Sex! at the Disco I suppose Godsmack would be atheist? Or just anti-christianity? biggrin I don't think they're either of those. Then again, I've only heard a handful of Godsmack songs, perhaps I should listen to more.

Actually, I need to take Job For A Cowboy off the list. Apparently I misinterpreted the lyrics.

Motorhead's Lemmy. I remember reading somewhere that he's an atheist. Not to mention he's written a few songs confirming that.
Plus, Lemmy could kick God's a** any day of the week.

Modest Mouse, or Isaac Brock in particular. He's not specifically an Atheist but a good deal of his lyrics are crititical of religion. One song sings about the apostles selling off their savior for a set of new rings, and my favorite song "Cowboy Dan" where said cowboy pledges that if he has to die then God has to die as well. Isaac Brock is quoted saying "I'm 100 percent on the whole Christianity thing being a crock of s**t, pretty much." Also his song, "Bukowski" is very critical with lines like: "Well we sat on the edge of the river, The crowd screamed, Sacrifice the liver! If God takes life, he's an Indian giver. So tell me now why, you'll tell me never. Who would wanna be? Who would wanna be such a control freak?" and
"If God controls the land and disease, Keeps a watchful eye on me, If he's really so damn mighty, My problem is I can't see, Well who would wanna be? Who would wanna be such a control freak?"

Job For a Cowboy is a musical orgasm.
And though they aren't anti-religious per se, some of their music take a darker side to religion.
" Over time in a world where religion has dispersed, modern times have shown these connections to slowly deteriorate, with empires alleging their holy books to have absolutely no flaws - all accepting everything in its deceitful print.
They pursue to interpret these pages to gather aspiration and formulated belief. Their community now only falls from expanding socialism - a divided population, disposed. One half putting their gods to rest now to only praise the antagonist against of what they once worshipped, his words cradle his followers - while the other half being sealed out of the world they once knew out of pure ignorance.
Knowing their fate, they absolve to relinquish themselves. Hundreds, mass upon thousands take on religious suicide. A religious populace reduced to mere filth."

-b. I like those lyrics. You ever listen to Goatwhore? I know for a fact they are anti-religious...even though some of the lyrics are satanic.

I do not listen to anti-religion songs, usually. They can comment on religion and some of its flaws or advantages, but I don't like it when it's a full-out hate/love-fest.

- Type O Negative, pre-Dead Again. :[ I'm so sad Peter became a Christian. Dead Again's a good album anyhow, just some of the songs grate on my nerves so much, I had to delete them. Don't listen to "These Three Things" [crazy-anti-abortion-song], ever. "Profits of Doom" [crazy-HOMG-the-world-going-to-end-and-kill-all-the-non-believers] is also sort of annoying. I highly recommend anything off their October Rust and Bloody Kisses albums though. "We Hate Everyone" is good too; I miss those days.
- Any of Andy LaPlegua's bands [Combichrist, [DJ] Scandy, Icon of Coil, and Panzer AG]. He mocks religion a lot in Combichrist ["God Warrior", "********", "******** That s**t", etc]
- Chemlab - "Monkey God".
- Carnivore, Peter Steele's old band. I've only listened to a few songs so far, but I really found "Jesus Hitler" funny. Type O did a cover of it once too.
- The 69 Eyes, sounds very similar to Type O. Mostly neutral on the religious things. Again, only heard a few songs so far ["Perfect Skin", "Hand of God"].
