"Almost certainly." She leaned against the console, looking up. "Well, even so, come on! Time traveling police public call box? I'd love to come." She grinned. "But I should get some things first." ((Now we just have to figure out how to get Rae on board... and she asked not to be a companion yet. XD )) ... ((Name a monster!))

(( Oh I gotcha. Check back at my post in a few minutes and I'll have changed it. Too bad, I kind of liked that post xp
How about the Slevins? Their kind of scary AND kind of stupid. We're probably not into it enough for the Daleks or Cybermen. But you could just make one up, too. Most of the episodes have ones made up just for that ))
A look of impatience flashed over the Doctor's countenance, but he quickly switched back to his smile and shrugged. "I'll be here for about twenty more minutes. Times a wastin''." He gestured to the door.

((Yeah, Slitheens were cool :3nods: hm... yeah, but how to bring them in...)) "Really? You set a limit for your companions?" She eyed him. "Anyways, I'll just grab those things." She ran out, her flat was only a bit away. She was there in about a minute. Okay, tribble backpack, shades. Her dress clothes, just in case, and her favorite pair of sneakers. She ran back to the TARDIS, grinning. "Hey, any alien celebrities? I heard David Tennant is a bit... odd."

The Doctor walked around the control panel and flicked a few switches. "You'd be surprised at how little aliens choose to walk around as humans. Ever since Men in Black came out, you humans seem to think everyone in the universe wants to be you." He looked up in a thoughtful stance. "My 21st century pop-culture most be a little rusty, though." He shrugged. "Never heard of a David Tennant." His hand rested on a semicircle sticking out from the mass of controls. "So. Where, or when, do you want to start?"

Rae almost fell over when a girl burst out of the Police Call Box; in fact, there was no almost about it. By the time she got to her feet, the girl was already well out of yelling range. What the hell was going on? Rae prepared to take off after the girl, more than ready to beat it out of her, then paused, which in and of itself was rather unusual behavior. Maybe she could just wait for the girl to come back; it was a bit of a gamble, sure, but not a ridiculously unintelligent one. After another moment of reflection, she cast about on the ground for a stick, found one, and settled down behind the box to wait.
Sure enough, some ten minutes later the girl came pelting back with enough junk that Rae was surprised she could run with it at all. The girl looked a little younger than Rae herself, though maybe that impression came purely from the look of blissful childlike excitement on her pretty face. Was it a 'secret' club, then? Someplace kids could try questionable things without adult interference? That seemed the sort of thing, except that the box was really much too small for--
Rae's line of reason was cut off abruptly as the girl barged through the doors with a speed that did not suggest she was ready to screech to a stop, yet there was no bump to signal her banging into the opposite wall of the Call Box. That was odd, more than odd, but Rae had no time to dwell on it; the door was swinging shut behind her. Rae lunged forward, wedging her stick in between the door and it's frame just in the nick of time. She jubilantly punched the air, but was careful to do it silently. That's right, she was the smartest. Now for her reward.
She moved forward silently on her hands and knees, bringing her eye close to slender crack, and peered in. What she was expecting to see she wasn't sure, but it wasn't what she saw. Curiosity left almost immediately, leaving stunned disbelief in it's place. That was absolutely impossible, a trick of the light, it was glowing, for christsake, and it was huge, and there was a man, and WHAT??!! Forcing herself to continue breathing, she pulled back and got shakily to her feet, staring at the door as though it might suddenly open to eat her alive. "It's bigger on the..." But she couldn't even finish the sentence.

((Yays!)) Delilah had opened her mouth to say, "New York in the future!" before Rae barged in. "Eeps!" In the shock she hid behind the Doctor, sliding many mechanisms and hitting several buttons. THe TARDIS sprang into action. The door closed suddenly. With a sudden lurch they were launched into the time space continuum.

(( I thought you said she didn't want to be a companion yet? And I don't think she actually came in; just looked in through a crack. But, I'll play like that till I hear different wink ))
The Doctor ran around the console switching switches and turning nobs, a wild grin on his face. The scratchy, sliding noise that signaled the TARDIS removing itself from normal spacetime forced him to yell to be heard. "Now we're getting somewhere! Don't exactly know where 'somewhere' is, but we're definitely getting there!" "You!" He pointed to the girl who had barged in. "Clever girl, you are!" His voice had genuine admiration in it.

Delilah was holding onto one of the pillars for dear life. Her face was filled with horror, her eyes wide. She looked at the Doctor. "What is this thing?" She yelled.

The Doctor laughed wildly. "Didn't I already tell you? It's the TARDIS, baby!" He yanked on a lever and abruptly they came to stop. The Doctor was thrown sideways, but stayed upright by hanging onto the console. "Well," he said simply, "I wonder when we ended up." He looked none the worse for wear after the whole event, taking it in evident stride.

(( stare I thought she got in for some reason... but the TARDIS sucked her in blaugh so she's coming with us!)) "Some warning would've been nice." She muttered, carefully following him. They were on a beautiful beach, tourists and everything. 'Cept the tourists were aliens and all. Hey! A martian! She followed the martian with her wide eyes. "Where are we?" She asked.

The Doctor had a nagging suspicion that he had forgotten something, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. "Hm?" He looked around. "Well we didn't go very far at all it seems. We're on Venus, sometime in the 30s in Earth years." He paused. "That's 4030s, mind you." From his inner coat pocket he pulled out a pair of shades and put them on. "After they put up the solardifusers and a fairly good terafermic atmosphere generator, this planet became a hot spot tourist attraction for anyone passing by the Sol System. And I mean hot. This place is a year long beach vacation over the whole planet." He gestured at the crashing waves. "They even imported a huge amount of water for that ocean effect. Well," he paused, "Technically it's not water, but you can't really tell the difference. Just don't drink too much of it."

"What happens if you drink too much of it?" She asked, fearing the answer. Poison? Maybe. Was there going to be a hitch here? She glanced around suspiciously. Delilah was starting to get very paranoid with this 'Doctor' person.

"Awh, well, probably nothing. Well, maybe a little sick. Well," he paused, "OK, gravity's a little more here. Go on, jump, you'll feel it. Anyway, to make the water act more like water, they fused helium into the water molecules. Just means that too much of it will make you sick faster than normal salt water. And make your voice sound funny." He patted her shoulder. "Stop worrying; I wouldn't put you in danger without you at least knowing about it." He turned toward the TARDIS. Stopping at the door, he turned back to her and grinned. "Well, you going to get your bathing costume, or what?" He disappeared inside.

Rae had just been staring at from one to the other of them, her expression morphing silently from shocked, to frightened, to angry, finally stopping at completely unreadable. At the man's words, she let out a short, humorless laugh. "I'm terribly sorry; I seem to have forgotten to bring my--" She cut herself off, as the man had simply walked away. Glowering, she stomped out after him. No one just walked away from her like that, especially not after kidnapping her inside some sort of.... and.... she froze, utterly speechless, and stared wide-eyed at the endless stretch of water in front of her.
Then slowly, a smile spread across her face, widening until she looked like a kid on Christmas. "Right," she said, after a moment, her brown eyes sparkling with almost feral delight, "I don't care who you are, anymore, so long as you have an extra bathing suit. Actually, if you just have a spare jumper, that would be alright." She took in the ocean for another long beat, then, with an ecstatic little half-skip, turned back to the call box. "Don't worry!" she called back, just before heading inside, "I'll help myself!"

"I didn't bring my bathing suit!" She called inside. This was strange. She carefully stepped inside and shut the door behind her. She looked around, wondering where she'd get a swimsuit. Delilah decided to ask the Doctor for a tour later, because she wasn't sure she'd want to explore now. She might get lost if the TARDIS was as infinitely big as it felt. ((Hey, El, you haven't posted in You Married WHO?! in a while... and its a family dinner. Can you post? whee please?))
