Maya grunted. Maybe Kore had been helping with his weight on her lap...? Walking around, Maya felt more hindered than before, and her chakra was wasting without her even wanting it to. She sighed, and leaned against the old, almost dead tree several feet from the campfire that would, hopefully, be burning soon. She was starting to get hungrier...and it would be time to leave very soon. She hadn't even talked to Shuga about her parents...but was that even important anymore? Maya wanted to tell herself that she didn't care, but by the gods, she did care. The thought made her cringe, and small sparks of her chakra rolled out of her fingertips. She winced - chakra was definitely the most evil and useless thing known to shinobi. She wished she were stronger, faster - she would love to simply beat the bloody pulp out of anyone who wanted to mess with her. And so she would...she just had to train to do that.

Maya took a deep breath and pushed against the tree - maybe it wanted chakra? She concentrated, and tried to channel her chakra into one of the old branches, wondering if it would work if the tree was...well, old and almost dead. Kind of like giving an old person a chakra boost, she supposed. Was that possible? She giggled at the thought, and realized that it was working. Maybe it wouldn't have any effects, but Maya smiled anyway. Chakra burning was starting to get a tad easier, even if she did mess up half the time. It didn't drain as much of her chakra as it used to, which meant she could conserve more of it for successful burns - which meant she would be able to, eventually, control her chakra much better than she could now, which THEN meant that she could master more than one or two of the Tategami clan jutsu! Maya's excitement grew, and she let out a satisfied grunt.

Maya pulled back from the tree, and smiled to herself. Better...soon she'd be good enough to tolerate attacks from even Aya...though she was pretty sure that Aya wouldn't be able to dodge any of Maya's punches without using ninjutsu to back her up. The thought made Maya feel a little smug, though she knew she would never be able to counter Aya's chakra-based attacks with her own ninjutsu. That was too much to hope for. She chuckled and tugged her hair, absently burning off more chakra. Damn...that had been wasteful. She sighed and looked at her hands, biting her lip. She was almost done...she'd done it right a few times, just once more and she'd take a break. Maybe later she would train again, or on the way to the shoreline or wherever they were going afterwards, but even so...

Maya winced, and turned her back on the decrepit old tree. Thoughts...what thoughts? She had to train her chakra, and that was all she needed to be thinking about. She pushed her hands together - she'd do the last one with the tiger seal if it killed her, only because her stubbornness would not allow her to finish her training with the snake seal. Maya's excessive pride was beginning to cloud her judgment, and that would not bode well for her training. Chakra...still, it was definitely pretty useless to her. Would she ever be able to use chakra to make her stronger physically? Probably not - strength was a physical property that resulted from hard work and constant physical training. But then...were the legendary Eight Gates something that required chakra? Maya had a small moment of hesitation and released her hands, letting them hang at her sides. Would she ever be able to master those? Maya had heard once that opening the eighth gate gave the user power beyond their imagination...but at a very high cost.

The small sparks that burned her fingertips made Maya's growls audible. The last gate...would Shuga ever teach her all eight..? Would she ever use even one? Did she have to know them to be a taijutsu master? She snorted - of course she did. Otherwise she wouldn't be able to pass on the knowledge to anyone else, and what kind of master would she be then? Maya snorted, and pressed her fingers to her temple. She had to learn everything. Every single taijutsu technique out there, she had to learn them and master them. She would be the greatest, and Baki would be at her side, and nobody would ever dare to challenge them. People would cower in fear of the Tategami, and countries would never rage war against Shimagakure, for fear the wrath of the lion clan. A slow smile crept across Maya's lips, and she gave a small, barely noticeable nod. Yeah...that was it. The world would fear the Tategami, and praise their mastery of taijutsu. She would follow Shuga's footsteps and become fearless and strong and beautiful - a true Tategami woman.

Maya laughed as she plopped down on the ground, her chakra almost out of control as it kept seeping out. She felt a little tired, but who would care? She looked up at the sky. To be a true shinobi, a real warrior, and protect Shimagakure...that was the greatest dream ever, and she'd accomplish it! The Tategami would be great! Ok, so maybe the Tenmoki clan was already awesome because of their medical mumbo jumbo, but Maya didn't understand half the stuff Yuki-sensei said. The Tategami name would be strong, and known all over, and it would be because of something very simple. Kicking butt and taking names, and completing the mission no matter what, partner at side. Maya smiled, looking over at Baki. She'd never get anywhere without Baki...he was her best friend in every and anything, and she didn't know what she'd do if Shuga had never decided to let her raise the cub.

Maya began to daydream, feeling sleepier as more of her chakra burned off. Wasteful...she'd be the greatest ever. Even Kana would have to admit it - though Kana had stopped being so condescending towards her lately. Maybe Aya was finally teaching the boy something useful...or maybe Kana finally realized that she had done no harm to Baki, so his accusations were useless and based on his silly boy imagination. She frowned at that thought, and tugged her hair. But...she hadn't ever been mean to someone out of imagination. That was weird...Maya sighed and yawned, inhaling deeply and trying to clear her mind. She had to focus, otherwise she'd never learn the technique on time. And damn...she had to get going soon. Otherwise, she would be late and Ichi would be angry...and that wasn't something she needed at all at this point.

Maya hissed softly - she had let herself fall back, and her head had hit something hard on the ground. A small stone showed itself as the evildoer, and she scowled, picking it up and chucking it away from her. So much for her daydream...she couldn't even get her chakra to do what she wanted it to do. She was as bad as this as she had ever been, and even being patient and optimistic was starting to wear her thin. She sighed, rubbing her hands over her face and trying to think of what she could do to possible finish this. She knew she had very little chakra left - maybe two more tries, and she'd be done for. And she only needed one more successful burn...just one, and she'd be done with her training. Was it really that much to ask of the gods? She lifted her eyes and pleaded silently, though some part of her knew she was just being silly and that she would have to train harder just to finish, if she finished at all.

Just...once.
Maya took a deep breath, her hands forming the seal of the tiger. With a small burst, she focused her energy correctly, her chakra doing exactly what she wanted to do - release her chakra in the exact amount she wanted. Lo and behold, the tora pulled through for her! Maya let out a yelp of delight, throwing her fists in the air and dancing around. She shrieked and danced, and anyone that would have seen her would have deemed her insane. She laughed, though, and ran over to Baki, tackling his sleeping form and earning a confused and agitated yowl from the massive beast. With nothing more than a grin on her face, she tugged on his ears and kissed his wet nose, laughing wildly as she pulled Kore from his mane and plopped the cub down next to his sister in Shuga's tent. Pulling on Baki's mane, she ran towards the shoreline. It was time to go, and she would leave that much stronger.

Karite must have gotten ahead of Shuga as he arrived at the grounds only to see nothing but tents and grass. It was not a surprise to him at all though. Maya and Baki were harder to find then live fish in a shushi bar. Not worrying about it where they were or when they'd be back Karite walked past the tents casting a shadow over them and walked to a near tree. Closing his silver eyes he pursed his already cracking lips from todays training and began to whistle a sweet, but sharp lullaby. It was something his mother use to hum to him when he was very young and could not sleep. As bad as his body hurt he felt it was more then the right time for him to sing such a tune. He didn't know what the jungle lady would have in store for him and who knew what his teacher would have in store for him tomorrow. Not to mention the crazed Kun Kumo girl.Tanu. She would get the full force of his plan tomorrow.
Kore was sleeping peacefully not bothered by Maya at all. He laid on his side next to Ruha. He was at peace and it could be seen as his rips expanded with every little breath his young fragile body took, but something woke him from his slumber. Rising up slowly he surveyed the tent he was in and listened to the silent humming of his sisters lungs, but something seemed to stand out more then that. It was a beautiful high pitched tone. rolling onto his paws Kore stood slowly not in a cautious manner but one out of curiosity. walking slowly to the opening of the tent Kore poked his head out and noticed a boy was causing the sound. Cocking his head to the side he began to step out. Seating out the side the opening for a second he just watched. He had never heard one of the two leggers make such a sound. Finding it safe he began to step forward much he would do when he was hunting. Slowly creeping forward a shoulder blade popping through his skin and his lead to the ground letting the grass tickle his chin. He was close enough to be easily seen and heard by the boy and sat simply at his feet.
Karite stopped whistling for a second and opened his eyes. Casting his gaze down on a little fur ball. At first he was confused on where it had come from and why it was there. The little cub looked a little like Baki meaning he must of been a male, but his fur had dark patches on it. He was kinda cute, but had he been drawn here simply by the sound of Karites song? running his hands slowly through his dark green hair as not to scare the little guy Karite began to speak. "Hey there little guy. Are you one of Maya or the jungle ladies lion's?" He asked in a clam high pitched tone. He didn't know if the lion would understand but he didn't mind trying to talk to the little guy.

Kore titled his head as the boy stopped whistling. he was a little skeptical as the boys rough hands ran through his very neat and well kept green hair. As they boy looked at hims with his silver eyes Kore did not know what to expect. His paws began to studdered on the ground in excitement and preparing his body to run just encase this two legger was not like Maya or the big breasted woman. The boy did something unexpected from his pale chapped lips spoke words, but at first he cocked his head to the side trying to understand the boy. "Are you one of Maya and the jungle ladies lion's?" He must have been talking about the large woman he hunted with. He was but how would the boy understand him. It seemed he was not like Maya and Shuga and picked up on things about lions instantly. he was far to clean and not as willing to get dirty as they were. He wore things covering his feet as well. He was much more different then they wore.

Kore slowly shifted his tail thinking of how to reply to the boys statement. It would not be as easy as wrestling with Baki. Yet remembering such an event gave him an idea. If he stamped his paw on the ground maybe the boy would understand this was his home and that that the people he spoke of where his care takers. Rising one of his paws slightly he began tapping it on the ground. He did not know if the boy would simply understand such a gesture. he did not seem to be as knowing of animals as Maya or Shuga did. Baki would have been better at this then he was. He was well in tuned with Maya. Kore had barely been alive long enough to walk let alone communicate with humans.

Karite didn't know if the little guy understood him. It seemed as if he had cocked his head in confusion but looking into his gold eyes he could sense that the little guy had understood him perfectly. As the little cub began to stamp his paw on the ground it was hard to understand for a second but then it was obvious. He was trying to say this was his home. while it took Karite took a minute to understand him, but it seemed that they were on the same wavelength. How long would that last was a different question all in his own. Crossing his legs he looked down on the little guy. He wondered what brought him out here in the first place. Looking around nothing out her could have possibly stirred him but his song

Karite wondered why the little guy had come out to see him. everything was quite when he had gotten here"Did you come to listen to my song? It was something my mother taught me did you like it?" Karite felt a little silly talking to a lion but he liked it. He was the first person to sit down and listen to him. Although the little guy was probably really tired. From what he remembered back home baby animals tended to sleep a lot. While he waited fro an answer Karite made sure to note the black markings in the cubs fur. he was special. Something about the little guy made him feel comfortable kind of like he was safe. It reminded him of home a little bit which was very soothing and it made all things that happened to day a lot better.
