Oh, for an example: I watched a dubbed ep of Inuyasha on Adult Swim On Demand, and had to turn it off after ten minutes. I cringed every time someone said KaGOme. Argh.

Once you listen to japanese voices you can't go back to English voices.

image22 I say original with English Subtitles. In English speaking they don't think about the voice but probably hire, voice over, send it out. Especially if show doesn't end up on american tv. Once you listen to it in the original you find you can't go back to the 3rd rate english version I SO AGREE on that one....haha sorry people. I didn't go on for so long..Partially because the first time, I couldn't find it in the guild and theres pages and pages of threads.

My...it IS hard to go from japanese to english dub. The ONLY ones I can stick with are the good ones on ytv. Actually, I think the ONLY good english dubbed anime is gundam seed/destiny. I can't think of anyother ones. Inuyasha is ok...trust me...inuyasha is at least ALOT BETTER THAN OTHERS. It's alot better than the tsubasa eng dub anyways..

karasohma The Jap. one for me to. The english one is so quite it is hard to hear. The voices don't match up. all in all the jap. with english subs is way! better I know! Which reminds me, I seriously DO NOT LIKE the voice actor for sakura. In the anime and manga, she's supposed to be gentle and sweet, but in the eng dub, the voice actress made her sound more harsh, too energetic...toooo aggressive. I also agree that the eng dub ones are very hard to hear. I remember when I was watching kare kano one time, I had to turn up the volume so high. Then when it got to the theme song, everything just blasted out of my speakers.

xXxArisellaxXx Well of course the original is ALWAYS the best, but i think they did a pretty good job. Except, in the Dubbed version, they ALWAYS pronounce Kurogane's name wrong & it drives me up the wall!!! I KNOW!! I think they also pronounce Sakura, and Syaoran wrong too. I hate how they go "sakura" the ENGLISH WAY. They do something with the prounciation of the "a"....something to do with long and short vowel? I'm forgetting all my basic grade one english skills! gonk

retice I have trouble listening to the english dub without hearing Edward Elric and Piccolo -- but I do get a feeling of morbid satisfaction from hearing Vic have to act out Fai at his gayest. English subs definitely win, quality-wise. The japanese voice actors are very good at what they do. Wow....I mean...hearing Vic's voice for edward was good...actually better than great! But hearing him do Fai is not good at all. I kind of expected Fai to have a gentleman's voice. I SO LOVE THE JAP. VOICE ACTORS!!!

KapetaSukal depends on popularity either english dub or english sub in the internetz... on my other opinion, english sub is much prefereable since thats the only reason I forced myself on checking their jap sentence structure for meh jap course >.< ~コーヒー I see....but it doesn't depend on popularity right? Doesn't it depend on your own opinion. If you think the eng dub sucks then you'd stick to subs. If you think you hate subs...then you stick with dub. So...are you the one who voted for eng dub? Just curious..... 4laugh

fullmetal_fantasy I am a BIG supporter of English Dubs. I started watching Tsubasa in english (like I always do) and wasn't that happy with it but watched it nonetheless.
But after it was awhile before the DVD's came out I decided I'd go ahead in the anime (also since I was already quite far in the manga) and I had no choice but to watch it in Japanese.
I changed. ._.
I started liking the Japanese even more. Daisuke Namikawa is LOVE as Fai and I absolutely love Mokona's seiyuu. She doesn't make Mokona sound so hyper and like It's been on helium like Carrie Savage did.
I adore Vic Mignogna... Just...just not as Fai. ><
But I think Chis Sabat did very well as Kurogane but I keep hearing Alex Louis Armstrong. DX It's horrible when I have to smack myself to remember that Kuro-puu is'nt going to rip his shirt off just because he has the same VA. gonk
So yeah. All and all, I love Dubs. Love Funimation. Love Funimation's dub on Tsubasa? No. emo I see...ahh...everyone has different opinions, but I'm glad that you didn't say.."English dub! Because I don't understand japanese and I don't like reading the subs." I actually get really irritated when someone puts that because it shows that they're lazy. And then afterwards, they'd say that the anime sucks but they don't realize that their interest in the anime can be affected by the emotions used by the voice actors. If they sound boring and really quiet, then you'd think that the anime is boring. All those lazy people....sigh* But I still respect your opinion. But I still wish that eng. voice actors could do better. Isn't it REALLY WEIRD how the eng. voice actors for anime aren't that good (in my opinion), but then for cartoons and movies, they do REALLY GOOD. I don't get that.

Nyanko Tsukishiro Japanese version with the English subs in this anime series is definitely the best. The Japanese seiyuu are more amazing and talented than the English voice actors. I mean, Miyu Irino does a far better job being Syaoran than Jason Liebrecht. When I heard the English dub of Syaoran, I was so devastated. Some of them just don't have the touch for these characters like the Japanese seiyuu does. Only Vic Mignogna did a very good job doing Fai that was so close to Daisuke Namikawa. So in other words, I would prefer watching the Japanese Original Version with the English subs. I AGREE ON THAT ONE! Miyu Irino's voice acting rocks! I love his voice acting for Tsubasa and DN Angel. It matched the physical appearance of the characters, the personality, and it had emotion!!!

DanaKate I never could stand dubbed anime. I watched it in the 90's because it's all I had access to, but it always drives me up the wall. I want to hear it the way it was meant to be, with subbed translations since I can't understand it otherwise. As far as languages go, if you listen to it long enough you can start picking out differences. Dubbed is always horrible, I've never seen one that was worth my while. Even Princess Mononoke irritated me, and that was supposed to be a quality dub since it starred well-known actors. Princess Mononoke I agree...didn't really like it, but I think Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away was pretty good. Although I didn't really like Haku's voice too much.

I love the original Japanese version. The voices are soooo great! Especially Fye and his "Hyuu-'s"!
