Alyna thought for a moment. "An adventure doesn't always have to be dangerous, you know...Besides, I don't think Lyka's going to let us do anything too dangerous..." Lyka looked at her and said, "You're right, I'm not letting you two foalies get into trouble. Your mom would be furious." Alyna grinned at Martin. "But even though it can't be dangerous, it can still be fun. You'll see." Alyna looked out in the forest "Wanna go exploring? In the woods, anything could come walking by." Alyna nodded, knowing this from experience. She'd met a half-Kalona, a Wind, and several others like her just from walking in the forest.
Lyka disapproved of the forest in general, because she knew what kind of creatures roamed it's depths, having lived in forests before becoming bonded with Alyna. But, Lyka knew she couldn't keep Alyna out of forests forever, and with her there to protect the two foals, Lyka didn't think anything would go too terribly wrong.

Martin's ears flattened in dissapointment that the adventure they were going on wouldn't be dangereous, but he wiggled his rump as Alyna suggested the forest. "The forest? I've never been in the forest before!" He danced around, swishing his tail and squealing happily.
He stopped for a moment and asked with wide eyes, "Do you think we'll see a Kalona?" He wiggled again and said, "I just hope we don't me Cyander, she doesn't like my mommy." He nodded, and continued, "My mommy has been training me and my sister to fight Kalona's, just in case Cyander finds us." He brightened up and said happily, "I can't believe we get to go into the forest!"

Lyka frowned. "You've never been in the forest before? Why not? Do your parents not allow it?" Lyka didn't want to get the foal in trouble, and if there was reason enough to not go in the forest, then she wouldn't allow the foals to do so.
"Lyka, we have to go now! He hasn't seen it! Oh, and I've met a half-Kalona, Martin, and he was nice. I dunno about full Kalonas, though." Alyna smiled. She knew that most people thought Kalonas were evil, and she thought that most Kalonas weren't very nice, but she believed that somewhere out there had to be at least one that was nice.

Martin pranced in place, and said, "Well, I've kinda been in a forest before, but it was an enchanted forest! I met a half kalona there, she was nice!" He grinned and swished his little bob of a tail playfully, and continued, "I can't wait to go into a real forest!"
He turned to Lyka and said quickly, "I've never actually asked them, but they let me go with Scarlet to different places all the time, and she's a total spazz." He nodded seriously.

Lyka sighed. "Well, if you're sure it's alright...I wouldn't want you to get into any trouble." Lyka didn't know if the foal's parents would approve, but she figured she could at least protect the young foal if anything were to happen.
Alyna, however, was just thrilled that Lyka was going to let Martin come. "Oh, you're going to have so much fun, Martin!" she said, scampering around the foal.

Martin jumped around, excited that Lyka was actually going to let him come. His little bob of a tail swished back and forth, and his eyes sparkled with delight. He jumped over to Alyna and asked, "So, what are we going to do first! Chase squirrels, go in the river, what?" THe young colt could barely contain his excitement.

Alyna giggled. "Whichever you'd like to do first! So, what do you want to do?" Martin was such an excitable foal! Alyna was happy to meet a foal even more energetic than she was!
Lyka watched the two, amazement in her eyes. That a foal as small as Martin could have so much energy seemed to her a crime. She sighed softly as she kept her eyes on them, wondering why she always seemed to find the hyperactive foals to foalsit.

Martin stopped bouncing for a moment, a rare occosion, and thought. Chasing squirrels sounded fun, but it was getting quite hot. The stream sounded like a better place to be, so he said, "Its gonna be really hot soon, wanna go in the stream?" He pawed the dirt, making a little hole in the earth. He flicked his ears back and forth, listening to the sound of the dragonflies in the waterlilies by the stream.

Alyna laughed. "Sure!" She plowed into the stream, deliberately splashing water on Martin and Lyka. And oh, the stream felt so wonderful. Alyna closed her eyes and rolled in it, splashing more water. "Ah! It's so nice in the stream." she said happily.
Lyka, however, was NOT amused. Grumbling to herself, she stalked off a ways and shook herself dry, sending water droplets flying. She stayed close enough to watch the two foals, but far enough away that she wouldn't get wet again. Lyka shot Alyna dirty looks for getting her wet. Such frivolous folly! Lyka frowned and flopped down in the dirt, crossing her front paws disdainfully.

Martin squealed as he was sprayed with water, and plowed in after Alyna, soaking the both of them and Lyka. He leaned down and splashed Alyna with a spray of water. He jumped back a few steps and wiggled his rump, ready for Alyna's return attack.
