Interesting turn that ol' Jack is the face of Bo. I find it quite difficult to believe still, but that is the way of it I suppose. Maybe it's all that crazy dying he's been doing that's finally got him to become just a head....or maybe a companion got jealous of the doctor and his relationship and finally

Well, in Torchwood S1E01, Jack is standing in the rain, and mentioning how it's got contraceptives in it (birth control stuff) and how he's 'never doing that again'. eek smile

Frankly, I don't think the Face of Boe and Jack are the same person. Sure, Jack said they called him the Face of Boe, but maybe FoB was already famous where Jack was growing up and so his nickname was a play off the celebrity and the place where he was. So the FoB was always a head.

Well, I of course don't want Jack to become the nasty wrinkly head, but I think he is. They call him the Face of Boh, maybe that's what extreme age looks like (b/c of lupine eyes' explanation), and the Face of Boh tells the Doctor that they'll meet again one more time before he dies during the New New York episode, and then the doctor and Jack DO meet. But if the Face of Boh is Jack, how can he ever die? Geh... My brain hurts... gonk

Well, there's sort of an implication as to how in the last episode of series one of Torchwood. Abadon sucks life-force out of Jack and then he stays dead for an extended period. The inference we're supposed to draw is that while Jack has a whole lot more life energy than the rest of humanity, it's still not unlimited. It's further backed up by Gridlock when the Face of Boe uses "the last of his energy" to power the highway system.
Plus, there's his illness in New Earth. He mentions to the Doctor that he had found new reason to live. Perhaps, after a few billion years, Jack figured out a way to will himself to die or had figured out a way to change his biology or something.
The interesting bit is the part about Rose making Jack a fixed point in time. The only thing I can think of is that Rose, having met the Face of Boe and not knowing he and Jack were the same person, only made Jack the fixed point in time and not the Face of Boe. Perhaps, when he actually becomes the Face of Boe, whatever effect Jack is under from Rose's tampering simply fades. After all, it's Jack that's the fixed point, not the Face of Boe.
Berz.

When the Face of Boe made those comments in New Earth, I had the idea that the Doctor was going to meet the Face of Boe before he looked like the face we see. I didn't realize that it was really met. I thought that because as far was we knew up to that point they only met on that station. And that was hardly anything to teach him all of that. And how else did the Face of Boe come up with all of that?

This controversy, I think, will never be solved. It's just another one of the things in the show they're not gonna tell us about. Whatever. I'm just gonna leave it, and stick with my belief that they're not the same being.

You go right ahead and do that. We all have the right to decide for ourselves what we think is going on.
I think that the only way for this to end would be if perhaps the Doctor meets up with the Cat lady and it just so happens that before The Face of Boe died he told her, "I used to be called Jack." And of course, Jack wasn't his real name.
