"You're an interesting little one, that's for sure," he said, shaking his head and starting to stand. "But it's time for me to be going. I have a lot of homework I need to do tonight."
She was a tiny bit unnerving, actually. He figured it would be easier to deal with it when she was older. Which was probably why everyone treated her like a baby to begin with.

"Aw," she said. "Okay." Lizzy got up too. "Do you mind if I gotta ask one more question, Antony?" She folded her hands cutely before her, and smiled up at him again.

"Alright," he said. "But only one more question." Then he stood there, waiting patiently for her to ask. If it was something about all his hair being blue he wasn't about to tell the truth.
Then he groaned inwardly. Being a teenager made you think the stupidest things.

She thought for a minute. "I forgot," she said sadly. "I know! I'll write it down and ask next time I see you. Okay?" It had had something to do with hats, she knew it! But exactly what it was slipped her mind.

"You do that," he said, patting her on the head as he headed out the door. "Bye, Elizabeth," he added. Then he was gone, wondering yet again what they sprayed the cabbages with to get such strange children.
