"You... Ate my mouse?" He almost pouted as he looked up to her. There was no way to guarantee that the mouse she'd caught was actually his, of course. They were easy enough to find and they all seemed to look alike for one reason or another. He was glad that lions were different than mice; much easier to tell apart. "Well... I hope it tasted good."

"I ate the mouse that ran over my foot ... if it was yours why didn't you eat it?" He said he didn't have friends to share with so she didn't know why he would have given it to someone else instead.
"It was good. Not really filling though." It wasn't one of the bigger mice that was actually a good meal.

"Because it got away." He said simply as if that was the only reason why he wouldn't have eaten it. Of course, that wasn't completely true. He would have brought it back to his mother had he been able to catch it and keep it from squirming and squeaking long enough to carry it back.
"Mice are just snacks... Not real food."

"If you get the really big ones they're food." At least they were food for a bit. She'd lived off the mice for a while until she'd gotten bigger and then met Kef. Now they had to hunt down bigger things, and lots of bigger things, since there were more to feed.

"I have a hard enough time keeping hold of the smaller ones." His nose wrinkled as he glanced down at the ground. "I guess... I should be practicing more. S'what I was doing today; practicing so that Mama'd be proud of me an' like me more."

"Practicing is fun!" She loved to practice to hunt. She'd gotten so much better now that she had to do it more often. Feeding everyone was a chore sometimes but they always looked so happy when she brought back a lot of food for them or just told them where a lot of food was.

"It can be... I think I'm getting better." He'd at least stepped up from pouncing tails and moved on to pouncing mice and beetles... Although mice were much more rewarding. Beetles were just icky.

"It's more fun with friends though." She nodded. "Everyone can work together and you can get bigger things that way!" Maybe if he wanted they could help teach him. They could always use another hand when trying to hunt even if he wasn't very good at it.

"Maybe... You could help me then... Since you're good enough to catch an keep a mouse." He smirked, pushing himself back up onto all fours. "I should go back to my Mama before she starts to worry... But I'll come back when I can... And then you can teach me?"

She got up and hopped around for a moment before turning back toward where she knew everyone else would be. "Okay! Just make sure to come back. I'll be mad if you don't"
She'd like teaching someone else how to hunt. It was so much fun to do.

"Promise!" He smiled as he turned away from her, glancing back over his shoulder. He watched her for a moment longer before taking off through the tall grasses, making his way quickly back in the direction that he'd originally wandered from. He hoped Mama wasn't worrying.
