfriend play it" or "heard about it from another Cleris fan".
That's too bad. Cloti isn't the only awesome thing about FFVII. rofl
I hate it when some Cleris fans only like FFVII because of Cleris. :/ Hell-llooooo.

Most of them are preps it looks it. *Sighs* It's the same with my friend (she's not a prep) but she watched her brother play FFVII a little and she fell in love with Aeris and decided to pair her up with Cloud, completely disregarding Tifa because she didn't like her skirt and pretty much ignorant of the storyline. (I love my friend by the way, she's a subtle Cleris fan who doesn't really care about it.)O

I have to agree. It seems much more like a manga reading crowd than a gaming crowd. They don't seem to realize video games aren't about all of these canon hidden loves, and that though the stories are complex, they aren't high school lovin complex. XP Not that people who read manga are all preps, but I think you know what I'm getting at.
I'll admit I watch my boyfriend play games sometimes, but it's not because I don't game, it's because it'll be a FPS or something and I normally only like those for the story. XP
If a girl says she's a gamer she needs to be hooked on at least one non-RPG game to say so. RPGs are games, but they are so easy most of the time that you don't really need gaming skills for them. She's even worse if her only RPGs are post-FFVII FFs. At least if Pokemon is in there maybe... XP

Keep bleeding love." Wow, RPG's are my favorite types of games, but I've played a ton of non-RPG games, and love a lot of them too. x3 I love old arcade games also. heart OOO, and DONKEY KONG! I am in L-O-V-E with those games! So fun. x3

I'm the fighter gamer girl. xd Prior to RPG's, I was so obsessed with games like Tekken, Soul Blade, Dead or Alive, etc... I loved my Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games too, lol! xd After that RPG's just took my life, haha.

I'm technically not relevant to the discussion (having a p***s and all), but aside from RPGs, I'm a Fighting, Platformer, Adventure, Tabletop, Card, Board, FPS/ FPA gamer. I'm forgetting something here, but basically, I game. I do it well. Hear me roar.

Impressive...that's a broad range. And I definitely don't doubt that you play well, haha! I consider myself to be a good gamer and compared to my siblings I'm the more strategic one and am able to find a lot more alternate ways to get my way. biggrin

What we are referring to is not a label for all Cleris fans, but a generalization of the ones who actually think Cleris is canon and are rabid about it. Not all, but most aren't gamers. I only refer to them as the manga crowd because they normally are obsessed with Japan, and obsessed with these hidden romances everywhere. Both of these obsessions are negative, because they are the kind of Japan obsessed people who think that all Japanese people are the same, and they butcher the language to suit their own claims. And the perticular type of manga we are referring to is the kind that's all about high school relationships and everybody loves someone else and everything's hidden and "who's going to go to the dance with who" crap. No fanbase is without their rabids. There are Cloti who are just plain jerks to people. At least their side has proof though... *shrugs*

And we call these people "Wapanese" for that very reason. It's scary when you go to Borders or some local bookstore with manga and see all these people just gathering around that section going, "OMG, Fruits Basket" or "VAMPIRE KNIGHT!!! OMG111."

But yeah, rabid romantic people like them just live in their world. Perhaps they want to fantasize about the perfect relationship since they are having a crappy one themselves or whatnot. *sarcasm*
