((First post, long time stalker. I probably will not post again, but I thought I should say something.))

Erasmuses: Isn't it also interesting how hypocritical it is for you to say that we do not bash, seeing as though I've read most of the threads with in the next few pages, and a great lot of them have people saying how the pro-choicers are hypocrites, run around in circles, they suck, etc? I've even seen poll-skewering threads. People always say that pro-choicers do not treat them with respect, but from what it sounds like most of us treat them with very little respect too. Please do not glorify yourself or our guild on us being completely clean of any of that. Thanks.

First of all, acerbic comments in a roundabout kind of way isn't the same as having a thread that basically goes "let's quote and make fun of the other side because they suck!!". Of course, it's all relative, but it seems like their side is about how they can stigmatize our argument more than purport their own.

Also, I doubt there's an even marginal Pro-life presence in their guild; this guild has a whole sub-forum for pro-choice. We give them credit in some facets of the argument, but they give us none. The point I'm trying to make is, we DO "respect" (and I hate the monster that word has become) them to some extent. We don't respect the emotional ploys they use to make their points and shoot down ours, but don't even like we're all just one in the same because some of us might call them hypocrites.

And another thing, the names I've seen, in most part, are based on their arguments. Meaning, it's about what they say and not who they seem to be. I'll admit I've tried to steer conversation towards thinking maybe some of them are messed up individuals, because at some point you have to stop circling the block, looking for someone who is inside. But that's not the majority of us, and I doubt it ever has been.

Erasmus, the point is... most of us don't even bother arguing with them anymore.

Arguing with a fool only makes them wise in their own eyes.

Sure, we are more respectful of their position, but the end result is the same. People believe they are smart, we believe we are smart, everyone believes they have it "right" that their logic is fail-safe.

Obviously there are things we can't accept, and there are things they can't accept. And obviously, there are obvious things we can see that they can not, and likewise the other way around...

However... I must say you are correct. The people in our guild have put forth much more effort to understand their side than they do for us. I guess it has to do with the age difference.

Most of the people in our guild are above 16, and many of us are past 18. Most people I know of in their guild are usually below 16, with the exception of some of them being above 20. This is not an accurate statistic, but it is something to note.

That makes sense, lot of them do seem to act very immature and ignorant on some things.
Instead of actually debating and trying to understand us and our side (or my choice on being personal pro-life), then just tend to flame us and make us seem like the monsters.

I sometimes wonder how many of them are truly pro-choice and not just pro-abortion.
I would think if truly pro-choice that they would support the people that want to keep the baby or give it up for adoption and respect pro-lifers as long as we don't force them to have the baby if they don't want to or take away their right for abortion is they choose so.

There are some that are very nice and try to work with us so maybe some of them would change their attitudes over time.

Actually, I wouldn't mind putting up a 'stupid stuff pro-choicers said' thread.
Hear me out.
I only recently found out you could read a group's forums without being a member yourself. So, naturally, I went to their forums and made a bee-line to the 'pro-lifers BAD' thread. I read some of the stuff and lo and behold, my name came up a few times with some wacky adjectives following it (anti-this, pro-that, unstable, etc.). And my eyes lit up because I had made a difference.

And it felt good.

We actually have one. xd It's farther back in the archives. And actually, the point is that we don't just slander their names like they sometimes do ours. 3nodding

I know exactly how you feel. So really, maybe they're being nice by giving us those good feelings, and we're being mean by not giving them the same pleasure. xd

For your viewing and posting pleasure, The dumbest thing you've ever heard in an abortion debate If anyone chooses to post, this is the PLG and we don't namedrop here.

I would try and find the venting frustration one, but I'm not sure if that has relevance to the topic at hand, since most of it is really just spam.
