He hadn’t really been trying to be funny. He didn’t want to get blamed for this. Well, blamed by anyone with a functional brain as it seemed Thorn had already decided it was entirely his fault. It was true that he and Scarlet had spent a few nights together but no way had he thought babies were going to show up in the picture. They never had in the past so he had just thought they never would.
It would seem he was wrong.
“You seem pretty sure that they’re mine Luna.” He said not really doubting this fact. Scarlet rarely left his or Luna’s side and they would know if something had happened. He just didn’t want this to be true. He wasn’t exactly cut out to be father material and Scarlet wasn’t exactly the picturesque mother.

Lunathiel couldn’t believe what she was hearing. No, she could. This had been the response she had been expecting, she was just disappointed that it was the response she got. “I’m about as close to positive as I can get.” It was true that she wasn’t certain on the father as Scarlet had so far kept her mouth shut as to who the father was. All she would say was she hadn’t seen him for a while. That left nearly every male open as candidates but Dark was the most likely culprit. She knew how he acted with girls and the way Scarlet acted around him left very little doubt that something probably happened.
“So, what exactly are your plans now Dark?” She asked her crystal blue eyes meeting ruby red. She didn’t like being this forward but someone had to and with Amoena gone that left only her.

Dark’s mind was racing with worry and panic. They way the older mare was talking made it sound like Scarlet had already given birth to little Dark clones. Judging by the size of the young mare’s belly this was untrue but the size also hinted that she could easily pop any day now. He shook his head quickly to remove the rather terrifying image before letting his gaze lock with Luna’s.
“I...” The normally quick witted mind of the thief was at a loss. He didn’t know what his plan was. He didn’t have a plan. The only unexpected events he planned for were for his robberies to go bad in any number of ways. He never planned for something to go wrong with a girl since things were easier to get right. “I don’t know, Luna.” His eyes left the swirly blue mares and he started backing up the same way he had come in.
His foot made it through the fabric and into the cold air outside and then he knew what he was going to do. He looked at the two mares a few times before settling on Scarlet. “Sorry.” He said before turning quickly and racing from the teepee. Once he felt he had enough speed he spread his great wings and took to the sky where no one could catch him. He was in over his head. He felt bad for leaving like this but she would be fine. Right?
