Kilik's eyes widened and he let out a yelp of sorts, quickly grabbing the Great Ball to recall Lairon. The beam of light had engulfed the Iron Pokemon a split second after the Flamethrower had made contact. The damage was minimal, but he'd still need healing later. Kilik knew that Flygon would probably be able to shrug the fireball from Mike quite easily. I wasn't aware Mike's gloves were that strong, he thought. "Mike! Chill out!" he held up his hands after clipping the Great Ball back to his belt, "There's no Aqua Grunts!"

Bahamut squeaked when the attack hit her and jumped back a bit, flaring out her wings. She stared at the trainer then down at Mike's hands, tilting her head in a very confused and cute manner. How'd he do that? Were humans normally capable of such power? Why hadn't Kilik done something that neat?

"Sorry about that," Kilik scratched the back of his head, "Portabello said I should wake you and...well, we all thought it was funny." He laughed heartily, slipping his hands into his pockets.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 26, 2008 6:59 pm

"Huh?" Mike whipped back his hand, the flame dispersing and flickering out of life. He blinked, shaking his head as the clarity returned to his vision. He recognized that voice. "Oh, hey Kilik!" He called out, suddenly feeling rather silly. "Don't scare me like that." Although, it's not like he would know Mike's past relations with Team Aqua anyway, it's not like he ever told anyone. "I see you got a Flygon, that was certainly fast. And I don't see any Go Goggles on you, so you must have gotten it in a trade, Vibrava are near impossible to snag in the wild in these parts." Mike always liked Flygon, they were cute, but at the same time had an aura of real power to them. Before he had a chance to forget, he recalled his Pokemon, knowing none of them would particularly want to traverse the torrential downpour ahead of them. "I was heading to Lilycove for some shopping, care to join me?"

"Home sweet Hoenn," Keegan sighed as he stepped off of the train and onto the platform to join Kasiya. "It's been a long time since I've been in Slateport... it's good to be back." He could see posters plastered nearly everywhere advertising the Beach Party, although he didn't see anything on Professor Rowan's seminar. Maybe it's more of a word-of-mouth promotion, he thought as for once he started to lead the way after gaining his bearings. "Let's head to Mauville first," he said, looking to his travel companion. "Getting back will be a lot easier if we both have our bikes in working order."

Just north of the station was the infamous Slateport Bazaar, where various merchants and their semi-permanent stalls were waiting with lots of goods to sell. Keegan eyed one stall in particular, where several rows of gleaming TM discs caught his eye. During the train ride, he'd thought about switching Moeder into his party for a while in order to get to know the mighty Kangaskhan, and he was thinking that a few good TMs wouldn't be lost on her. "Wanna go check out the bazaar?" he asked, looking at Kasiya as they neared the rows and rows of stalls.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 9:20 am

"Yeah, sure! That sounds great," Kasiya nodded. She didn't have much money herself, but she could see by the twinkle in Keegan's eye that he was intent on checking out the TM table and she didn't want to disappoint him. "Maybe now is a good time to stock up on healing items," she added, prodding him gently in the side. Sure, she could see the bazaar from where she was, but she was more content to let Keegan lead the way.

"I don't think there are any TMs I really want or need right now," she said idly, picking up a reddish disc that contained Sunny Day once they'd gotten there. "I have to work a bit more with my current Pokemon to figure out what they might need to round out their moves." She reached into her pocket and took out her PokeDex. "Here, use this to see what Pokemon are compatible with some of those TMs," she said, handing the slender red device to Keegan. "Just select the Pokemon here and press this button to choose a move. Use this arrow key to cycle through them," she said, pointing to the proper buttons as she spoke. "I'm going to go check out the Potion table." She gave Keegan's hand a final squeeze before she ventured off to look around on her own. As much as she loved having Keegan by her side, sometimes a little time to herself was needed.

"Wow, thanks, Kasi," Keegan said, taking the PokeDex and looking at it. She's actually trusting me with this? he thought, watching her wander between the stalls and avoiding other shoppers. Wow. He flipped it open and had a quick look, making mental notes to himself as he studied each of his Pokemon in turn. Themis can learn Flamethrower?! he thought excitedly, quickly grabbing the flame-red disc and holding it up. In the end, he'd also picked up a TM for Iron Tail and Brick Break, both for Moeder the Kangaskhan. As much as he wanted to continue working with his young Ponyta, he figured it best to have a stronger Pokemon with him for the next few days. Kasiya's bad feeling about the seminar seemed to be contagious, even though he was looking forward to hearing what the Professor had to say he wanted to be prepared as best he could.

He brought the three discs to the cashier and paid for them, but came to a terrible discovery as he went to put the change away - those three discs had left him with a measly $50, not enough to buy pretty much anything. "Uh oh..." he murmured, peering deeply into his empty wallet as though a magical portal would open and reveal a wellspring of money, but there was no such luck. He was offically broke.

"Oh well," he murmured, pocketing his hollow wallet as he left the bazaar and leaned against a tall lamp post, waiting for Kasiya. He put the two TMs for Moeder in his backpack, and let Themis out of his Pokeball. The Manectric looked around eagerly upon his release, the area seeming quite familiar to him. "It wasn't far from here where we first met," Keegan told the Pokemon fondly as he applied the TM and taught his favourite move to the electric type. "We've come a long way since then, haven't we?"

Looking up at the Aipom on her shoulder Robin smiled at him and picking him up she put Luffy on the ground. "If you see anything that looks interesting Luffy don't be afraid to go after it." She said knowing that Luffy would do just that anyway.

The small Aipom just nodded in affirmation before grinning a wide grin and scampering off. He had no idea what he was looking for, he would know it when he found it though. He decided to stay away from the majority of all the other trainers. He cast a small glance at the small pool in the center before dashing off into the long tall grass.

Behind Luffy Robin walked along happily enjoying the sunlight of the beautiful day. She had a feeling that today would be a good one, it had been so far anyway. Waiting on the outside of the grass, it was really tall and she was afraid she would step on a Weedle or something. It wasn't to hard to keep track of Luffy though, even though the grass was much taller then him it was easy to see his hand like tail sticking up as he dashed all around. Hearing a loud squeal Robin watched as Luffy's tail seemed to stop before it swung forward and whacked something hard. That something came flying over to where Robin was landing a few feet away from her.

It was small, purple and furry. With big eyes and small antenna on it Robin could easily see that it was a Venonat. Smiling at Luffy's discovery Robin reached into her bag and pulled out her pokedex and pointed it at the small bug just as Luffy dashed out of the tall grass.

Venonat the insect pokemon. Height 3'3". Weight 66.1 pounds. Ability Compound eyes. Venonat is said to have evolved with a coat of thin, stiff hair that covers its entire body for protection. It possesses large eyes that never fail to spot even the most minuscule prey.

"A Venonat huh Luffy?" Robin asked, she wasn't quite sure at the small monkeys logic. Sure he was impulsive but he usually saw something he liked doing something cool before he decided. Maybe he liked the Venonat's large eyes? "Well if that is what you want the lets weaken it first. Use your Astonish attack!" She exclaimed feeling excitement rush through her body.

However instead of listening to her Luffy just gave her a strange look before tugging Hat down slightly.

Blinking in confusion she looked down at the trembling Venonat. It didn't look like it wanted to do any battling. In fact the small insect looked terrified of both of them. Immediately the excitement from before drained out of her body. "Oh. You poor thing. You don't even want to be here do you?" She asked bending down to be closer to the purple insect.

The small Venonat looked up at her for a moment before nodding.

Feeling bad Robin bent down and picked the young Venonat up and brought it over to the fence that would lead out of the National Park. Setting it down next to it Robin grinned, Luffy easily clambered back up to Robin's shoulder a grin on his face as well. "There you go. All you have to do is cross over the fence and you should be able to leave ok?"

The small Venonat seemed to brighten up and nodded happily. The bug pokemon turned to leave but was interupted as a pokeball suddenly came out of no where capturing the frightened bug inside of it.

Blinking in confusion Robin stared at it for a second not quite sure what was happening until it stopped rocking and made a small bing. "What the?" She muttered confused before she felt Luffy stiffen on her back and start growling slightly. Looking up she saw a geeky looking Bug Catcher jumping up and down before going forward and grabbing the pokeball.

"Heheheh thanks for weakening that stupid Venonat for me." The nerdy Bug Catcher said in an extremely naisily voice that grated on Robin's nerves.

Standing up Luffy still on her shoulder glaring at the Bug Catcher. "What is your problem?!" Robin asked clenching her fists in anger.

"I just saw that you didn't want that pokemon and decided to take advantage of that. After all why waste my wonderful pokemon's energy on catching one for myself." The nerd just started giggling again.

"All it wanted to be free!" Robin shouted angrily.

"Heh well that won't happen now. If you want you can battle me, if you win I will let you go on a date with me." He giggled loudly again. "And heck if you lose I will let you be my girlfriend anyway."

Robin felt Luffy growl on her shoulder before jumping down on the ground and assuming a fighting posture. It seemed like Luffy didn't like this guy that much either. Grinning at Luffy she turned her gaze to the annoying nerdy Bug Catcher across from her. "How about I just beat you to a pulp and skip the girl friend part."

Picking up his own pokeball the nerd just giggled again as he tossed it up a few times. "Well when you see my marvelous pokemon I think you will change your mind." That said he tossed out his pokeball only reveal... A plain old Dustox.

Huffing slightly Robin pulled out her pokedex wanting to register the Dustox in it anyway.

Dustox the Poison Moth pokemon. Height 3' 11'. Weight 69.7 pounds. Ability Shield Dust. Dustox is a nocturnally active pokemon that flies from fields and mountains to the streetlights in cities. It looses highly toxic powder from its wings.

"Huh well if that's it I think Luffy can take that pokemon down with ease. Right." Robin said confidently, her anger making her forget her usual self consciousness. In front of her Luffy only grinned and nodded tipping Hat down like he saw Ampersand do earlier. "Right, lets start this battle off with a Fake Out, Scratch combo!"

"Dustox fly up to avoid that land monkey."

It was to late though, Luffy was a lot faster then Dustox who was not known for its speed. Jumping up Luffy flicked the Dustox hard in the face causing the flinch and racked his tail across the bug pokemon's face. Landing back on the ground Luffy stood there ready for more as the moth shook its head trying its best to ignore the stinging scratches on its face.

"Dustox use your Gust attack, try to keep that Aipom away." The Bug Catcher shouted. Wanting to keep Luffy way the Dustox beat its wings hard causing a mini tornado to sweep Luffy right up and into the air.

Unbeknownst to the two trainers a pair of large red eyes were watching the battle from the mini pond in the center of the park.

Kilik scratched the back of his head and apologized again. He looked over his shoulder and could see the downpour of rain further down the Route. It was strange that it was always raining in this particular area of the Hoenn region. However, he nodded. "Sure. I could deal with a bit of shopping myself, though..." he patted his wallet, "I'm a bit low on cash. I think...maybe?" he tilted his head in thought.

With a shrug, he recalled Bahamut as well, attaching the Pokeball to his belt. Kilik then released his Elekid, the plug materializing from the white light with a bright smile on his face. Yet the moment he saw Mike, a chill ran down his small spine. This was the boy with that Magby. That mean-spirited bully of a Magby. With a glare, Elekid clambered up Kilik's body to his shoulder, sitting there with his eyes fixed on Mike. He was ready to rumble if Magby was there. "Relax, Elekid," Kilik whispered. He turned his attention to Mike, "Shall we get going, then?"

With Aska up there on the lookout, it shouldn't be too difficult to find a good, tough bug Pokemon. Miharu thought, now crawling around on her hands and knees. Her jeans were already worn right through, so the tomboy's bare knees were now covered in dirt, but she didn't seem to care as she had a good view of any Pokemon that might be hiding in the tall grass. She gasped out in surprise as a Weedle suddenly crossed her path and looked right at her, blinking its beady little eyes and bobbling its head as if to say hello. "Hello there," Miharu smiled, giving a little wave. The Weedle made a happy chirping sound and went on its merry way, and was soon out of sight. "Not that a Beedrill would be a bad addition to my team, but I don't think a Weedle would help me to win this contest..." she told herself, stopping and sitting down to think. She looked up, but didn't see her Pidgeotto for the time being. Knowing she still had plenty of time, Miharu raised herself up so that just her head was peeking out of the tall grass. She could see other trainers doing practically the same thing she'd been doing, although a lot of noise from somewhere nearby and she rose to a standing position. The only other girl participating in the contest was battling with a dorky-looking bug catcher. Now Miharu wasn't one to judge, but he clearly had done something to upset the girl, which made him the bad guy in her eyes. "Get that wimpy Dustox, little Aipom," she said, nodding to herself as she once again turned to look for her Pidgeotto....

...but was met face to face with a tall, green Pokemon, with two massive scythes and a rather angry look on its face. "Scy-Scyther!?" Miharu shrieked, backpedalling as fast as she could, only the swift mantis was a lot faster than the human, and it matched her stride for stride. Growling, the Scyther raised its claw high, glaring at the small girl as it prepared to strike. "ASKA!!" Miharu cried at the top of her voice, and closed her eyes, preparing herself for the words. There was a loud thudding sound, then a cry. When Miharu opened her eyes, the Scyther had been knocked to the ground. A shrill cry from the Pidgeotto let Miharu know who her saviour was, and the girl was able to get to her feet in time to watch the bird dodge an attempted strike from the attacking mantis.

Kasiya studied the rows of vials all glimmering in the sunlight, picking up three Potions and three Super Potions before she paid for her purchases. After giving the smiling cashier $3000, she carefully put them away and zipped up her backpack, looking around for Keegan. It didn't take much to spot him, as the redhead stood out quite easily in the crowd, and he seemed to have let Themis out of his Pokeball. She slung the bag over her shoulder and made her way over to him. "All set?" she asked, looking down at the Manectric and then back up at Keegan. "What did you buy?" she asked, bending down to give Themis a friendly pat. If Keegan was going to keep the Electric-type out while they made their way to Mauville, she would let Flash out as well, so that perhaps the two Pokemon could become friends, seeing as they both shared the same type. "And are we heading to Mauville now?" she asked, securing her backpack. "I really want to get my bike fixed before I accidentally spend that money Anthony and Dylan gave me for it on something else."

"Eh? Oh, I didn't buy anything special," Keegan chuckled nervously, hiding the used TM disc in his pocket. Themis gladly accepted the affection from Kasiya, sitting down beside her. She was a tough trainer and he respected that, and it made him happy that Keegan had befriended such a nice and powerful trainer. "But yeah, we can head out anytime you're ready, and you look ready," he nodded, quick to shift the subject from money and buying things to traveling. "It'll be much easier once your bike is fixed. We'll be able to come back here a lot quicker." He started to lead the way north, with Themis in tow. "Are you still going to challenge Wattson?" he asked, looking back at her. "I don't think you'd have a problem with him, seeing as you have Digger and Levi on your side. Plus, being an electric type master, he'll probably like to meet your Jolteon."

He stopped walking suddenly, snapping his fingers. "That's right, I wanted to run to the Pokemon Center for a quick moment. You can keep going if you want and I'll catch up, okay?" He bent down and gave her a quick kiss before dashing off towards the red-roofed building.

As Luffy was swept up into the air Robin felt herself grow a little worried. There wasn't really anything Luffy could do while he was in the air like that. Worried and not quite sure what to do Robin pulled out her pokedex and quickly went through the list of moves that Luffy should know. Finally she settled on one not even quite sure it would work. "Luffy use Baton Pass." She didn't have any pokemon but from the sound of it Baton Pass should bring Luffy right back to her side.

In the air Luffy was spinning all around, now if he wasn't so mad at the Dustox and his goofy trainer this all would be great fun, actually it still was great fun. Still when he heard Robins suggestion he frowned slightly not quite sure how exactly to do that while up in the air. Still when he felt the next push of wind against him he went with it doing a few flips as he felt as if he was being tugged towards his trainer. After a second Luffy found himself landing on the ground at his trainers side.

"Hah smart move using Baton Pass to call your pokemon back! Not smart enough though! Dustox use Confusion!" The Dustox let out a small cry as a purple beam came souring towards Luffy.

"Oh Luffy dodge that!" Robin knew that would be a BIG problem if that hit Luffy. He wasn't the smartest pokemon in the world and confusion would happen if he was hit. Once again Robin was lucky that Luffy was much faster then the Dustox as he cartwheeled out of the way. "Good work Luffy!" She said with a grin as the nerdy Bug Catcher ordered another attack that Luffy easily dodged.

This went on for a while until something buzzed right through the battle. Whatever it was it caught Luffy's attention and the small Aipom took off after it forgetting the battle totally. "Ah Luffy!" Robin shouted as she took off after her pokemon leaving the Bug Catcher and his Dustox confused behind them.

The ever-naive Kasiya simply nodded and smiled, having no clue that Keegan hadn't been truthful about his purchases. It's not like she would have cared though; it was his fault for spending all his money on TMs and not things to keep his Pokemon healthy. "We'll see how I feel about challenging Wattson when we get there," she said truthfully. While she didn't have any qualms about taking on Flannery, for some reason she was a bit intimidated by the thought of battling Wattson. "I also have Adamantine with me," she said, but she wasn't sure that he'd heard her. Something else was on his mind, and he suddenly kissed her and ran towards the Pokemon Center. "Alrighty then," she shrugged, and decided to keep walking. He has a bike, so he can catch up, she thought smugly, although she couldn't help but wonder what it was he needed to do.

It was then she realized he'd left Themis behind, and she looked down at the Manectric, who was looking a trifle confused at his trainer's randomness. He looked up to the girl for an answer, to which Kasiya just shrugged. "I couldn't tell you, Themis. He's your trainer, and I haven't quite figured out how things work in there under all of that red hair." She smiled though, and gestured for the Pokemon to follow her as she continued to wander north.

Whatever it was that Luffy had seen was faster then the Aipom and seemed to only get faster and faster. Robin hated running but she really needed to catch up to her pokemon before he started to cause a serious mess chasing down... whatever it was. They made it halfway through the park and into a far corner when the two pokemon stopped. Luffy was standing before the fence not even slightly out of breath and on a nearby fence post rested a small dragonfly like creature. Panting Robin came to a stop there her face red from the exertion. She hated running so much. When she finally gathered her breath she saw what Luffy had chased after her eyes widened. There sitting on the fence post was a rare Yanma. As far as she knew they only appeared in a swarm near here. She had no idea what one was doing here. What she did know as she looked down at Luffy was that he had made his decision. One way or another that Yanma was joining them. Taking out her pokedex she decided to register it in there just to see what exactly would be joining them.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Level:12
Yanma the Clear Wing pokemon. Height 3'11". Weight 83.8 pounds. Ability Speed Boost. Yanma can see 360 degrees without moving its eyes. It can fly at great speeds and is able to change directions and stop in midair in order to catch its prey.

The small Yanma just twitched its head to the side and watched them. It seemed like the small dragonfly was laughing at them from its perch.

Across from it Robin and Luffy watched getting ready to make sure that Yanma made it onto their team. "All right, Luffy let's start it off with a Fake Out!" Robin called out for Luffy. From the way the bug was eying them it didn't look like it would go down with a fight. Leaping up Luffy raised his tail up ready to attack with his Fake Out attack.

Things didn't quite go as planned as the Yanma took off using his superior speed to dodge the attack and take off again doing a few barrel rolls as it flew off across the National Park again.

"Gah!" Robin cried as she watched Luffy take off again after the Yanma once more. Taking off once more Robin tried her best to keep up with the two speedy pokemon. "Luffy use Astonish when you get close enough!" She shouted trying her best to keep up with the two.

The Pidgeotto was a welcoming sight for Miharu, who now held a Park Ball at the ready as she eyed the Scyther carefully. "Bugsy's was tough, so I bet this one is too," she said to herself, looking to Aska. "Okay, let's try to capture it! Quick Attack!"

With a screech, the Pidgeotto sped towards the Scyther, who easily sidestepped before slashing its scythes in an x-pattern, causing its body to glow with an energetic red hue for a split second - Focus Energy. Seeing this, Aska arched around, keeping her gaze fixed on the mantis Pokemon and ready for her next command. "Try your Aerial Ace instead," Miharu called out. Aska flew at her opponent once again, this time making for a solid hit and knocking the mantis reeling again.

"Okay..." Miharu took a deep breath and let her Park Ball fly. The Scyther was pulled inside, and the ball fell to the ground, rocking back and forth. Miharu held her breath, waiting for the ball to stop, but suddenly the Scyther burst out, shrieking and slashing at Miharu with its scythes. Aska intercepted the attack, lashing out with another Aerial Ace. The Scyther eyed the two one last time before giving a cry and bolting back into the tall grass, its colouring helping it to blend perfectly.
