Its not like shes gone Sorri...You think she would want you doing this? Want you just sitting here, quiting? Because thats what your doing!...I won't have it...I'm done try so hard with you, its not worth the effort if this is the result...
His father's words still played on...Sorri sat looking out at the village, the ocean, and then at the raising sun which had a constant dull caused by the cloud of winter...he didn't even know there was a name for seasonal periods before his movement to Shima years back, only a change between cold, and colder. That was his reason for even being in the area, not the drop in temperature, but the meaning behind it, the day of his coming, a day he wasn't meant to be lonely on, and thinking ahead thats was a foretelling. His cousins, Nyx, everyone he know as a friend was gone, away....dead. He felt sorrow and wasn't looking to feel better, he stopped going to school even.
He wasn't allowed in the Forest Of Sorrows alone, no one under the rank of Chunin was, but it was somewhere he could feel alone.

"Does it matter...what is the use of becoming a ninja for shima, when there is no one here for me to protect. Its useless no matter what outlook I try."
Deep breaths and staring at the ocean did calm him, alone with his tough, but the pain coming from inside didn't stop. Ero and his family became a thought, he had wronged and disappointed his father, and his mom must have been worried sick by now
"The may have even contact the school, the teachers that I was missing. Natamo, Shuga, Yuki, Jintachi. Yuki-sensai.. she made this forest from, a swamped and the sadness and sorrow of the village and feel likes I'm inside it all. Xyn would probably be sad too, he has no one to trick"
Well at least that caused a chuckle and then a sniffle before he sighed and nodded his head at the idea that it would be better to go back and try then be found and forced.

In a quick plan to make his way to the ground of the forest, Sorri attempted to tumble trough the branches. It may have been a foolproof plan if Sorri was wearing no clothes and was entirely made of steel. Being tough that he is not, the academy student suffer many minor scratches and became twisted. torn clothes and agrivated by this bad beginning to the day Sorri gave an annoyed yelp before grabbing his kunia an slashing himself free. As he fell free from the tree, the boy's eyes got wide all he could do was hold out his free hand and hope. He was lucky enough for that to work. He let go of the thick branch and crouched into his landing and sighed as stood. Stinging all over Sorri started on his way back to the village {Exit To Academy }

Maya and Baki crept into the forest, and knowing quite well that it was Baki's turn to do his share of the hunting and skinning process, she sent him off and sat under a tree, sheltered by its thick gnarled roots. The cold was beginning to seep into her skin, and she didn't like it at all. Winter was, above all, the season she hated most, and with a defiant glare, she sat and waited, listening for Baki's tell-tale triumphant roar.
Baki, growling softly, lowered his massive head and began to trot through the forest, trying to pick the the scent of the first creature at least somewhat close to him in size. It would be hard, since Baki himself was of mammoth proportions - compared to lions who weren't fed every day and spoiled rotten, Baki was a monster. He was also tawny in color, a sharp contrast to the darkness in the forest. With a snort, he picked up the scent of what was a small bird and her nestlings, hiding in a hold in the ground that still gave off a little warmth because of the dirt packed around it. Golden eyes curious, Baki stuck his nose closer, only to be pecked by a restless momma bird. Sneezing and backing up, Baki made a note to himself: don't mess with underground birds.

Baki found a spot where the brush overhead was heavy. The darkness underneath would help hide his tawny coat, and perhaps hiding out would help as well. Soon he caught the scent, not of a deer, but instead of another feline. Small, with felt tipped ears and heavy paws like his, Baki watched as a lynx stalked past him slowly, likely in pursuit of a vole or other small rodent. Baki focused, crouching close to the ground in order to better approach this mid-sized cat. Though it was only early winter, the lynx already had a thick coat that Baki was sure would please Maya, in regards to making a fur for her tent. With renewed vigor, Baki waited.

Baki slunk forward with more grace than a beast his size should have ever had. He quieted the rumble in his throat, golden eyes almost flashing as he crept closer and closer to the lynx. The other feline seemed totally oblivious to the massive beast approaching it from the side, but perhaps the shadows that flicked across the forest ground helped Baki stay partially hidden, and undetectable to the lesser cat. Baki was greatly pleased that he had not lost his ability to stalk his prey, and continued getting closer and closer to the target until he was only two feet away, downwind and completely out of side to the lynx. Perhaps the lynx was deaf, or blind - either way, it was history.

Baki let out a harsh snarl and lunged at the lynx, grabbing the furry beast by the nape of its neck and jerking his head sharply, his heavy paws placed on the lynx's back and forcing the smaller cat down. By normal standards, the lynx was actually a decent sized predator - it stood about two and a half feet at the shoulder, and was maybe three or four feet long. With its heavy fur coat, it was a lot harder to get a grip on the bulky little body, but Baki managed anyhow. With a jerk, he shook himself and got ready to snap the lynx's neck and carry the first kill back to Maya, where she sat in the roots of the thick tree.

With a harsh crunch, the lynx went limp beneath Baki's jaws and, with great finesse and grace, the massive lion carried the cat back to Maya, excessively satisfied that only the dead thing's hind legs dragged on the ground. Baki was a lot bigger than he thought! With a growl, he dropped it at Maya's feet, rubbing his nose against her cheek and waiting. She kissed his nose and tugged his ears, and began to work on skinning the lynx. With her dismissive gesture, Baki pricked his ears up. She wanted him to get something more? Probably a deer or something, since the lynx's meat, while it could be eaten, was tough, and probably not as tasty as deer meat. Baki rumbled, his own lion-laughter surprising him. He'd have eaten the lynx, only because it was meat. But Maya would make it useful, cutting it into small pieces that Mai could use for stew. Lynx meat was rich in protein, so it would be useful for others who weren't already sinewy and strong. Baki sat for a few minutes, letting the adrenaline flow, and lifted his nose into the air slightly.

Karite entered the forest with Kore by his side. If anyone had seen the two before they surely would have mistaken them for a pair of Tategami clansmen. They were always together now even in school. It had gotten him in trouble once but he didnt care. Kore was his friend now more then anyone on the island. It would be hard to let the little guy go when he saw Maya. As Karite noticed the forest it seemed much scarier then last time. Maybe that because he wasnt carrying a giant axe and he was suppose to be in here. Karite looked around he saw no one which was bad, but he needed to get some wood so when Maya got back she wouldn't be to cold. "Alright Kore, we are going to be looking for wood, so don't get to far away. We need to get in and out as soon as possible so Maya and Baki don't beat us home." Karite didn't realize Kore was already gone looking for Baki, which was a bad idea in the forest of sorrows. Karite did his own thing and let Kore do his. If anything happened Karite had his Jo, he would make sure to handle it well.

Baki relaxed for a moment more before stalking off into the darkness of the forest of sorrows. A soft scent in the air made him aware of the fact that there was another lion in the forest - one of the cubs. However, Baki was more focused on trying to find his next kill. His goal was to bring down at least a deer and a stag, and anything else would just be a bonus. The white-tailed deer in the forest were one of his favorite meals, and even in jerky the meat was deliciously flavorful. Licking his muzzle, Baki turned his head every which way, looking for the giant hunk of dinner he was dying to bring home.

Karite was a little creeped out by these woods. As dangerous and strange as the entire island was, this was the only place that students weren't allowed. That could only mean that what ever was in these woods was tougher then anything on the island. So why was Maya in here? Karite thought to himself before smiling again. Maya was the toughest person he had meet on this island who wasn't a full grown adult. She and Baki could take on anyone. Someday Karite would be like that, but for now he would have to worry about getting the fire wood. Maya would be cold when she got back to the grounds and he wanted to make sure the fire was keep going strong. As he walked through the damp forest he did not like the feel of the snow underneath his bare feet. He would need some shoes and now that Maya was back he could get them. Continuing in deeper he soon cam across a rather fair sized piece of wood. It was damp but could be dried out. Grabbing it with his free hand he began to walk using his Jo as leverage to move through the terrain. He wondered why they called this place the forest of sorrows.

Kore was off on his own mission to find his leader and idle. Baki was the only lion he had to look up to considering his sister was a no good lounge about. It could be said she was the laziest thing on four legs but that would be wrong. She was still family although she never really did much of anything. trotting along Kore kept his nose focused and his black paws on steady ground. While he was young and still quite nimble for a lion he had to make sure nothing got the best of him in this place. Karite wasn't standing next to him and if something big and fast got to him then there was no help. If he were more like Baki, every creature would think twice before messing with him. But to equal up to Baki's massive size would take many more years and much more hunting. Getting a scent from Baki Kore purred ever so slightly in his throat. he would be happy to see Baki again. Then he would show him how much he took care of Karite, just like Maya and him do. As he walked deeper into the forest Baki was not the only scent. It was familiar, it was prey. If that was true then Baki was hunting and Kore could be mistaken for something else. Not a good thing in this case, but the young cub had one thing on its mind and that was finding his leader.

Baki pricked his ears, sniffing and turning his massive head around, a slight catty grin on his face as he spotted Kore. Well, he wasn't dinner, but it was kind of nice to see the little cub around. Jhuga wasn't the most sociable beast on Tategami grounds, and Resa had been gone for a while now, so another lion was interesting to have around. His concentration, however, had been pulled from the deer he was searching for, so Baki promptly sat and began to bat Kore's ears with his oversized paws. Chortling his lion-laugh, Baki seemed greatly amused with himself as he played with the cub's furry appendages.

Apparently, though, Baki wasn't as distracted as he'd thought. After a moment, he pricked his ears towards a part of the forest where the light filtered in at a greater interval, and spotted a large buck. At least ten-points, the beast was huge! And Baki, of course, wasted no time in crouching low and making sure he made Kore aware that he had to do the same, or scare off their prey. Of course, Baki's size alone made it hard to do anything at all, hunting in the darkness when he was better suited to hunting in the open prairie. Alas, Baki kept himself low to the ground and watched - the deer hadn't yet seen him, so he was fairly confident about being able to bring this one down. Besides, he had the buck's scent in his nose - he'd be able to track it if he absolutely had to.

Baki crept closer to the buck, licking his muzzle eagerly. Maya didn't much care for buck-meat, but she'd eat it - the tough meat on the male of the species had, oddly, become a favorite of Baki's. Tearing it from the bone worked his jaw muscles heavily, which in turn made it instinct to simply tear at anything he got his jaws on, more specifically, any enemies. Maya, of course, was the sole absolute exception, as well a few others that were moderately immune to this way of thinking. The raven-boy, for example - however, Maya had grown more and more wary of most everyone around her. The habit she'd fallen into, secluding herself...Baki almost growled as he continued to pace forward. No one around her had helped - the Uchiha-leader and the Orochi that she called 'brother' were gone now, and the only sign of anything familiar they'd seen was Shinichi - and that wasn't the most welcoming sign, since the man never liked animals anyway. Besides that, and Baki spotting Kore now, they'd been alone since their arrival. Sure, Maya had thrown in some dried meat for Ruha, but actually interacting with anyone..? Baki shook his head. The girl needed contact...much as he'd like to keep her to himself. He protected her better that way.
