Horton Hears A Who!
...
This one really ticks me off. Horton hears a Who can only very loosely be a metaphor for abortion. If it didn't have the line "A Person is a Person, no matter how small" it's unlikely it would come up very often.
The book came out around the time of Brown v Board of Education. It's more likely Suess was making a parallel to segregation. Also, seeing as Suess's wife was pro-choice and vehemently against pro-lifers using the book for their agenda, it can be assumed Suess was either pro-choice as well or did not intend for the book to be about abortion.
... and Katie scared the crap out of me. I couldn't understand why she floated when she would breathe. I did think it was the best kids movie to come out in ages. Not to digress or anything.
As for bumper stickers, I only ever see the "Pro-Family, Pro-Women, Pro-Life" one around here. More common are "Support your troops", "W the President" or the local favorite College Football team.
