Shin listened to Natamo's instructions. Have the clone attack? Natamo wouldn't be able to see, but the Nara sure had a confused look on his face. The clone was a genjutsu... a regular bunshin. Could genjutsu really attack? Maybe she meant... Letting out a small sigh, Shin tried to think on what to do. Sometimes the boy's problem was thinking too much about a task that it made it more difficult that it seemed. Taking a deep breath, Shin finally nodded. He would attack with his clone. It wasn't able to attack itself, but it would be a good distraction to help his attack and confuse his opponent. But Natamo had her eyes covered. How was he to confuse her if she couldn't see the clone as a distraction. She was sure making him think!
A small chill ran up his spine, not from the cold that was slowly filtering in through the small holes inbetween the weaves of his jacket's threads. No, this chill was from the excitement of the attack to come. The shake and goosebumps was sudden like a kick start to his actions. He didn't waste a moment once he felt that hit of adrenaline in his body. The clone and the boy ran at the instructor, preparing for an attack.

"Ah...." Shin said, skidding in the snow, thinking about what he was doing. Here he and the clone were rushing at Natamo with fists pulled back ready to throw a punch. Was this really the way of the shinobi? A shinobi wouldn't run in so blindly. No, he would use stealth and smarts to make his attack as effective as possible. The Nara and the clone skidded to a halt, backing up away from Natamo before they launched their attack. 'Slow down...' Shin thought to himself. He hadn't felt this type of adrenaline in his body before. His senses were closed off and his thinking was disrupted. Things that Shin would normally pay attention to, such as the low moans coming from off in the distance where the practice dummies were, didn't even enter his mind.
'Think like a shinobi,' the boy told himself as he and his clone switched spots again. There were trees around and perhaps Shin could use them to his advantage. Those who were higher up usually had the advantage, like birds swooping down to snag a small mouse for dinner. Nodding, Shin jumped up to grab a tree branch and swung up for a better position above Natamo. His clone did the same on the same branch.

Natamo, because her senses were dulled, still felt footsteps on the ground - except she also felt Sorri's, who had recently appeared (unbeknownst to Natamo), and she turned towards the Ibazi, ready to receive the attack from the boy she thought was Shin. However, Sorri was a ways away from her and she completely failed to realize that Shin was coming from another direction all together...not to mention there was a shadow clone that she had to figure out. However, all of this flew over the animal tamer's head as she tried to anticipate the attack from an attacker who was no where near her ... Shin would have an open shot at the teacher, pretty much.

His tears came in lessened quantities and he took his attention away from his own temperamental problems and studied Natamo-sensei and that first year student. where had he seen hat kid? Sorri locked onto his face, and traced it back into memory, he was there...picking swamp orchids the day He stood against Kana. even the thought of that started to put a smile on his face, he had stood up to a genin. Natamo-sensei must have been helping this kid to master his jutsu, what was this, the clone jutsu. It had to be, but then again the clone had been able to attack Natamo-sensei wasn't it a genjutsu? Sorri continued to watch until he was disturbed by a uncoming figure, that turned out to be his father. The instant they met eyes Sorri looked to the ground, knowing he would be a fool, it was to late to wipe his eyes and clean his fist, so he just stayed there, on his knees. "Kamon told me you had been here..whats with the tears?" ".." "This isn't how we raised you...you've never just went out into tears when there was something you wanted and didn't get..You bring shame to the Ibazi name...but I more so worried about where you see yourself standing Sorri..it would mean nothing if I would just urn around and keep letting you fail. Thats what your mother keeps telling me. She says if I would just pick you up and push you...it would mean the world."Sorri lifted his head, hearing his father's foot steps in the snow he had even knell and looked at his son at eye level. Why was this happening? It was unusual. His father took Sorri's hand and picked the straws from the cuts. He wen into a poach and pulled out an ointment of crushed honey sickle and rubbed it across his hands. Then slashed of a piece of Sorri's hoddie with a pocket knife and wrapped it around his fingers. All to speed the healing process, they would be mere scars by the mourning. Sorri stood, still without words at his dad. He iped his eyes and "If you think a head band makes you a ninja...then you've got alot more watching others to be doing."

[Winter 3 Night]
Shin smiled, happy that his set up for the attack was going to work. The clone rushed down first, followed by Shin. The clone came down hollering at Natamo, while Shin remained silent, carefully moving off the snowy branch to come down on top of Natamo with a kick. His clone would be the distraction while he made the attack! The Nara smiled, hoping that he was doing this right. He was nervous and anxious, still unaware of the Ibazi's nearby. All he was doing was concentrating on his training, keeping all distractions out of his mind. 'I got it,' Shin thought to himself as he grew ever nearer to Natamo.

Natamo heard the loud yell and prepared herself - it was a messy raucous event! She prepared herself for a frontal attack...except she felt something behind her. Blindfolded she might be, but there was a warm entity coming behind her, and Natamo threw herself to the ground, rolling a few feet away and popping up, removing her blindfold and chuckling. "Good try - you have the basic idea down. Well done, Shinobu." Natamo ran her hands through her hair, and stretched. "Would you like to try again?"

Shin didn't feel to dispirited when his foot hit the soft snowy ground. He knew he was training with one of the strongest shinobi in the village and there was no chance that he would be able to hit her, blindfolded or not! His clone disappeared as she asked him to try again. Standing up from his crouched landing position, Shin turned and smiled at the woman. "Nah... I don't think I could ever land a hit on you, Nata-sensei," Shin admitted rubbing the back of his head as his eyes squinted from smiling. "I think I got the use of the technique down now though, don't you think?" the boy asked, hoping that she would give him an honest opinion.

Natamo chuckled and ran her hands through her hair. "You might land a hit on me if you catch me really drunk sometime, but I haven't had a serious drinking trip for a bit. But as for the technique - yeah, you pretty much got it. Work some more on your own sneaking around, but you got the idea down. Good job, kiddo," Natamo said, ruffling his hair and looking up at the sky. "Looks like we both outta get back and get some rest. More training to look forward to tomorrow, eh Shin?" Natamo stretched, rubbing her arms and shivering. With a smile, she headed towards the lagoon - her hammock was probably waiting for her, and she liked sleeping beneath the trees anyway.

Tanu's stomach was still turning left right and all around when she reached her destination. These were the training grounds that she really hadn't spent too much time at. It figured there was no one here since everyone in this village was a peace loving idiot... Not being able to get her stomach to calm, Tanu thought she'd try meditating. Her father and cousins had always done this to center their chakra and calm themselves during training. They had always said that it helps them focus on improving themselves to the fullest while the practiced their taijutsu and ninjutsu. Tanu had never tried it, because the thought of it seemed stupid... However, her run in with Shinichi was making her feel quite uneasy. The confident way in which he told her to try and beat two out of three of those kids made her confidence sway. Tanu had never really felt her confidence deteriorate before. That is why she would try this meditation for the first time. It would prove difficult since she'd never done it before and she was being given no direction while trying. She would just have to remember the words of her father and the other Kun Kumo instructors. Bending down at the knee, Tanu's dark brown clothed pants touched down on the cold frozen ground. The cold was comforting to her as she put most of her weight back on her feet as she sat down on her heels. She wasn't quite sure where to place her hands, so she just let them rest in her lap for now.

“See. Didn’ I tell you it would have been quicker. Indeed I did.” the boy said proudly with both hands placed behind his head. He walked in this manner just ahead of Shisei. Most others had gone around, but Brassa new a little shortcut through the lagoon. It was something he discovered with Sevvi, Mia, Lia and Fay. During a time the group decided on a game of who would stay out the longest during the night in the forest. Fay was the first to go in which Brassa had to chase and get the little bunny ear wearer back. No thanks to the other boy of the group. While trying to get her, the two eventually stumbled on a path that led them to the lagoon. The two didn’t go back into the forest that night. Freckles never did ask who won that game between the last three. It was something he would have to ask next time they meet up. “Hey Shisei-kun have you ever…” the boy’s quick paced mouth stopped as he turned to the smaller boy. The dread head and stopped in his tracks and stared out into the distance. As freckle face allowed his brown eyes to take the same course as Shisei’s he could see a small form in the distance. Probably about the same size as the snake. “Hmm. That one of your chums? You want to call the bugger over here?”. The maverick gave a declining response and turned away. Scratching his head, Brassa decided to look off into the distance to see who would be coming next.
The silent form followed his taller framed acquaintance as he led him to the training grounds. The boy was right. They actually did arrive first. With some time to spare. It would be a route the boy would need to memorize. Perhaps baby snake would need to follow the homeless youth more often. If he knew more of these secret paths then perhaps there would be ways to ditch the others and get some solo practicing. He’d be able to get back in time, before anyone would notice him missing. As his mind contemplated future actions, gold eyes came across a certain form. It was off in a distance and appeared to be sleeping on itself in some type sitting position. The atrociously bright green hair and pink clothing could have only been one person. The beginning of all Shisei’s troubles in Shima. He stared at the girl just wondering what malicious action to take. It would be Brassa to break the boy out of his spell. “No. That person is irrelevant.” the snake child replied to his question. That person may have made the event in the training grounds slightly more interesting.

“Hey. Shisei-kun. So what do you think about your competition? You’ve been staring at them all blimey day. For certain you have. Have you got a plan against them? You must have something in that noggin of yours brewing. Truly must.” Brassa asked allowing his body to fall backwards onto the grass. He placed his hands behind his head and looked up into the sky and then at the boy, who has now become inverted due to Brassa’s form.
Shisei watched silently at the boy’s antics. One of his kept just the corner of the imp in view. For now he’d wait until she did something. Since freckle face was asking a question that wasn’t stupid, he’d reply. “No. There is no plan.” the kid said truthfully. He had not thought of anything to neutralize the competition… as yet. For now he’d withhold on a sinister plot. Solely because of the crowd of people today. Well until there was a way to neutralize them also. Returning to the question the serpent youth continued. “Each of them are flawed. Karite seems to have spent a lot of his energy already between the dive and pearl gathering. He also seems to be a bludgeon for scars. The different activates should be enough to wear him out. Orika is very emotional. She gets herself riled up for useless reasons. It’d be easy to use that against her. Serena, Karite’s partner, is a little hard to decipher. She’s also an advanced student so it’s anyone’s guess. The major problem will be Maya. She’s the strongest in this competition so it will be tough to take her down. I’m counting more so on my partner to neutralize her. Well there is also one other thing that I did not take into account. Orika is Karite’s significant other, yet their team broke apart before even starting. That just might be useful information.”
Freckles listened as he stared at the upside down kid. It was impressive how much he picked up, by just watching them although, by the way he spoke it was as if he was preparing for enemies and not friends… “Hmm. You’re an ace Shisei-kun. Indeed you are. Brill even. Although I have to say, don’t underestimate them now. I’ve been here longer than ya and I’ve seen some of the most amazing things. Certainly have. And that’s no lie.” he stated picking up a blade of grass and flicking it between his fingers before heading onto another topic. “Wait. You mean sis is already taken? Didn’t know that. Positively did not. And by the boy with green hair put the ring on her finger. That’s new news to me. Hey you think Kane-kun is snogging with anyone at the moment? We should ask and put him on the spot. Yes that we should!” the youth said with a wily grin. The boy was wondering just how the blonde would answer. And if his answer would be a girl.

"Betrayed by his own heart, the beast he had spared took up its claws not in gratitude, but in revenge..." Xyn had somehow managed to wonder aimlessly away from the crowd that had filled the village center. He had thought for a while that he avoided everyone, and began reading from the Kohon to pass the time. He had meant to find Maya, since it seemed she wanted to talk to him about something, and then there was that snake-eyed boy... for some reason, Xyn could feel Munin shiver within the pocket of his cloak from just the boy's voice. It was definitely not wise for a raven to mingle with a snake, but still...
Not truly aware of anyone's presence, Xyn closed the book, simply to observe where he was. It seemed some people were coming to this area... but wasn't everyone at the lagoon? Why would anyone be here this time of morning, especially a day like this...

“Hmm. Ask Kane-sempai when he comes.” The snake said, not paying much attention to the question. His mind had gone on to something else. Someone else. The next person to be coming up the path of the training grounds was none other than the crow. Had he decided to show up now? Why wasn’t he around before? Also what did his entrance now mean? So many questions although a wicked idea began to enter Shisei’s mind. Yes. Take care of two birds with one stone. Xyn and Tanu…. If Shisei was not so emotionless he might have actually smiled.

Keeping up his stretch all the while, Kane followed Shisei and Brassa through the shortcut that the village kid (well, technically they were all village kids... and adolescents) had shown them, Kane finally reached the training grounds. He never really spent much time here, preferring to train in the Shoreline, and maybe now the Lagoon now that he'd fully experienced just how beautiful it was firsthand. Wow, at the rate this was going maybe he'd experience some profound things in this place which would cement it as another potential training spot.
20 seconds for his left tricep, and now he would begin his bicep stretches. Although the muscles were basically in the same place and used in conjunction their respective stretches were incredibly different. While the tricep stretch required Kane to plaster his arms to his back, to stretch his biceps he needed to extend them out. Deciding to stretch his right bicep first, Kane moved his right arm back, with his wrist hinged at a 90 degree angle to his arm. Although he didn't have anything to push against just holding the position would be fine.
"Hey Shisei-kun," Kane said after that, feeling a little awkward at the silence they had shared so far. "We really took a really good shortcut, didn't we? Thanks for showing it to us, Brassa." He noticed Xyn, although he didn't know his name (he recognised him as 'that boy who ran with Maya' - ran being taken figuratively here) and gave him a small smile and nod as a greeting. Man, he should really learn names. Turning around to the opposite side of the grounds he noticed a small girl with bright green hair meditating. Kane immediately recognised her as a Kun'Kumo... in fact, the newest one to join the village. He didn't know her name though. This trend was really quite alarming and had to stop now.
"Shisei-kun..." Kane mused. "Do you know that girl? She's an academy student, right?"

He arrived at the little used training grounds a little slower than his normally rapid fire pace. The first thing that Shinichi noticed was that Tanu had fallen asleep which training in the area. The sight of the girl sent fire through his veins and the Kage rudely knocked her on the head to wake the girl up. "I haven't forgotten about the way you left me last night," he growled, but then softened his expression after remembering that today was a holiday, "But I'll deal with you later. For now, come join the festival." Without another thought to the girl and leaving her alone in case she wanted to sleep some more, Shinichi made his way back to the slowly gathering group. "Nice of you to finally join us, Xyn," Shinichi remarked, wondering if the boy had just woken up. He didn't want to play on stereotypes, but the kid seemed like a night person from his dark appearance. Maybe he should think about training the genin in stealth since he would blend into the night like a leaf bug in... leaves. Shinichi shook his hands of the bad simile and waved for everyone present to follow him to where a handful of soccer goal were set up.
He waited until everyone was present, then began, "Now this next event will test your mind as well as your body. You guys probably too young to realize, but the fisherman put on a huge soccer game once every year. Eh... Catfish versus Lobsters or something. It's a fishy event. Anyway, they manage to tie nearly every year, which is decided by a final shoot out, consequently the very brief part of the game everyone watches soccer for." He wasn't a fan of soccer, but Ichi usually persuaded him to referee every year because of his eagle eyes. "So grab a ball and pick a goal post. I'll explain the rules for those of you who have never heard of the game. One person stands behind that line there and kicks the ball into the goalpost. The other person dives for the ball, assuming the first person actually kicks it hard enough. If the ball goes into the net, then the first person gets a point. You'd then switch places. That's the physical part of it, at least. The kicker almost always plays mind games with the goalie so I want you guys to try tricking your opponent into thinking you'll kick the opposite way. Got it? Good, get started. I want you to use different partners for this event to mix things up.." Shinichi sat down on a stump and motioned for the to get going.
