Farai frowned at that and hung limp for a moment or two more. He knew that she was lying about his mother giving him away. He just knew it. But how could he make her let him go? He wasn't strong enough to get away on his own... Argh! This was so frustrating!
"How about the cause of finding out the truth for myself?" he muttered sulkily. "How do I know that what you say is the truth? Do you really thing I'm gonna trust you?"

"Well... you have two options Farai. You can trust me, if you wish to call it that, and do as you're told. Or I can let him tear you to pieces and eat you." It was about time this young lion had his options laid out plainly for him. Xibalba was not to be disobeyed, especially not by a cub as small as this one. Perhaps when he was older he would be a threat, but by that time she would have poisoned his mind enough to make it so he would have no where else to go. He would always return to her even after he was too big to be threatened by her hyena.
Thambo snorted inwardly, mildly amused at the threat. No doubt, the cub would choose life. It was a pity really. He would have enjoyed getting rid of Xibalba's newest pet. Lions were too much of a problem, not to mention this one would probably be invited to join the spy network. Sigh.

At that, Farai seemed to shrink back a bit, hearing in her tone that Xibalba was telling the absolute truth ... it wasn't just an empty threat. He didn't like it, that was for sure. But he didn't want to be killed and eaten either.
So finally... after a few very long moments, he let his head hang limp and muttered, "Fine. Whatever you say. I still don't b'lieve you but I don't want to get eaten."

There we go. See, wasn't that easy? She knew he would cave at some point. Death always seemed to do the trick. "Good boy," Xibalba crooned, nodding to Thambo. The hyena put him down none too gently, and gave him a rather rough nudge in the direction of the den. "Now, why don't you run along back into the den and go to sleep? I'm sure you're very tired. Thambo will be outside in case you need anything." The lioness gave Farai a sweet smile, before turning to head back to her own den.
Thambo grunted softly when she left, moving to sit in the den entrance. He didn't see why he got to be on cub duty, but he would do what he must. The sooner the leash was fastened on Farai the better.

Farai growled at that, but turned and went back into the cave - though his posture made it clear with every step that he wasn't at all happy about this. He really wasn't all that tired, but he wouldn't argue for now... he would just watch for his chance to get away in secret - since he couldn't do it openly.
Stupid Xibalba. He hated her. And her stupid hyena too.
(( Yup! <33 Did you want to start another one~ o3o; Even though these are backdated now... XD Tis up to you :3 ))
